An ion exchanger for a cooling system of a fuel cell system includes: a communicating pipe part with the two ends thereof configured respectively to be connectable to predetermined piping arranged in the cooling system, and including a substantially linear shaped first flow path; and a storage case including a second flow path configured such that, when a part of the coolant introduced into the communicating pipe part branches from the coolant of the communicating pipe part and flows toward the second flow path, such partial coolant, after introduced into the second flow path, is allowed to flow therethrough and join again the remaining coolant of the communicating pipe part, while ion exchange resin is stored in the second flow path, wherein an introduction device for introducing the coolant into the second flow path is arranged in the inside of the communicating pipe part.

A fuel cell stack includes a stack; a case that accommodates the stack; and end plates arranged in the outside of a stacking direction and formed with fluid flow path holes penetrating in the stacking direction an accommodating groove for accommodating a seal member for sealing a part between the accommodating groove and the case. The end plates have a metal member formed with the fluid flow path holes, a first recess and a second recess that continues to the first recess, and a resin layer that continuously covers an inner peripheral wall surface of the fluid flow path holes, a surface that faces the stack, a part that includes at least an outer peripheral side end in the first recess, and the second recess, in the metal member. The resin layer is formed with the accommodating groove in a surface corresponding to the end surface of the case in a part covering the part that includes at least the outer peripheral side end in the first recess. The second recess accommodates a part of the resin layer to restrict the resin layer.

Fuel cell stack

A fuel cell stack comprises a stacked body, an end plate and a case configured such that the stacked body is placed therein. The end plate is arranged to cover an end face of the stacked body in a stacking direction and an end face of the case in the stacking direction and is fastened to the end face of the case. A placement groove is formed in at least one surface out of two surfaces of the end plate and the case opposed to each other, such that a seal member is placed in the placement groove. The end plate includes a resin layer formed to continuously cover an inner circumferential wall surface of the fluid flow path hole, a surface of the end plate opposed to the stacked body, and an outer circumferential side end of the placement groove.

A bus bar holding member comprises a plurality of bus bars arranged to connect terminals of respective batteries in each battery array group in parallel, and a resin support member comprising a resin stacking section which is stacked on a surface of the plurality of bus bars and a resin intervening section which intervenes between the plurality of bus bars to electrically insulate the plurality of bus bars from each other. The bus bar comprises a base plate on which the resin stacking section is stacked, and a jagged edge formed along an edge of the base plate. The jagged edge is formed in a wavy shape crossing a reference line, which is a straight line along an array direction of the batteries in each battery array group between an adjacent pair of the battery array groups.

A bus bar module is located on one end of each battery of a group of batteries that have terminals at their ends. The bus bar module includes a bus bar, which is made of a conductive metal, and electrically connects the terminals of the respective batteries in the battery group, and an insulating laminate portion that is laminated, at least on an inner surface of the bus bar facing the ends of the batteries and an outer surface, which is opposite to the inner surface of the bus bar. The insulating laminate portion has an insulating material that includes thermoplastic elastomer and/or rubber.

A conduction-breaking device breaks conduction between a pair of devices in an electric circuit. The conduction-breaking device includes a conductive body having a cuttable portion, an arc-extinguishing chamber having a pair of fixed blades, a gas generator, a cutting member having a pair of movable blades, and a deforming mechanism. When the cuttable portion is cut at two positions by the fixed blades and the movable blades, the cuttable portion forms a separated piece, which is separated from the electric circuit, and first and second remaining portions, which remain connected with the electric circuit. The separated piece has cut ends at opposite ends. The deforming mechanism deforms the separated piece such that the cut ends of the separated piece are located on a leading side in a moving direction of the cutting member with respect to a part of the separated piece between the cut ends.

Conduction-breaking device

A battery module includes a battery group configured of a plurality of cylindrical batteries, a holder configured to retain the battery group so that the respective batteries are bundled in parallel to each other, and a casing being closed by the holder and including a storing space for housing the battery group. The casing includes an opposing wall portion facing the holder, and the opposing wall portion includes hole portions that retain the batteries by peripheries or inner circumferential surfaces of the hole portions. The battery module also includes guiding portions formed on the peripheries or the inner circumferential surfaces of the hole portions that are configured to guide the batteries into the storing space within the casing by causing the batteries to come closer to centers of the hole portions, such that central axis lines of the batteries pass through the centers of the hole portions.

A battery adhesion-fixation structure includes battery cells, a holder, an adhesive agent, bus bars, and an insulator. The holder includes holder holes for holding the battery cells therein. The adhesive agent adheres the battery cells with the holder within the holder holes. The bus bars electrically connect the battery cells with each other. The insulator intervenes between the bus bars and the holder. The bus bars include a bus-bar hole, and a terminal tab. The bus-bar hole faces face-to-face to an electrode terminal of the battery cells. The terminal tab projects into the bus-bar hole to be electrically connected with the electrode terminal. The insulator includes a face, and a dent opening in the face. The face opposes to the holder. The dent opens in the face, and accommodates the adhesive agent overflown toward the insulator therein.

Battery adhesion-fixation structure

A breaker includes conductors, each including an elongated flat cut portion, cutting chambers arranged in correspondence with the cut portions, a single cutting member that includes blades to cut the cut portions in the cutting chambers, a gas generator that generates gas to move the cutting member toward the cut portions, and an arc attenuation portion located between the two cut portions that are adjacent to each other. The conductors are located between two devices. Each cut portion is cut to form two separated cutting ends and electrically disconnect the devices. The arc attenuation portion attenuates an arc generated between the two cutting ends of one of the two adjacent cut portions and the two cutting ends of the other cut portion.

Breaker

The conduction breaking device includes a conductive body, a fixed blade, an arc-extinguishing chamber, a gas generator, a cutting member, and a cutting delaying portion. The fixed blade and the arc-extinguishing chamber are located on one side of the cuttable portion with respect to a thickness direction of the cuttable portion in the conductive body. The gas generator is located on the opposite side of the cuttable portion with respect to the thickness direction. The cutting member is arranged between the cuttable portion and the gas generator and includes a movable blade. The cutting delaying portion is provided at the movable blade and configured to allow a part of an area of the cuttable portion that is, in the width direction, closer to the center than the edges are to the center to be cut after the other parts are cut.

Conduction breaking device

A battery pack comprises: a battery holding member provided to have battery holding holes and configured to bind a plurality of batteries; a first bus bar arranged to electrically connect with terminals on the first side of the respective batteries; a second bus bar arranged to electrically connect with terminals on a second side in the axial direction of the respective batteries; a bus bar holding member configured to hold the second bus bar and constitute a wall surface on the second side of the casing; and a sealing sheet member configured to have a plurality of terminal exposing holes formed corresponding to the respective batteries and cause peripheries of the respective terminal exposing holes to come into contact with the end faces of the respective batteries, so as to prevent leakage of a gas from inside of the casing toward the second bus bar. The sealing sheet member has a deformation dividing part provided around at least part of the plurality of terminal exposing holes.

Battery pack

A resistance connecting device includes a case inside of which a chamber is formed. The chamber includes inside an activating unit, a gas generating unit, a first connecting portion, and a second connecting portion. The first connecting portion and the second connecting portion extend from the inside to the outside of the case in a mutually separated state and are exposed in the chamber. The activating unit is held at a first position that does not cause contact with either of the connecting portions when the gas generating unit has not been activated and moves up to a second position to cause contact with both of the connecting portions as a result of activation of the gas generating unit. The activating unit, at the second position, functions as a resistor having a predetermined electrical resistance, and connects the connecting portions to one another.

Resistance connecting device

A conduction breaking device is provided that uses gas from a gas generator to move a cutter block in the thickness direction of a cuttable portion, thereby cutting the cuttable portion between the moving cutter block and a cutting edge portion of a cutting chamber. The cutter block is attached to the cuttable portion such that, before generation of gas by the gas generator, a part of the cutter block is located in the cutting chamber and at a position close to the cutting edge portion in a direction along the surface of the cuttable portion.

A high thermal conduction insulator exhibiting thermal conductivity, insulating properties and heat radiating properties is produced by supplying a molding material composed of an insulating resin, a diamagnetic material powder and a paramagnetic material (inclusive of ferromagnetic material) powder, and exhibiting fluidity into a mold, and applying a magnetic field to the molding material in the mold to orient clusters, each being composed of diamagnetic material particles of the diamagnetic material powder, which are joined together like a chain, along directions of lines of a magnetic force, and draw the paramagnetic material (inclusive of ferromagnetic material) powder with the magnetic force along one of mold surfaces of the mold, thereby forming a heat radiating layer. Heat transmitted from a facing member to one surface of the insulator is speedily transmitted to the other surface thereof via the clusters, and is effectively radiated from the heat radiating layer existing in the other surface.
