A liquefied gas reliquefier reliquefies boil-off gas resulting from evaporation of liquefied gas in a liquefied-gas storage tank to prevent a rise in the internal pressure of the liquefied-gas storage tank. The liquefied gas reliquefier includes a cooling unit for liquefying a secondary refrigerant, a liquefied-secondary-refrigerant feeding unit for feeding the liquefied secondary refrigerant, and a heat exchange unit disposed in the secondary-refrigerant circulating channel to condense the BOG by heat exchange between the BOG and the liquefied secondary refrigerant. The heat exchange unit is disposed near the liquefied-gas storage tank. The cooling unit includes a plurality of pulse-tube refrigerators. The number of pulse-tube refrigerators in operation and/or the cooling capacities of the individual pulse-tube refrigerators are controlled based on a measurement result from at least one of a thermometer, a pressure gauge, and a pump discharge flow meter installed in the liquefied-gas storage tank.

A superconducting rotating electrical machine configuring a motor or generator, includes a base member, a stator supported by the base member, a rotor rotatably provided relative to the stator and including a superconducting material, a rotary shaft supporting the rotor, a cooling portion cooling the stator, a low temperature container forming an accommodating chamber accommodating the stator, the rotor, and a coolant, the accommodating chamber being arranged within the base member, a vacuum heat insulation chamber arranged at an outer side of the accommodating chamber and thermally insulating the accommodating chamber with vacuum, and a bearing positioned a portion of the base member where the accommodating chamber is prevented from being provided and which is exposed to an ambient atmosphere including atmospheric air, the bearing rotatably supporting the rotary shaft.

Superconducting rotating electrical machine

A superconducting apparatus includes a superconducting member generating a magnetic field when an electric power is supplied to the superconducting member, a permeable yoke into which a magnetic flux of the magnetic field generated by the superconducting member permeates, and a conductive portion cooled to a low temperature state by a low temperature portion and cools the permeable yoke by thermally making contact therewith.

Superconducting apparatus

A superconducting apparatus includes a magnetic field generating portion including a superconducting coil, an extremely low temperature generating portion maintaining the superconducting coil at an extremely low temperature and in a superconducting state, a container defining a heat insulation chamber that accommodates the superconducting coil, a first terminal electrically connected to the superconducting coil and supplying an electric power to the superconducting coil, a second terminal connected to an external electric power source and supplying the electric power to the first terminal in a case where the magnetic field generating portion is driven, and a heat penetration preventing element holding one of the first and second terminals and thermally separating the first and second terminals from each other in a case where a driving of the magnetic field generating portion is stopped, the heat penetration preventing element restraining a heat penetration from the second terminal to the first terminal.

A vacuum container for housing therein a superconducting apparatus includes first and second partition walls made of magnetic-permeable nonmetallic materials, respectively, and facing each other to form a vacuum heat insulation chamber that is adapted to cover a superconductor that generates a magnetic flux. The first and second partition walls are exposed to relatively higher and lower temperatures, respectively. The first partition wall includes a radiation surface emitting thermal radiation while the second partition wall includes an absorption surface absorbing the thermal radiation. One of the radiation surface and the absorption surface is provided with a metal layer group in an exposed manner relative to the other of the radiation surface and the absorption surface. The metal layer group includes a plurality of metal layers spaced apart from one another and the nonmetallic material appears between the plurality of metal layers.

Superconducting apparatus and vacuum container for the same

A superconducting magnet system, such as an NMR apparatus, is outfitted with a compact-size refrigerator that prevents mechanical vibrations produced by the refrigerator from being transmitted to the superconducting magnet system. The refrigerator is in the form of a pulse tube refrigerator having a cold head and a pressure oscillation generating source. The cold head of the pulse tube refrigerator is connected directly to a vacuum insulation vessel of the superconducting magnet system. Cold generated from the cold head cools a cooling device, for example, a liquid helium tank for cooling the superconducting coil, or a heat penetration reducing device, for example, a liquid nitrogen tank, for reducing heat penetration from outside.
