An illumination device includes a transparent light guide plate having an end face being an incident surface and a bend between the incident surface and a distal end face opposite to the incident surface, and a light source facing the incident surface. The light guide plate includes first prisms on a first surface extending from the incident surface to the bend to reflect light from the light source entering the light guide plate through the incident surface and emit light through a second surface opposite to the first surface, and second prisms on a third surface extending from the distal end face to the bend to reflect light from the light source entering the light guide plate through the incident surface and emit light through a fourth surface opposite to the third surface.

Illumination device and exhibition apparatus

A first stereoscopic image display device includes a light guide plate having a plurality of reflectors and causes an observer to recognize an undistorted stereoscopic image even when the observer views a stereoscopic image from a high angle with respect to a direction normal to the front surface of the light guide plate. In a plan view from a direction vertical to an outgoing surface, when four quadrants are specified for each of the reflectors, the four quadrants taking a position of each of the reflectors as an origin, the four quadrants being divided by two straight lines orthogonal to each other and inclined 45&#xb0; with respect to a direction in which the incident light is incident on each of the reflectors, light changed in the optical path by each of the reflectors is emitted to a quadrant adjacent to a quadrant on which incident light is incident.

Optical device and display apparatus

A display device includes a transparent light guide plate having an incident surface to display a plurality of patterns viewable in different directions and at least one light source facing a part of the incident surface. The light guide plate includes, on a first surface of the light guide plate, a plurality of prisms arranged along each of the plurality of patterns. The plurality of prisms have, for each pattern, reflection surfaces that reflect light emitted from the at least one light source and entering the light guide plate through the incident surface in a direction in which the pattern is viewable.

A vehicle display device is configured for installation to a vehicle and includes a mirror element configured to reflect external light entering from a front surface toward the front surface, and a light emitting device. The light emitting device includes a light source configured to emit light, and a light guide element configured to guide incident light from the light source. The light guide element includes an emission surface configured to output incident light, and an optical-path changing portion configured to change the optical path of incident light toward the emission surface. The mirror element and the light guide element are stacked at an outer surface of the mirror element to allow the optical-path changing portion to change the optical path.

Vehicle display device

A display device includes a light guide platehaving at least one incoming surface and a plurality of light sources (-to-) arranged to face any of the incoming surfaces. The light guide platehas a plurality of prismsthat is arrayed along each pattern in a plurality of patterns (to) displayed on one surfaceof the light guide plate and reflects light emitted from a light source corresponding to the pattern and entering the light guide plate through the incoming surface toward a direction within a prescribed range of angles with reference to a direction normal to the other surfaceof the light guide plate. A display device configured to show an image inside an instrument panel for a vehicle includes: a light source configured to emit light; and a light guide element configured to guide incident light from the light source. The light guide element includes: an emission surface configured to output incident light; and a plurality of light focusing portions configured to change the path of the incident light toward the emission surface, causing the light output to converge toward a convergence point or convergence line outside the light guide element or to radiate from a convergence point or convergence line outside the light guide element and thereby form an image outside the light guide element. The light guide element is configured to form light to thereby present an image.

A light guide plate, produced from material transparent to visible light, includes a plurality of prisms provided on one surface (a diffusion surface) thereof in a predetermined pattern. The plurality of prisms include a reflection surface that reflects visible light emitted from a light source and entering the light guide plate from an input surface toward another surface (an output surface). Each prism in the plurality of prisms is distributed so that the reflection surfaces of two prisms separated by a predetermined pitch are oriented in the same direction, and the reflections surfaces of two prisms that are closer than the predetermined pitch are oriented in mutually different directions.

Light guide plate, display device and game machine

A light guide plate according to one or more embodiment is formed of a panel transparent to visible light, and includes: a plurality of first prisms arranged along one surface of the light guide plate and distributed in a first pattern to reflect the visible light emitted from a first light source and entering the light guide from an input surface toward another surface of the light guide plate; and a plurality of second prisms arranged in a second pattern to reflect the visible light emitted from a second light source and entering the light guide from the input surface toward said other surface of the light guide plate. Each first prism includes a reflection surface directly facing the first light source, and each second prism includes a reflection surface directly facing the second light source.

A light guide body configured to guide light that enters therein has a light exit surface through which light from the at least one light source exits, and a plurality of linearly arranged pattern groups, each of which has a plurality of linearly arranged reflection patterns that reflect the light from the at least one light source toward the light exit surface. At least one of the plurality of linearly arranged pattern groups differs from at least another of the plurality of linearly arranged pattern groups in light amount difference. The light amount difference is a difference between an amount of light which reaches an observer of the light exit surface after being reflected by each of the plurality of linearly arranged pattern groups and an amount of light which reaches the observer through a region which is adjacent to each of the plurality of linearly arranged pattern groups.

Light guide body, light emitting apparatus, and amusement machine

A light guide body configured to guide at least first and second light having different colors that enter the light guide body from at least one light source has a light exit surface having a light emitting region that emits the first light and the second light from the at least one light source, and a reflection region that reflects, toward the light emitting region, the first light and the second light that enters the light guide body. The reflection region has a first pattern region where a plurality of first reflection patterns that reflects the first light are arranged, and a second pattern region where a plurality of second reflection patterns that reflects the second light are arranged. When viewed from a direction perpendicular to the light exit surface, the first pattern region and the second pattern region at least partially overlapping with each other.

A light guide body configured to guide light from a light source that enters the light guide body has a light exit surface having at least one light emitting region from which light from the light source is emitted, and a plurality of reflection patterns arranged in a reflection region of a counter surface facing the light exit surface. The reflection region is a region corresponding to the at least one light emitting region. The reflection region has at least a first reflection region that reflects light in a first direction, and a second reflection region that reflects light in a second direction differing from the first direction.

A display device has a liquid crystal panel that switches between a transparent state and an opaque state, a first light source, a light guide plate arranged on a back surface of the liquid crystal panel and made of a transparent material, the light guide plate having an incident surface facing the first light source and an outgoing surface facing the back surface of the liquid crystal panel, propagating light emitted from the first light source and incident through the incident surface, and outputting the light toward the liquid crystal panel from the outgoing surface, and a second light source configured to illuminate an object arranged on an opposite side to the liquid crystal panel with the light guide plate interposed therebetween.

An exit surface of a light guide plate includes a first position from which first emitted light is emitted within an angular range that causes the first emitted light to be applied to one eye and the vicinity thereof and a second position from which second emitted light is emitted within an angular range that causes the second emitted light to be applied to the other eye and the vicinity thereof. A straight line that passes through the first position and the center of the one eye and a straight line that passes through the second position and the center of the other eye intersect with each other.
