A terminal block including an electric wire, a shield material, a terminal, a housing and a shield bracket. The shield material is configured to cover at least a part of the electric wire. The electric wire is connected to the terminal. The housing is configured to accommodate the terminal. The shield bracket is fixed to the housing. The shield bracket is configured to hold the shield material, and includes a folding portion. The folding portion is configured to hold an end of the shield material by sandwiching the end of the shield material. The folding portion has a notch hole.

Terminal block

A cable harness includes a plurality of cables and an electrically-conductive outer conductor surrounding the plurality of cables. The outer conductor is partially constituted by a conductor tube having a smooth outer peripheral surface. An outside water cutoff member configured to prevent water from coming inside a hole of a body panel is placed between the smooth outer peripheral surface of the conductor tube and an edge of the hole of the body panel. Further, an inside water cutoff member having through holes through which the plurality of cables of the conductor tube passes, and configured to close an end of the conductor tube is provided.

Cable harness and water cutoff structure

A grommet is formed having a funnel shaped portion and a tubular portion linked to a small diameter end portion of the funnel shaped portion. The grommet is inserted to an aperture of a car body panel after a wire harness is passed through and attached to the funnel shaped portion and the tubular portion, and a body latch groove provided on the external circumferential surface of the funnel shaped portion is latched to the car body panel. An extended tubular portion is provided that projects from the tubular portion, and extends inside the funnel shaped portion. A plurality of ribs is provided on an external circumferential surface of the extended tubular portion. The ribs include type one ribs having grooves on both surfaces of an element linking the rib to the extended tubular portion, and a type two rib having no groove.

Grommet and forming method for the grommet

A locking claw () to be locked to a through-hole (H) projects outwardly from a peripheral wall () of a resinous inner member (). At least one pair of locking holes () is formed on a locking flange part () projecting from the peripheral wall (). An annular concavity () (), on which the locking flange part () fits, is formed on an inner peripheral surface of a large-diameter cylindrical part (). Locking projections (--) project from a leading end of a side wall of the annular concavity (). The locking projections (--) are inserted into and locked with the locking holes (). Locking claws () project from the resinous inner member () and are locked to a through-hole (H) of the body panel (P). A pair of flexible locking pieces (), to be locked to the body panel (P), project from each of a shorter side and a longer side of an elliptic peripheral wall () of the resinous inner member () projecting from an open end of the large-diameter cylindrical part (). A leading end of the locking pieces () project outwardly from an intermediate position of an outer surface of the locking pieces (). The locking pieces on the longer side are curved longitudinally to form a circular arc shape.

Resin inner member-provided grommet

The grommet having a longitudinal axis includes a funnel shaped portion having a flared end, a narrowed end and a conical wall with external and internal conical faces. The external conical face includes an external circular groove having a groove base. The grommet further includes a tubular portion extending outwardly from a circular joint section formed at the narrowed end of the funnel shaped portion. The grommet is configured to mount a wire harness for vehicles containing a water-trapping zone, and to be installed into a through-hole formed in a body panel of a vehicle. The funnel-shaped portion includes at least one device for improving the flexibility of and/or space availability for the wire harness to be mounted including an extended tubular portion to hold the water-trapping zone of the wire harness, a structural configuration allowing the length along the longitudinal axis of the funnel shaped portion to be reduced such that the wire harness can be wired substantially alongside the body panel, and a plurality of funnel ribs having closely arranged first end sections that form a circular space around the tubular portion.

Grommet for a wire harness

A clamp has an annular strap section enclosing an interior space and defining an opening between opposite ends of the strap section. A pair of insertion engagement sections are at opposite ends of the strap section. The insertion engagement sections stand outwardly and oppose each other at opposite ends of the opening. Each insertion engagement section includes an axle plate portion projecting from an end of the opening. A wing portion is bent down from a distal end of the axle plate portion. A stepped latching portion is formed on a distal end of the wing portion. A dimension of the opening is set to be narrower than a diameter of a wire harness to be contained in the interior space. The clamp contains the wire harness in the interior space while the annular strap section is elastically bent outwardly to widen the opening. After receiving the wire harness in the interior space, the annular strap section returns to its original position by elastic recovery to narrow the opening, thereby holding the wire harness in the interior space. The pair of insertion engagement sections are inserted into a through-hole in the car body panel. After inserting the sections into the through-hole, the stepped latching portions engage a periphery of the through-hole to lock the wire harness on a car body.

Clamp

A grommet has a plurality of projecting strip portions provided on an outer peripheral surface of a tapered portion, extending in an axial direction of the tapered portion and being spaced from each other in a circumferential direction. The grommet also has a plurality of grooves on the outer projecting strip portions. The grooves extend in the circumferential direction, and are configured to generate tactile sensation when the grommet is mounted into the through hole of the automobile body panel.

Grommet

A grommet has a plurality of projecting strip portions provided on an outer peripheral surface of a tapered portion, extending in an axial direction of the tapered portion and being spaced from each other in a circumferential direction. The grommet also includes at least one sunken portion, which defines the outer peripheral surface of the tapered portion between adjacent projecting strip portions. The sunken portion includes a groove extending in an axial direction of the grommet.

A grommet has a plurality of inner projecting strip portions and a plurality of outer projecting strip portions on inner and outer peripheral surfaces of the tapered portion, respectively. The plurality of inner and outer projecting strip portions respectively extend in an axial direction of the tapered portion and are spaced from each other in a circumferential direction. The outer projecting strip portions are located opposing to the inner projecting strip portions. A projection amount of the outer projecting strip portions is changed at a contact point. At the contact point, when the grommet is inserted into a through hole, the grommet first contacts an inner peripheral surface of the through hole. The projection amount between the contact point and a large diameter side end of the projecting strip portions is smaller than a second projection amount between the contact point and a small diameter side end.

A grommet for a wire harness is provided that includes a small-diameter portion into which a wire harness is insertable and which is tightly contactable with the wire harness, a large-diameter portion having an engaging groove engageable with an inner peripheral edge of an automobile body panel, an extending portion extending past an end of the small-diameter portion along an axial direction thereof, and a lip portion radially projecting from an outer peripheral surface of the extending portion. The lip portion tightly contacts an inner peripheral surface of the insertion hole from inside when the grommet is mounted. The lip portion has a step portion including a first face and a second face respectively engageable with the inner peripheral surface and an outer surface adjacent to a peripheral edge of the insertion hole. Thus, the tightness of the seal between the grommet and a sound insulator secured on the automobile body panel is improved.

A clamp that is locked to a body panel by inserting a flexible locking blade portion thereof into an installing hole and utilizing a return of the locking blade portion to an original state thereof when the locking blade portion exceeds the installing hole. The clamp comprises a resinous material having Rockwell hardness at 100 or more and 150 or less and molded by one-piece molding. When the clamp fits on the body panel, a fit-on sound and consciousness of a return of the locking blade portion to the original state are generated. In the clamp, an increase of an insertion force that is generated by increasing a hardness of the clamp is offset by increasing a height of a projection portion with respect to a substrate portion and decreasing an angle of the locking blade portion formed by turning down a front end of the projection portion to decrease a projection amount of the locking blade portion in a lateral direction thereof.

The present invention is directed to a grommet that engages around an outer periphery of a wire harness and is inserted into a through hole of the automobile body. The grommet is provided with a generally cylindrical portion that tightly engages a wire of the wire harness and a generally conical portion extending from one end of the cylindrical portion. A thickened portion is provided around the conical portion in an enlarged end. A recess configured to be engaged with the automobile body is provided on an outer peripheral surface of the thickened portion. One side wall of the recess in the enlarged end extends outwardly and has a lip projecting from a tip of the extended side wall. A bottom surface of the recess has either a curved portion or an inclined portion so that an edge of the through hole of the automobile body panel is forcefully pressed into and distorts the curved or inclined portion. Another side wall, which faces toward the lip-side side wall (extending side wall), is configured to approach the lip-side side wall along a direction from the bottom surface to an opening end of the recess. The automobile body panel, which is engaged with the inner surface of the recess, contacts the grommet at the curved portion or the inclined portion of the recess, as well as the side wall and the lip. Thus, plural sealing points are provided between the grommet and an automobile body panel, thus, waterproofness is improved.
