The present invention provides a dispersion-retaining agent for a hydraulic composition being excellent in both fluidity retainability and viscosity retainability and further a dispersion-retaining agent exhibiting fluidity retainability and viscosity retainability regardless of the type of hydraulic powder. The present invention relates to a dispersion-retaining agent for a hydraulic composition, containing a copolymer obtained by polymerizing specific monomer 1 represented by formula (1), with monomer 2 represented by formula (2), the corresponding alcohol compound of which satisfies specific physical properties, wherein, in the constituent monomers of the copolymer, the proportion of the monomer 1 is in a specific range, a specified monomers is used as at least a part of the monomer 2, and the proportion of monomers having an acid group or a neutralized group thereof is 5% by weight or less.

Disclosed in the present invention is a process for preparing a (meth)acrylic acid-based polymer having a stable quality and suitable as a dispersant for cement. That is, the present invention provides a process for preparing a (meth)acrylic acid-based polymer, comprising the steps of the stage 1 of introducing (meth)acrylic acid and a polyalkylene glycol monoalkyl ether at a molar ratio in the range of 3:l to 50:1, subjecting them to an esterification reaction in the presence of an acid catalyst and a polymerization inhibitor and deactivating the acid catalyst with an alkaline agent in order to obtain an esterification product containing a (meth)acrylate and (meth)acrylic acid residues and the stage 2 of copolymerizing the (meth)acrylate and the (meth)acrylic acid residues at a pH value in the range of 1.5 to 3.5.

Process for the production of (meth)acrylic polymers

A keratotic plug remover composition comprising a polymer compound having a salt forming group is disclosed. The composition according to the invention can effectively remove keratotic plugs in the skin pores, so that the conspicuousness of the skin pores is mitigated and clean and healthy skin pores can be maintained. The present invention aims at developing a deinking method applicable to the deinking of, for example, waste OA (office automation) paper and telephone directories, whereby a deinked pulp having a high whiteness and little contamination with large ink spots and unliberated ink can be obtained. The object of the present invention can be achieved by deinking, for example, waste OA paper or telephone directories by using a deinking composition containing as an effective component a reaction mixture (III) obtained by conducting the addition reaction of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide with a mixture (I) comprising a fat and oil (a) and a mono- to hexahydric alcohol (b) and/or with a transesterification mixture (II) obtained by conducting the transesterification reaction of a fat and oil (a) with a mono- to hexahydric alcohol (b), in such a manner that the molar ratio of ethylene oxide to propylene oxide which are used as starting materials ranges from 0.8 to 1.2 and that the molar number of ethylene oxide which is used for the addition reaction ranges from 50 to 100 mol per mole of the fat and oil (a).

Deinking method

A deinking composition which shows a good deinking performance, a good defoaming property and excellent operation characteristics whereby a deinked pulp having a high whiteness and little contamination with the total remaining ink can be obtained in the reclamation of waste papers by flotation, washing or a combination procedure thereof and wherein the deinking composition comprises a reaction mixture (II), as a deinking agent, obtained by the addition reaction of alkylene oxide (D) with a mixture (I) comprising a fat and oil (A) which is constituted with a mixture of higher fatty acids (a) comprising fatty acids having 8 to 24 carbon atoms; having an average carbon atom number of from 12.7 to 22.5; containing from 9.6 to 70.6% by weight of higher fatty acids having 20 to 24 carbon atoms and having an iodine value (IV) of 70 or less and glycerol (b-1), and/or, a transesterification reaction mixture (B) obtained by reacting the fat and oil (A) with glycerol (b-2), and at least one mono- to tetradecahydric alcohol (C).

Deinking composition

A film-forming cosmetic composition useful as a facial pack, nail enamel, eye liner etc., which comprises a copolymer of vinyl alcohol and alkyl vinyl ether, being referred to simply as PVA/AVE, consisting of 98 to 80 mole % of vinyl alcohol monomer units and 2 to 20 mole % of linear or branched alkyl vinyl monomer units having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms. The molar ratio of the vinyl alcohol monomer units to the alkyl vinyl ether monomer units is in the range of from 95/5 to 85/15. The PVA/AVE according to the invention has no acetic groups with ester bonds in a molecule. Instead, there are alkyl or alkenyl groups having ether bonds which serve for steric hindrance for preventing gelation of an aqueous solution of such copolymer. From this reason, the PVA/AVE does not undergo any hydrolysis as time passes and is thus excellent in storage stability.
