A clip for securing a manifold tube to an automotive heat exchanger has a portion which secures to a support plate of the heat exchanger without brazing. The base of the clip has a lip which inserts over an edge of the plate. A loop joins the base and extends around the tube. A leg joins the other end of the loop and has a lip which is inserted over an opposite edge of the plate. A fastener secures the first and second ends of the loop to each other to grip the tube and hold the lips in gripping engagement with the edges of the plate.

Heat exchanger tube clip

A heat exchanger tank partition device in which tank portions are partitioned into chambers by partition plates held between a pair of separable tank plates. These partition plates can be located into the required position, which facilitates assembly and provides good precision and brazing integrity. The result is a simple and secure arrangement which minimizes the risk of leakage of the heat exchange medium occurring.

A condenser of the type having a receiver tank formed integrally with the condenser has each of two opposed header tanks composed of a tube-receiving plate and a tank plate. The tank plate of one of the header tanks is formed of an extruded section member having a hollow portion forming a receiver tank and the extruded section member further has auxiliary passages. The tube-receiving plates of the header tanks are structurally independent so that formation of tube-receiving holes and application of cladding material can be performed for each tube-receiving plate, and a condenser having a plurality of flow paths can be constructed. In addition, if heat transfer between the hollow portion and the one header tank has a negative effect on the operation of the condenser, a heat insulating space is formed between the hollow portion and the one header tank for controlling heat transfer therebetween.

A structure for mounting a bracket used to mount a heat exchanger 1 in which a plurality of tubes 9 are interposed between a pair of header pipes 2, 3 and a plurality of radiator fins 10 are interposed respectively between the tubes 9, or used to mount a pipe which is provided in such heat exchanger 1. In the structure, each of the header pipes 2, 3 includes a trough-shaped tank plate 5 in the outer side thereof and the tank plate 5 includes engagement means in the end portion thereof. A bracket 16 is mounted to the peripheral surface of the tank plate 5. The bracket 16 includes a pair of holding portions 17a, 18a which can hold therebetween the two end portions of the tank plate 5. Each of the holding portions 17a, 18a includes engagement means which is engageable or fittable with the engagement means in the tank plate 5.

Heat exchanger bracket mounting structure

A heat exchanger includes a pair of header tanks (4) placed in parallel to each other in a plane; a row of parallel tubes (2) placed in the plane and connected at opposite ends to the header tanks; a plurality of partitions (6, 6') provided in the header tanks to divide each header tank into a plurality of compartments (8a) along the length of the header tank thereby forming a plurality of refrigerant passages (2A, 2B) each consisting of a plurality of multitube paths each having a plurality of the parallel tubes; and a pair of additional tanks (7) each attached to each of the header tanks to form a chamber (8) which communicates with the refrigerant passages through ports formed on the header tank whereby refrigerant is distributed into the plurality of refrigerant passages to provide the reduced flow resistance of refrigerant.

Vehicle-loaded parallel flow type heat exchanger

A sturdy heat exchanger, having a variable configuration, is constructed by separately building a primary heat exchanger and an auxiliary heat exchanger, connecting the primary heat exchanger and the auxiliary heat exchanger via brackets mounted on the header pipes of the primary heat exchanger and on the auxiliary heat exchanger, and fluid connecting the header pipes via a connecting pipe. On the tops and bottoms of the primary heat exchanger and of the auxiliary heat exchanger, a pair of reinforcing side plates are mounted, and by engaging the opposing reinforcement plates to assemble the primary heat exchanger to the auxiliary heat exchanger, the heat exchanger's sturdiness is further reinforced, thereby preventing the header tanks from deforming the tubes.

Heat exchanger apparatus having fluid coupled primary heat exchanger

A laminate type heat exchanger includes a plurality of tubular elements each formed of a pair of generally flat stamped plates joined together in an abutting manner, a plurality of fins, the tubular elements and the fins being superposed one upon another in an alternate manner to form a laminate structure and a pair of end plates attached to outermost ones of the tubular elements at opposite ends of the laminate structure. The end plates each have a joining section joined to an associated one of the outermost tubular elements, and a swelled main portion. The joining section of each end plate includes a joining portion abutting against a portion of one side surface of an associated outermost stamped plate, which portion corresponds in location to a portion of a recess formed in the other side surface of the associated outermost stamped plate. The joining portion is shaped and sized such that at least one row of depressions formed in the one side surface of the associated outermost stamped plate communicates with one of the interior of the swelled main portion of the end plate and the outside of the heat exchanger.

Laminate type heat exchanger

A laminate type heat exchanger includes a plurality of tubular elements each formed of a pair of generally flat stamped plates joined together in an abutting manner, a plurality of fins, the tubular elements and the fins being superposed one upon another in an alternate manner to form a laminate structure, and a pair of end plates attached to outermost ones of the tubular elements at opposite ends of the laminate structure. The end plates each have a joining section joined to an associated one of the outermost tubular elements, and a swelled main portion. The joining section of each end plate includes a joining portion abutting against a portion of one side surface of an associated outermost stamped plate, which portion corresponds in location to a portion of a recess formed in the other side surface of the associated outermost stamped plate. The joining portion is shaped and sized such that at least one row of depressions formed in the one side surface of the associated outermost stamped plate communicates with one of the interior of the swelled main portion of the end plate and the outside of the heat exchanger.

A laminated heat exchanger includes a plurality of parallel spaced tube elements with tanks at one end thereof, and fins disposed between adjacent tube elements. Each tube element has a pair of joint portions projecting from the other end thereof toward two adjacent tube elements and held in abutment with the joint portions of the two adjacent tube elements. The joint portion has a corrugated shape composed of alternate parallel grooves and ridges and hence is rigid enough to withstand external forces. The tube element includes a guide member disposed on a front end of the partition wall for directing a heat transferring medium toward the opposite corners of a guide channel. With the guide member, the heat transferring medium is distributed uniformly over the entire region of the guide channel.
