According to one embodiment, a reading apparatus is arranged between an operator and a customer face-to-face standing. The reading apparatus includes a main body, a first image capturing section for the operator, a second image capturing section for the customer, and a processing section, an output section. The first image capturing section is arranged at the main body and photographs a commodity. The second image capturing section is arranged at the main body and photographs the customer-holding object. The processing section executes sales registration. The output section acquires images captured by the first and second image capturing sections to output the images to the processing section. When transaction starting is instructed, the output section acquires the images captured by the first and second image capturing sections and adds an identifier to each image to be output to the processing section. The identifier represents a source capturing an image.

Reading apparatus

In accordance with one embodiment, a reading apparatus is arranged between an operator and a customer who stand in a face-to-face manner. The reading apparatus includes a main body, a first image capturing section for the operator, a second image capturing section for the customer, and a first display section for the operator. The main body has an opening on a surface thereof facing the operator. The first image capturing section is housed in the main body and photographs a commodity through the opening of the main body. The second image capturing section is arranged at the main body and photographs an object held by the customer. The first display section is arranged above the opening of the main body and displays information relating to sales registration processing. The main body has an upper surface inclined downwards from the operator side to the customer side, and the second image capturing section is arranged at the inclined upper surface.

In accordance with one embodiment, a reading apparatus, arranged at a position between an operator and a customer who stand in face to face manner, comprises a main body having an opening on a surface thereof facing the operator, a first image capturing section for operator, housed in the main body, configured to photograph a commodity through the opening of the main body to capture an image of the commodity, and a second image capturing section for customer, arranged on the main body, configured to photograph an object held by the customer to capture an image of the object.

In accordance with one embodiment, a reading apparatus, arranged at a position between an operator and a customer who stand in a face to face manner, comprises a main body having an opening on a surface thereof facing the operator, an image capturing section for operator, housed in the main body, configured to photograph a commodity through the opening of the main body to capture an image of the commodity, and a reading section for customer, arranged on the main body, configured to communicate with an object, which is held by the customer and is capable of realizing near field communication, to read specified additional information stored in the object.

A printer includes an upper unit which opens and closes about a fulcrum lying at a rear position of a lower unit, and a paper path which is opened by opening the upper unit. A sensor unit is attached to the lower unit and includes a lower sensor holder and an upper sensor holder which are disposed in opposition to each other via the paper path. The paper path can be opened by pivoting the upper sensor holder relative to the lower sensor holder. When the upper unit is closed, the upper sensor holder is also closed in accordance with a closing pivoting motion of the upper unit.
