Disclosed is a digital VTR comprising means for recording a cue mark in a position, corresponding to a predetermined position in the middle of each recording block, on a control track of a magnetic tape at the time of recording, means for stopping, at the time point where actual data in the recording block are stored in predetermined amounts in a memory, the acceptance of the data in the memory and accelerating a capstan motor at the time of fast-forward play, and means for decelerating the capstan motor when the cue mark is detected.

The invention provides a magnetic recording-reproduction device which comprises a CTL signal recording circuit for recording a control signal, a CTL duty setting circuit for setting a variable duty ratio for the control signal, a CTL signal reproduction circuit for reproducing the control signal, a CTL duty identification circuit for identifying the duty ratio of the reproduced control signal, and a system control circuit for controlling the operation of the device. The system control circuit decodes magnetic tape management information superposed on the control signal based on the result of identifying the duty ratio by the identification circuit when a command is given to record video signals, and controls validation/invalidation of the command according to the result of decoding.

Magnetic recording-reproduction device

For intermittent slow activation, jitter is caused for reproduced image due to increase in the relative speed of a magnetic tape and a magnetic head. To solve this problem, a rotating speed of a drum motor,must also be increased. Then, a microcomputer,generates a control output PWM using as PWM data a value obtained by adding a prescribed value to a command value of a normal rotating speed, so as to perform correction control for activation. Thereby, correction to constant speed can always be achieved even when there is a difference between operating points of drum motor,due to the change in PWM data at the normal speed. Further, since jitter is caused for reproduced image due to the change in the relative speed of the magnetic tape and the magnetic head in braking a capstan motor,jitter is corrected by subtracting a prescribed value from the drum control PWM data at the normal rotating speed.
