Provided is an ion generator that sends out air ions generated by applying high voltage between a discharge electrode and a counter electrode, the ion generator including: an air discharge port provided in a housing of the ion generator to send ejected air toward a region between the discharge electrode and the counter electrode; and an opening portion configured to discharge the generated air ions by the ejected air, in which the counter electrode is positioned on an upstream side of the flow of the ejected air with respect to the discharge electrode.

Ion generator

Provided is an ion generator that has a potential sensor provided integrally inside the main body of the ion generator, and that can measure, with the potential sensor, an electric field that reaches the potential sensor from a member from which static charge is to be eliminated, without being affected by an electric field between a discharge electrode and an opposing electrode. This ion generator comprises a discharge electrode, an opposing electrode, and a main body part including these electrodes, the ion generator sending out, toward a member from which static charge is to be eliminated, air ions generated by applying a high voltage between the electrodes. A potential sensor that measures the potential of the member from which static charge is to be eliminated is provided integrally to the main body part, and a projecting electrostatic-shielding plate that projects from the main body part is provided between the potential sensor and a discharge part constituted by the discharge electrode and the opposing electrode.

There is provided a potential measuring device of non-contact type which can improve measurement sensitivity. A potential measuring device which measures a charged object in a non-contact manner with a sensor includes: a first shutter and a second shutter each having a shutter part provided with an opening and a leaf spring part; a magnet attached to the leaf spring part of each of the first shutter and the second shutter; a yoke on which a coil is disposed, the coil applying an alternating magnetic field to the magnet of each of the first shutter and the second shutter to cause the shutter part to reciprocate via the leaf spring part; and a natural frequency adjusting means for adjusting a natural frequency of at least one of a first shutter system including the first shutter and the magnet and a second shutter system including the second shutter and the magnet.

Potential measuring device

A potential measuring device which measures a charged object in a non-contact manner with a sensor may include a first shutter having a first shutter part, which is provided with a first opening which can be positioned at a position opposing the sensor, and leaf spring parts extending from both ends thereof; a second shutter having a second shutter part, which is provided with a second opening which can be positioned at a position opposing the sensor and the first opening, and leaf spring parts extending from both ends thereof; a coil provided so that a direction along a center axis opposes portions of the leaf spring parts; and a magnet provided on each of regions opposing both end sides of the coil in the leaf spring parts extending from the both ends of each of the first shutter part and the second shutter part.

An air ion measuring apparatus () is used for measuring the amount of ions in ionized air generated by an ion generating apparatus () having a discharge electrode () and a nozzle () serving as a discharge electrode. The air ion measuring apparatus () has a cylindrical electrode (), and when the length of the cylindrical electrode () is denoted by 'l', a flow rate of air which flows through the cylindrical electrode () is denoted by 'U', detection current which flows in the electrodeis denoted by &#x201c;I&#x201d;, time constant is denoted by &#x201c;&#x3c4;&#x201d;, and the detection current &#x201c;I&#x201d; is denoted by a current detector (), current generated by passage of ion is calculated by it is possible to measure the amount of ions from the calculated carried ion current &#x201c;I&#x201d;, and to measure the amount of ions while splaying the ionized air to an object required to be electrically neutralized.

Air ion measuring apparatus

In an ion generator, a flexible discharge electrodecomposed of one wire is provided to a base, and a turning motion of a free endof the discharge electrodeabout a fixed endof the discharge electrodeis performed by repulsive force of a corona discharge generated by supplying a high voltage to the fixed end. Therefore, in comparison with a discharge electrode composed of a bundle of thin wires, it is possible to significantly reduce dust emission from the free endof the discharge electrode, and to further improve the ion generatorin maintenance interval. Since the discharge electrodeis compose of one wire, it is possible to reduce the discharge electrodein size, easily observe the state of the discharge electrode, and simplify its maintenance. Since the discharge electrodeperforms a turning motion, it is possible to transport the generated air ions EI to a wide area of a packaging film, and to enhance ionizing efficiency.

Object neutralization with flexible discharge electrode

A static electricity removing apparatus for removing static electricity of a charged object comprises a discharge electrode which generates an ionized air having a polarity opposite to that of the object by discharge, an auxiliary electrode which is provided with openings for the ionized air generated by the discharge electrode to pass through, and an electric field forming means which forms an electric field in a space between the auxiliary electrode and the object. The electric field forming means generates the electric field between the auxiliary electrode and the object by allowing a potential having a polarity opposite to that of the object to occur in the auxiliary electrode at the start of the static electricity removal and decreases the electric field between the auxiliary electrode and the object when an absolute value of the potential of the object is equal to or less than a predetermined value.

Static electricity removing apparatus and method thereof

An ion generatorhas an ejection headas an opposite electrode and a discharge electrode, and generates air ions by corona discharge. A nozzlesupporting the discharge electrodeis attached to a base memberformed with an air supply path, and the nozzleis formed with an exposure surfacefor exposing the tip end portionof the discharge electrodeand a tapered surface. The nozzleis formed with air guide holeswhich communicate with the air supply path, and ejection ports of the air guide holesare open on the tapered surface. Compressed air ejected from the ejection port is flowed along the tapered surfaceso that outside air surrounding the nozzleis involved in the compressed air, and sprayed in a front direction of the discharge electrode

A maintenance operation of an ion generator can be easily performed. A device main body has an inner case and an outer case, and the inner case having a support block and an air supply pipe is inserted into the outer case. An opposite electrode is detachably mounted in the support block from a front side of the device main body, and a discharge needle unit is detachably mounted from a reversed direction thereto. The discharge needle unit has a holder, in which the discharge electrode is provided, and a sleeve, which forms an ion generating space between the opposite electrode and the sleeve, is detachably mounted in the holder. Air supplied from an outside is supplied to the ion generating space via a flow path in the air supply pipe.

This static eliminator is used for eliminating static electricity from an object by ionizing the air to be blown to a charged object, and has a casebody provided with an air blow ductfor blowing out an ionized air, and an electric discharge modulebeing mounted detachably on the case body. The electric discharge modulehas an electric discharge needle substratehaving a plurality of electric discharge needlesarranged straightly, and a surface paneldetachably mounted on the case body, and the electric discharge moduleis mounted on the case bodyby mean of a mounting screw memberin the portion of the surface panel. By dismounting the electric discharge modulefrom the case body, the electric discharge needles can be replaced.

Static eliminator and electric discharge module

A static eliminator capable of replacing a discharge needle and improving maintainability of the eliminator is disclosed. The static eliminator comprises: an air-guiding duct having a tubular portion provided with an outer electrode and a boss portion; and an electric discharge module detachably mounted on the tubular portion, wherein ionized air is supplied to the air-guiding duct by a fan of an air blower. The electric discharge module has a holder fitted in a boss portion and a plurality of discharge electrodes attached to the holder so as to protrude toward the outer electrode in an outer-radial direction. When foreign substances or the like adhere to a tip of the discharge electrode or when the discharge electrode deteriorates, the electric discharge module is detached from the boss portion.
