The sheet processing apparatus is provided with: an apparatus main body that performs processing for a sheet; a sheet stacker on which a sheet transported from the apparatus main body is stacked in a first state where the sheet stacker is inclined with respect to a horizontal plane, and that is downwardly movable; and a moving-down unit that moves the sheet stacker down. The sheet stacker is provided so as to be detachable from the apparatus main body, and so as to change posture from the first state to a second state where the sheet stacker is less inclined relative to the first state.

The sheet processing apparatus is provided with: a sheet aligning part that accumulates and aligns sheets so as to generate a bundle of sheets; an edge stitching processor that performs an edge stitching process by which the generated bundle of sheets is stitched together at one edge of the bundle of sheets; an apparatus housing that includes an opening portion through which the bundle of sheets is discharged to an outside of the apparatus housing; a saddle stitching processor that performs, outside of the apparatus housing, a saddle stitching process by which the discharged bundle of sheets is stitched together at a center portion of the bundle of sheets in a transporting direction of the bundle of sheets; and a stacking tray that is provided below the opening portion and outside the apparatus housing, and on which the bundles of sheets subjected to the edge stitching process and the saddle stitching process are capable of being stacked.

A recording material processing apparatus includes an image forming apparatus, a post-processing device, a recording material judging section and a recording material transport controlling section. The recording material judging section judges whether the recording material used in the image forming apparatus has post-processing permissible size and thickness or not. And the recording material transport controlling section that, permits when the recording material judging section judges the recording material has the post-processing permissible size and thickness, the recording material to be transported into the post-processing device and prohibits when the recording material judging section judges the recording material does not have the post-processing permissible size and thickness, the recording material to be transported into the post-processing device.

A sheet transporting apparatus, includes: a sheet transportation path; a predetermined number of transport members disposed in a sheet transportation path; a side position regulating mechanism which regulates a position of a side edge of a sheet in the sheet transportation path, the side position regulating mechanism having a reference member configured to change a sheet regulation position; a base member on which at least the reference member is mounted; a first adjusting mechanism which adjusts a position of the reference member; and a second adjusting mechanism which adjusts a position of a base member.

Sheet transporting apparatus and sheet processing apparatus using the same

An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit which accommodates an image forming module for forming an image on a recording sheet supplied, and a sheet supply unit disposed in parallel with the image forming unit, having one or plural sheet supply trays and feeding recording sheets stocked in the sheet supply trays to the image forming unit side. Sheet feeding paths from at least some of the sheet supply trays to the image forming unit are constructed as a bypass feeding path extending from the farther sides of the trays from the image forming unit, and a cover which is opened or closed and disposed to face the bypass feeding path is provided to the farther side of a unit case, accommodating the trays, from the image forming unit.
