A high-capacity magnetic memory capable of writing and reading a magnetic record in/from a magnetic recording film according to a perpendicular magnetic recording system at a high speed in a purely-electrically random access manner. In the magnetic memory, a writing-magnetic-field generating meansand a writing word lineare disposed relative to a perpendicular magnetic recording film, and a reading/writing bit-line conductor, a magnetoresistive-effect elementand a reading word lead conductorare laminated in order on a probe substrate opposed to the perpendicular magnetic recording film. A magnetic probecomposed of a carbon nanotube containing a soft magnetic material is disposed relative to the magnetoresistive-effect elementin a standing manner, and electrically connected to the reading/writing bit-line conductor. During a writing operation, a micro-discharge is generated in a micro-gap G between the edge of the magnetic probe and the magnetic recording film under a writing magnetic field to allow a writing current to flow through the micro-gap G so as to heat a micro-region of the magnetic recording film in such a manner that it goes through its Curie point to thereby become magnetized in the direction of the recording magnetic field to form a magnetic record therein. During a reading operation, the magnetic record is read out through the magnetic probe in accordance with a current variation in the magnetoresistive-effect element.

A dispersive type flexible luminescent base plate having a transparent electrode formed on one side of the plate, a layer of phosphor applied to the transparent electrode, and a second, flexible electrode disposed opposite to the transparent electrode. In a thermal head in which a heat generating portion is protruded by partially forming a glass glaze layer on an insulating substrate, a protruding portion is formed on the insulating substrate and the glass glaze layer is formed on the protruding portion. The heat generating portion can sufficiently be protruded to render the contact with the recording paper or ink ribbon favorable, thereby improving the heat efficiency.

The invention relates to improved paste for forming transparent, electrically conductive films, comprising an organometallic compound that forms a transparent, electrically conductive metal oxide upon calcination, an organic solvent, and a thickening agent, said paste being blended with selected monoazo type organic pigment having defined properties. The paste of the invention has good stability, permits easy printing of line patterns, and makes it possible to form transparent, electrically conductive films that have a low resistance, high transparency and good adhesion.

At least either of a luminescent layer and an insulating layer in an electroluminescent cell is made of the copolymer between vinylidene fluoride and propylene hexafluoride. In producing the electroluminescent cell, the luminescent layer is formed by applying a phosphorescent paste on a transparent electrode and heat-treating it, and the insulating layer is formed by applying an insulating paste on the luminescent layer and heat-treating it.
