A computer including a processor and a memory and a storage device that is connected to the computer and stores data has an FPGA that acquires data and an operation command from a control unit that controls reading and writing with respect to a non-volatile semiconductor storage unit to perform a data operation. The computer generates and transmits the operation command from an access request that has been received to the storage device. The computer receives execution results for the operation command from the storage device, and when the number of execution results for the operation command reaches a prescribed value, instructs the FPGA to detect a soft error, receives all execution results with respect to the generated operation command, and if there is no soft error, transmits the execution results.

A storage apparatus has a plurality of hardware engines which send and receive information to and from a controller, which, on the condition of acquiring a request command from a host, determines identifying information of the request command, executes data I/O processing to the storage device according to the request command when first identifying information has been added to the request command and when second identifying information has been added to the acquired request command, transfers the request command to the hardware engine, acquires the data requested by the hardware engine from the storage device and transfers the acquired data to the hardware engine. In a display driver, a first backlight control unit using a histogram and a second backlight control unit using an optical sensor can be used in combination. The display driver includes a PWM generating unit setting a control signal value consisting of a product of a luminance rate of X % and a luminance rate of Y % as a luminance rate of a control signal for controlling a backlight with respect to maximum backlight luminance when a luminance rate of a control signal obtained by first backlight control with respect to the maximum backlight luminance is X % and a luminance rate of a control signal obtained by second backlight control with respect to the maximum backlight luminance is Y %.

A display drive circuit of the invention has: an initial-color-gamut-apex-coordinate-storing unit capable of storing initial color gamut apex coordinates; a user-target-color-gamut-apex-coordinate-storing unit capable of storing user target color gamut apex coordinates; a saturation-expansion-coefficient-deciding unit for deciding expansion coefficients of saturation data based on the initial and user target color gamut apex coordinates; and an expansion unit for expanding saturations of display data based on the saturation expansion coefficients. The expansion coefficients of saturation data are decided based on the initial and user target color gamut apex coordinates, and saturations of display data are expanded according to the expansion coefficients. Thus, the degree of expanding the saturations can be controlled for each color gamut or each of R, G and B color properties of an LC display panel.

Display system

The display driving circuit includes: an OD (OverDrive) calculation circuit operable to generate an OD driving signal for improving the response characteristic of a display device according to display image data; a drive-output circuit operable to supply an OD driving signal to the display device; and a compression circuit operable to store compressed display data in a memory. The compression circuit includes a DCT calculation module operable to execute DCT (Discrete Cosine Transform) of display image data, and an entropy coding module operable to execute variable length entropy coding of DCT conversion display data. Preferably, the display driving circuit further includes a decompression circuit operable to supply an OD calculation circuit with display data resulting from decompression of compressed display data read out the memory.
