A turbocharger includes: a housing; a plurality of covers each of which encloses at least a part of an outer surface of the housing, the plurality of covers including at least a first cover and a second cover, each of the plurality of covers accommodating an insulator between the cover and the outer surface of the housing; and a connecting piece directly arranged on the outer surface of the housing and connecting the first cover and the second cover.

Turbocharger

A falsification prevention structure is to prevent falsification of the performance of a turbocharger. A bearing housing of the turbocharger has a flow rate adjustment screw which is operated to adjust a turbine flow rate of the turbocharger. The falsification prevention structure includes a cover member which is fastened to a flange portion of the bearing housing by a fixing bolt and which covers the flow rate adjustment screw, and a cap which is mounted in an irremovable manner with respect to the cover member and which blocks a bolt hole.

Prevention of performance falsification of a turbocharger

A bottom surface of a housing recess of a turbine housing includes a close attachment portion in a continuous annular land shape, which is located radially outside a fitting recess. The close attachment portion is closely attached to a portion radially outside first support holes in a surface of a shroud ring opposite from its facing surface, by a fastening force of attachment bolts. The first support holes in the shroud ring communicate with an outlet side of a turbine impeller through a connection path and a cutout.

Variable geometry system turbocharger

An inner surface of each first supporting hole of a shroud ring has on both sides in the axial direction of a turbine impeller two first bearing portions by which first nozzle shaft is rotatably supported. An inner surface of each second supporting hole of a nozzle ring has a second bearing portion by which a second nozzle shaft is rotatably supported. The fitting clearance between the second bearing portion and the second nozzle shaft is set larger than the fitting clearance between each of the first bearing portions and the first nozzle shaft.

Variable nozzle unit and variable geometry system turbocharger

A reservoir groove for storing condensate water is formed on a lower part side of a link chamber inside a turbine housing. The reservoir groove is formed such that, assuming that water vapor contained in an exhaust gas retained inside the link chamber is completely condensed and liquefied after an engine stops its operation, a height position of a reference water surface of the condensate water stored in a reservoir area, which includes a space inside the reservoir groove in the link chamber, is lower than a height position of a lowermost part of the link mechanism.
