A track chain has a plurality of links pivotally connected together in an endless train and a plurality of shoes connected to the links. A noise reduction device for the track chain has a spring connected to the back sides of adjacent shoes and is of a construction sufficient for applying an elastic resistance to pivotal movement of respective pairs of adjoining links.

Noise reduction device for use in the undercarriage of track-type

Each track shoe in a link-shoe assembly built in a track chain for a track-type vehicle is lined with an elastomer pad. One elastomer pad in one track shoe abuts another adjacent elastomer pad in compression in a manner that when adjacent track links effect a relative pivotal movement, the adjacent elastomer pads are further compressed together and produce an elastic resistance for track links, thereby eliminating a sag in a track chain. Preferably, each elastomer pad is secured to each track shoe through the medium of a plate spring. The size of the elastomer pad is so selected that adjacent pads are compressed together, when assembled. Alternatively, adjacent corners of elastomer pads may be rounded so as to provide a smooth contact therebetween, when the adjacent track links effect a relative pivotal movement, or may be covered with extended portions of the plate spring to reduce wear of the elastomer pads.

Noise reducing device in undercarriage of track-type vehicle

A noise silencer covering an air discharge opening in front of a radiator is used for noise control for an earthmoving vehicle. The silencer encloses a radiator grill which is removably attached to a forward end of an engine enclosure. The noise silencer is provided with upper and lower discharge openings with the open area of the upper opening being larger than that of the lower opening. The walls of the silencer are lined with sound absorbing materials.

Noise silencer assembly

A device for elastically supporting an upper structure on a frame and thus reducing the vibration which is transmitted from the frame to the upper structure. The device comprises a main elastic member having a through-hole in its center, the main elastic member including a small-diameter portion at its upper part to define its shoulder, the center of the lower end of the main elastic member projecting beyond its peripheral part by a predetermined distance; a tubular inward rigid member having substantially the same length as the through-hole of the main elastic member, which rigid member is disposed within the through-hole with its outer wall being fixed to the inner wall of the through-hole; an outward rigid member fixed to the peripheral side wall of the main elastic member; a substantially annular elastic member having a central through opening adapted to receive the small-diameter portion of the main elastic member; and a bolt whose axial part can be inserted in the inward rigid member and a nut to secure the bolt. According to this device, the upper structure is elastically supported chiefly by the elasticity of the main elastic member.
