A disclosed inkjet head includes an ink channel unit formed by stacking a channel plate having a nozzle hole formed therein, a channel plate having a pressure chamber formed therein, and a channel plate having a restrictor formed therein and by bonding the channel plates together by diffusion bonding, which channel plates have substantially the same thickness; a pressure generating source attached to a surface of the ink channel unit and configured to generate pressure to jet ink; and a housing formed by stacking housing plates and by bonding the housing plates together by diffusion bonding and configured to hold the ink channel unit, which housing plates have substantially the same thickness as that of the channel plates.

A method for producing an inkjet head for jetting an ink from a nozzle that is formed on a nozzle main body formed of a metal material, the method includes smoothening a surface of the nozzle main body, applying a silica sol solution to the nozzle main body so as to form a silica sol film, wherein the silica sol solution has a concentration that is controlled to avoid a nozzle clogging in the nozzle main body, heating the silica sol film formed on the nozzle main body to thereby convert the silica sol film into an SiOfilm, applying an ink repellent agent solution to the SiOfilm and drying to thereby form an ink repellent film, wherein the ink repellent agent solution is prepared by dissolving a compound having an alkoxysilane residue at an end of a perfluoro polyether chain in a solvent.

In an ink-jet head having an orifice ejecting an ink for forming an image, the ink-jet head further has a water repellent film for repelling the ink on a surface of the orifice, and the water repellent film has a fluorine-containing polymer resin layer and a part having a perfluoropolyether chain or a perfluoroalkyl chain bonded on the layer, whereby an ink-jet head and an ink-jet printer having a water repellent film having high water repelling property to an oil-based ink and high abrasion resistance can be provided.

An ink jet head includes: a chamber plate having a plurality of pressuring chambers formed therein for storing an ink; a vibrating plate bonded to the chamber plate; a housing having an ink flow path through which an ink is supplied into the pressuring chambers; an orifice through which an ink is ejected from the pressuring chambers; and a longitudinal vibration mode piezoelectric element for generating pressure under which an ink droplet is ejected through the orifice. A thickness of the vibration plate is from 5 &#x3bc;m to 10 &#x3bc;m.

Ink jet head and droplet ejection device having same mounted thereon

An inkjet recording head characterized by better ink repellency, greater resistance to abrasion and a longer service life than a conventional product can be attained when an ink repellent layer comprising a compound made up of a perfluoropolyether chain and alkoxysilane residue is formed on the nozzle plate of the inkjet recording head. An inkjet printer for forming an image by jetting out liquid ink, wherein this nozzle plate is employed, becomes substantially maintenance free.

Inkjet head

An inkjet head having an ink flow path communicated with an ink chamber to an inkjet nozzle and having an orifice plate to which the nozzle is formed. An ink-philic layer is formed on the surface of the ink flow path, and an ink repellent layer is formed on the surface of the orifice plate where the nozzle is formed. The ink-philic layer is made of amorphous silica or inorganic polymer of colloidal silica bonded with a polymer of (SiOR), and the ink repellent layer contains a compound having perfluoropolyether chain and alkoxysilane residue as a terminal.

An appropriate pulse width of a driving pulse for driving a piezoelectric element of ink jet head is determined by using the head difference. That is, the pulse width with which the least change in the ink speed occurs can be used as the pulse width of the driving signal for the piezoelectric actuator. As a result, a reliable ink jet printer head capable of stably ejecting ink droplets over a long period of time and having excellent frequency characteristics can be provided.
