A laser distance measuring apparatus, for measuring the distance between objects existing in two directions at least as seen from the apparatus by using laser light, comprises two projectors for projecting laser beams along a specified projection axis toward each one of the objects, a photo detector for receiving reflected light of projection from each object, a distance measurement processor for measuring the distance from a reference point of the apparatus to each object on the basis of the reception signal to the projection by the photo detector, and a distance calculation processor for calculating the distance between the objects on the basis of the distance data measured by the distance measurement processor and the angle formed by two projection axes, in which the projection axis by one projector is variable in angle with respect to the other projector. Therefore, the distance between objects can be measured easily and at high precision by one distance measuring operation only.

Laser distance measuring apparatus

A method of producing plural device chips from a thin plate of a pyroelectric material comprises the following steps. First, plural device-forming regions each having an electrode and a circuit pattern for electrically connecting the electrodes are formed on each of front and rear surfaces of the thin plate to obtain a device substrate. By making an electrical connection between the circuit patterns, and grounding it, all of the device-forming regions on the device substrate are at the same potential. Next, a blast treatment is performed to the device substrate to remove a required region of the pyroelectric material, while leaving a bridge portion extending between adjacent device-forming regions and having the circuit patterns thereon, so that a device-chip aggregate is formed, in which adjacent device chips are coupled through the bridge portion. Subsequently, by removing the bridge portion, the device chip is separated from the device-chip aggregate.

Method of producing plural device chips from a thin plate of a pyroelectric material

A circuit board has holes extending therethrough, and a solder layer disposed on a first side of the board. Terminals have been pushed through respective holes and into contact with the solder layer. The terminals have been welded to the first side of the circuit board in a fluxless manner by an irradiated energy beam.

Terminal-carrying circuit board

Load terminals are mounted to a circuit board by providing a solder layer on each lead terminal and on each conductive inner wall surface of respective holes formed in the circuit board. The lead terminals are thrust into respective holes, and contacting portions of the solder layers are irradiated with an energy beam, to produce sufficient heat for welding in a fluxless manner each lead terminal to the inner wall surface of its respective hole.

A method for manufacturing a printed circuit board is to form on a top surface of an insulating substrate a layer of such plating ground as a metal film, to irradiate such electromagetic wave as a laser to a boundary edge zone of non-circuit parts with respect to circuit-printing parts on the insulating substrate in correspondence to a pattern of the non-circuit parts to remove the plating ground layer at the part irradiate by the electromagnetic wave with the plating ground layer at the non-irradiated part left as formed, and thereafter to form a plating on the surface of the plating ground layer at the non-irradiated parts, whereby it is enabled to allow the laser irradiation to be carried out only with respect to the boundary edge zone of the non-circuit parts, without irradiating all over the non-circuit parts.

Method for manufacturing printed circuit board

A process of fabricating a three-dimensional object from a light curable liquid resin by radiating a light to a surface of the liquid resin to form successive cross-sectional layers of the cured resin superimposed on each other. The process makes it possible to rapidly form on a platform or on a previously cured layer a fresh stratum of a desired thickness to be subsequently cured into the corresponding layer. The process utilizes a vessel containing a volume of the liquid resin and a platform carrying the layers, and comprises the steps of a) forming the stratum of the liquid resin on an overlay surface of the platform or previously cured layer outside of the liquid resin in the vessel; b) immersing the resulting stratum into the liquid resin in the vessel to place a top surface of the stratum approximately in level with a liquid level of the vessel, thereby surrounding a periphery of the stratum by the liquid resin in the vessel; c) allowing a portion of the liquid resin surrounding the stratum to flow toward the periphery of the stratum such that the stratum has a continuous flush top surface over substantially the entire of the overlay surface; and d) radiating the light to the stratum so as to cure it into the cross sectional cured layer. At the step c), only a minimum amount of the resin is caused to flow into the stratum from the surrounding resin and therefore expedite to the formation of the stratum into a straight configuration.

Process of fabricating three-dimensional objects from a light curable

A process of fabricating a three-dimensional object from a light curable liquid resin includes irradiating a light to a surface of the light curable liquid resin so as to form successive cross-sectional layers of the cured resin at that surface and to superimpose the successive layers on each other. An improvement resides in that one or more of the successive layers is made to have different portions made through different curing conditions. By providing such cross-sectional layers having different curing conditions, the resulting three-dimensional object can be made into accurate outer configuration without leaving any critical residual stress therein.

An energy-beam welding method for two metal pieces is performed by bringing a cylindrical jig into axial engagement with one of the metal pieces at welding zone between them which are placed as joined, and irradiating an energy beam to the welding zone through the cylindrical jig in its axial direction, causing at least part of the energy beam reflected on inner peripheral wall of the cylindrical jig to be directed to the welding zone, whereby the metal pieces are mutually welded easily reliably.

A process and device for fabricating a three-dimensional object from a light curable liquid resin by irradiating a light to a surface of the liquid resin to form successive cross-sectional layers of the cured resin superimposed on each other. An open top enclosure surrounds the entire circumference of the preceding cured layer and a top upper end face of the enclosure is kept at the same horizontal level as that of the preceding cured layer. The liquid resin is supplied over the preceding layer, over the enclosure and into a space defined therebetween in such a manner as to positively overflow a portion of the liquid resin outwardly over the top end of the enclosure, thereby leaving a continuous coat of the liquid resin extending horizontally over from the preceding cured layer and to the enclosure. The continuous liquid resin coat may have a droop only at an outer perimeter of the enclosure such that it can have an equal thickness and flat surface area extending from the top surface of the preceding cured layer to at least the inner periphery of the top face of the enclosure. Thus, an additional cured layer of uniform thickness can be readily formed and superimposed on the preceding layer. The enclosure may be formed by the light irradiation toward the liquid resin so as to self-grow incrementally each time an additional cross-sectional layer is formed.

A rotor of a coreless motor high in mechanical strength and durable against a high torque for a long time is provided. A non-metal disk member is provided for holding a cylindrically wound coil secured at its one axial end to the periphery of the disk in coaxial relation to a metallic rotary shaft coupled at one end to the disk member whereby the coupling force between the disk member and the rotary shaft is made high. The disk member and rotary shaft may be made into an integral body with the same metal material. Commutator segments for feeding a source current to the coil are provided on the disk member through an insulative layer.

Coil unit of coreless armature and method of manufacturing the same

A method of making cylindrical rotor coil for use in coreless motors is provided whereby the coil is of a reduced thickness with compressed coil turns enabling the stator magnetic gap distance to be reduced, thus enabling a higher flux density to be utilized highly efficiently in the gap. A radially inward force is applied to a cylindrically wound coil of an insulation coated wire so as to act against the outer periphery of the cylindrical coil, whereby respective turns of the wire are compressed together and flattened on their portions defining the respective peripheries. The force application is preferably repeated while varying the relative position of the cylindrical coil in its peripheral directions to the applied force. A mandrel is inserted into the coil before the coil is compressed. The outer diameter of the mandrel is less than the inner diameter of the coil so that the inner and outer diameters of the coil is compressed radially inwardly against the mandrel. The axial ends of the coil are engaged by flat surfaces during the radial compression, to flatten such axial ends.

Method of making rotor coil of coreless motor

A cylindrically-shaped multilayered coil structure comprises a plurality of diagonally wound coil sections extending circumferentially around the coil. Each section includes inner and outer layers. Each such layer includes initial and final turns. During winding of the coil, after the final turn of an inner layer is wound, the coil wire is wound to form a crossing part which extends back to the initial turn of the inner layer of that same section. Winding of the outer layer of that section is then performed. Subsequent coil sections are wound in a similar manner. The crossing parts are sandwiched between the respective inner and outer layers and comprise continuous unbroken sections of the coil wire.

Multilayered coil structure

An improved method of manufacturing coreless armatures typically for coreless motors, according to which a coreless cylindrical coil and an insulative disk member carrying commutator segments and rotary shaft are mechanically strongly coupled together without any adhesive agent, is provided. A radially inward compressive force is applied to the outer periphery of the coil within which the disk member is inserted at position for the coupling until coil windings partly bulge inwardly to clamp the peripheral edge of the disk member whereas a substantial part of the windings is compressed dense and into a smooth cylindrical shape.
