Naphthothiopyranone derivatives

Chalcone derivatives represented by the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is a straight chain, branched chain or cyclic alkyl group having 4 to 15 carbon atoms or an alkenyl group having 3 to 15 carbon atoms, and occurs at the 2- or 4-position, R.sup.2 is a hydrogen atom, a straight or branched chain alkyl group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, and X is a straight or branched chain alkylene group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, are disclosed. These compounds have anti-ulcer effect, gastric mucosal protection effect and antisecretory effect.

Chalcone derivatives

An apovincaminic acid derivative represented by the formula ##STR1## wherein n is an integer of from 2 to 11, and a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof are disclosed. These compounds are useful for therapy of cerebrovascular injuries, peripheral vessel injuries, angina pectoris, hypertension and senile dementia.

Apovincaminic acid derivatives

Vincaminic acid derivatives represented by the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms or an alkoxyalkyl group having 2 to 6 carbon atoms, R.sup.2 is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, a halogenated alkyl group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms, a cycloalkyl group having 3 to 6 carbon atoms, an alkoxycarbonylallyl group having 3 to 8 carbon atoms, an alkenyl group having 2 to 4 carbon atoms, a phenyl group, a phenyl group substituted by alkoxy groups each having 1 or 2 carbon atoms or a thienyl group, A is a hydroxy group, B is a hydrogen atom, or A and B together form a valence bond, and the acid addition salts thereof are disclosed. These compound are useful as thereapeutic effect on cerebovascular injuries.

Acylated vincaminic acid derivatives

2-Azetidione derivatives represented by the following formula ##STR1## wherein X is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a lower alkyl group, a lower alkoxy group, a hydroxyl group or a cyano group, l is 1 or 2, R.sup.1 is a lower alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, a 1-naphthylmethyl group, an optionally substituted phenethyl group, an optionally substituted phenyl group, an optionally substituted benzyl group or a bis(alkoxycarbonyl)ethyl group, and R.sup.2 is a lower alkyl group, a lower alkoxy group, an amino group, an adamantyl group, a lower alkoxycarbonylmethyl group or an optionally substituted phenyl group, are disclosed. These compounds are useful as blood platelet aggregation inhibiting agents.

3-Oxoalkylidene-2-azetidinone derivatives

Unsymmetrical 1,4-dihydropyridine-3,5-dicarboxylic acid diesters represented by the general formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are different and represent each a nitratoalkyl having 2 or 3 carbon atoms, are prepared from the corresponding acid monoester in the presence of an organic acid anhydride activating agent. These compounds are useful as therapeutic agents for cardiovascular disorders.

3-Benzoyl-2-mercaptopropionic acid derivatives represented by the general formula ##STR1## (wherein, X represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, hydroxy group, a lower alkyl group or a lower alkoxy group, Y represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a lower alkyl group or a lower alkoxy group, Z represents a hydrogen atom or an acyl group, and R represents a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group). These compounds have immunomodulative function and are effective for the treatment of diseases caused by abnormal immunofunction.

3-benzoyl-2-mercaptopropionic acid derivatives

Diphenylsulfide derivatives represented by the general formula ##STR1## wherein, X represents a hydrogen atom, a chlorine atom or a methyl group, and R represents a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group. These diphenyl sulfides reduce lipids such as cholesterols and triglycerides in the blood of mammals.
