Provided is a boot seal for a variable compression ratio engine having an inner layer free from tears or creases. The boot seal comprises a boot body having a cylinder-attaching part, a crankcase-attaching part and a connecting part for connecting these parts, and a rigid plate disposed in at least one of the cylinder-attaching part and the crankcase-attaching part and having a through hole. The boot body comprises an outer layer formed by injection molding a rubber material, and an inner layer formed of fluorine-containing rubber. An injection gate for the outer layer is located at a portion of the outer layer opposing the rigid plate. Both an outer surface and an inner surface of at least a portion of the rigid plate having the through hole are covered with the rubber material supplied from the injection gate.

Boot seal for variable compression ratio engine

A structure of an opening section of a fuel tank, which is capable of detaching a tank cap without damaging positioning projections provided in the tank cap. The opening section has a cylindrical portion extending outwardly from a tank main body, and a metallic annular tank cap engaging member having a plurality of engaging holes is attached to the cylindrical portion. A plurality of engaging claw parts of a metallic annular attaching member are engaged in the engaging holes of the tank cap engaging member to hold the tank cap with the attaching member and the tank cap engaging member. The tank cap has tank cap positioning projections, and the tank cap engaging member has positioning holes for insertion of the tank cap positioning projections, and at least one engaging claw part and at least one engaging hole are respectively made longer in a circumferential direction than remaining engaging claw parts and remaining engaging holes.

Structure of opening section of fuel tank

A protective plate installation structure includes a base welded to a protection member, a clip for engaging the base, and a protective plate for protecting the protection member. The base has a first engaging portion, and a receiving portion. The clip has a second engaging portion at one end for engaging the first engaging portion when the clip is moved along an axis of the base, and an umbrella portion formed at the other end thereof. The protective plate has an installation opening so that when the clip is attached to the base through the installation opening, the protective plate is held between the umbrella portion and the receiving portion.

There is provided a liquid filled type vibration isolator in which damping action for both engine idling vibration and engine shake is carried out with the use of a single orifice. In the liquid filled type vibration isolator comprising a rubber-like insulator for absorbing and isolating vibration transmitted from an oscillating body, a main chamber having a chamber wall formed by a part of the insulator, and hermetically charged therein with liquid, an auxiliary chamber connected to the main chamber through the intermediary of an orifice and having a chamber wall a part of which is formed by a first diaphragm, a partition member partitioning between the main chamber and the auxiliary chamber, a working chamber defined and formed with respect to the main chamber by means of a second diaphragm, wherein the second diaphragm has a deforming stiffness which is higher than that of the first diaphragm. The liquid in the orifice effects resonant oscillation with a vibration input during engine idling operation.

Liquid filled type vibration isolator

A liquid-filled type vibration isolator, having a vibration isolation mechanism, formed between first and second coupling members to be mounted to a vehicle body-side member, including: a rubber-like insulator for absorbing and isolating vibrations from the vibration member; a main chamber, whose chamber walls are formed by a portion of the insulator, and which is filled with liquid; a sub-chamber, whose chamber walls are partially formed by a first diaphragm, coupled to the main chamber through a first orifice; a partitioning member for partitioning between the main chamber and the sub-chamber; a second diaphragm for partitioning between a third liquid chamber to be coupled to the main chamber through a second orifice, and a balance chamber into which negative pressure is introduced.

Liquid-filled type vibration isolator

A liquid-sealing type vibration isolating apparatus including a first coupling member attached to a vibrator; a second coupling member attached to a member in a vehicle body; an insulator interposed between the coupling members, for absorbing and isolating vibration from the vibrator; a vibration isolating mechanism composed of a main chamber having a chamber wall formed by a portion of the insulator, and charged therein with liquid, an auxiliary chamber communicated with the main chamber through an orifice and having a chamber wall a portion of which is formed by a first diaphragm, an air chamber partitioned from the auxiliary chamber across the first diaphragm, and an equilibrium chamber partitioned from the auxiliary chamber across a second diaphragm; a selector for carrying out change-over operation so as to introduce negative pressure or the atmospheric pressure into the equilibrium chamber in the vibration isolating mechanism control for controlling the change-over operation of the selector, a negative pressure tank provided between a negative pressure source and the selector, and a check valve formed between the negative pressure tank and the negative pressure source, for allowing introduction of only negative pressure, and a solenoid mechanism for driving the selector.

Liquid-sealing type vibration isolating apparatus

A hydraulic damping device including a main damping body protected by a cylindrical portion with downwardly extending side walls. The damping device includes a flexible membrane which has a step portion, a main liquid chamber, an auxiliary liquid chamber and a partition formed in a cup-shape. A passage is made between the step portion of the flexible membrane and the interior of the partition. The partition divides the liquid chamber into a main liquid chamber and an auxiliary liquid chamber. The partition also includes a hole formed therein, a channel and a concave recess formed on the partition side wall between the hole and the channel. This structure permits the main liquid chamber to be connected to the auxiliary liquid chamber through the hole, the passage and the channel. The membrane is inserted into the interior of a cylindrical portion of the main damping body together with the partition and the damping liquid to define a simply constructed sub-assembly. This sub-assembly is subsequently easily inserted into the interior of a cylindrical portion of the supporting member by pressurized insertion.

Hydraulic damping device

In a fluid-filled vibration damping device, a rubber material is injection molded in the upper half of an inner space of a cylindrical insert plate 1 to form a damping rubber member 2 through which an inner tube 3 is retained. A concave 21 is formed in the center of the damping rubber member 2 in such a way that it extends from the periphery to a point close to the inner tube 3 such that both sidewalls thereof are left intact. The concave 21 provides a main fluid compartment A when the insert plate 1 is pressed and fixed in the outer tube. The insert plate 1 has a large concave in the lower half thereof and a plurality of openings are made in the sidewall of the concave 12 except for the bottom wall 121 thereof. A rubber layer 5, injection molded in the concave, has a central part of its width left intact in block form and part of this rubber layer provides a thin rubber wall that covers the openings in the sidewall of the concave 12 which face a cavity 53. When the insert plate 1 is pressed and fixed in the outer tube 4, a sub-fluid compartment B is formed between the outer tube 4 and the thin rubber wall which serves as a defining wall of the compartment B, and this compartment communicates with the main fluid compartment A via a flow constricting channel F around the insert plate 1.
