The present invention provides effective supplement foods and safe pharmaceuticals, each having a hypotensive effect and anti-diabetic effect and no adverse effects. The supplement foods and pharmaceuticals of the present invention comprise squash extract mixed with onion extract. Synergistic effect of the two extracts can be expected by mixing the onion extract with the squash extract.

A motion-absorbing region is formed in a continuous form, and a passively rotatable fixing roller is moved into contact with the continuous form when the motion-absorbing region is formed. The motion-absorbing region absorbs the difference in relative speed between the fixing roller and the continuous form, keeping the difference or delay from being transmitted along the form to the region where a toner image is applied to the form. The electrophotographic transfer of the image to the continuous form is started before the pressure roller is moved into contact with the continuous form. The motion-absorbing region can be a slack region formed by feeding the form while the form is not under tension, or a resilient region formed by applying a resilient biasing device to the form while the form is under tension.

Form feeding stabilization device

A continuous form printer is provided with two rotary encoders, corresponding to different paper feed intervals, and mounted coaxially on a drive shaft. The drive shaft drives a tractor for feeding the paper. The rotary encoders are read by photo-interruptor sensors, and the sensor signals are selected by a selector. The selector is able to select either one of the sensor signals generated by the encoders, or a signal formed by performing an AND operation on the two sensor signals. A controller controls a motor driving the drive shaft according to the selected signal, the selected signal corresponding to a chosen feeding interval. The controller is further able to precisely adjust the leading edge of the paper to a predetermined position based on the selected sensor signal, a known paper length, and a paper top sensor.

Continuous form printer having multiple feed sensors and method

A sheet feed mechanism for an electrophotographic printer employing continuous fan-fold paper may be controlled between multiple operational modes. Following image formation on each page, the sheet feed may be stopped or advanced and then stopped. A desired mode is selected depending on whether the user desires to print more than one page successively or to separate printed pages. The sheet feed mechanism ensures that the printer does not needlessly advance the continuous sheet when there are pauses in data transmission or other pauses.

Sheet feed mechanism with control for advancement and retraction of paper

In an electrophotographic imaging apparatus, an imaging operation, to form an image on a continuous recording sheet, is executed. First, an unfixed toner image is transferred on the recording sheet, and fixed by a pair of fixing rollers, while the imaging operation is executed, the continuous sheet is fed. If all of the transferred images, i.e., unfixed images have been fixed, the fixing operation is stopped, and at least one of the fixing rollers is retracted.

Fixing device for electrophotographic imaging apparatus

An electrophotographic imaging device employs a continuous form sheet having a plurality of segments divided by perforations. An image is formed on a predetermined area of each of the segments in accordance with image data. It is discriminated whether an image is printed, in accordance with the image data, on a segment of the continuous form sheet which is to be discharged out of the imaging device. If it is discriminated that the segment is discharged without an image being printed in accordance with image data, a pair of marks are printed on the segment. The discriminating mechanism and the mark printing mechanism can be disabled when a page length of a sheet of the continuous form sheet has a predetermined value.

Electrophotographic imaging device with marking function

An electrophotographic imaging apparatus for forming an image on a continuous recording sheet, transfers a toner image to the continuous recording sheet using a transfer unit. A tractor feeds the recording sheet from the transfer unit to a fixing unit where heat and pressure are applied to the recording sheet to fuse the toner image. A controller controls the fixing unit so that heat and pressure are applied to the continuous recording sheet after the tractor starts feeding the continuous recording sheet, and controls the fixing unit to inhibit the application of heat and pressure to the continuous recording sheet before the tractor stops feeding the recording sheet.

Sheet overheat prevention mechanism for fixing device

In an electrophotographic imaging apparatus using a continuous form recording sheet, provided are a heat roller which is driven to rotate, and a back up roller driven by the heat roller to rotate, and a motor for driving the heat roller to rotate. In the imaging apparatus, the variation of the feeding speed of the recording sheet due to deformation thereof is detected, and the rotational speed of the motor is controlled so as to feed the recording sheet at a predetermined feeding speed.

Feeding device

An electrophotographic printer using a plurality of types of continuous recording forms having different page lengths, respectively, with perforations being provided between pages of each of the continuous forms. The printer is operated at least in a standby state and in a printing state. The printer comprises feed means for feeding the continuous-form recording sheet loaded into the printer, and control means for controlling the feed means in such a fashion that the perforations is located at a predetermined position when the printer is in the standby state, regardless of the page length of the recording form loaded into the printer. The predetermined position coincides either with an image-transfer position or an image-fixing position.
