The plurality of individual electrodes includes: a first individual electrode array including a plurality of first individual electrodes aligned in a first direction; and a second individual electrode array including a plurality of second individual electrodes aligned in the first direction. The common electrode includes: a plurality of first facing portions which are demarcated to correspond to the plurality of first electrodes, respectively; a plurality of second facing portions which are demarcated to correspond to the plurality of second electrodes, respectively; and a connecting portion located between the plurality of first facing portions and the plurality of second facing portions, and connecting the plurality of first facing portions and the plurality of second facing portions.

An image forming apparatus including an image forming portion that forms an image on a surface of a sheet, a feeding device that feeds the sheet in a sheet feeding direction, a sheet receiving portion, and an engagement portion selectively moves between a first position and a second position. When the engagement portion is in the first position, the engagement portion engages the leading end of the sheet. When the engagement portion is in the second position, the engagement portion does not engage the sheet. When the engagement portion is in the first position, the engagement portion engages a leading end of the sheet before a trailing end of the sheet passes the feeding device. The sheet receiving portion receives the sheet after the engagement portion engages the leading end of the sheet.

Liquid droplet jetting apparatus and program for controlling jetting a liquid droplet

An object of the invention is to provide a liquid droplet ejecting apparatus capable of determining a type of droplet to be ejected through each nozzle at an arbitrary ejection timing, with consideration of not only an influence of droplet ejections at preceding and following ejection timings, but also crosstalk between a nozzle column and another nozzle column. A data generation circuit of the liquid droplet ejecting apparatus includes a first storage unit, a second storage unit, and a droplet type determination unit. The first storage unit stores therein information on a plurality of types of droplets. The second storage unit stores therein time-sequence information of a type of droplet which information associates each ejection timing of each nozzle with one of the types of droplets. The droplet type determination unit determines a type of droplet to be associated with an arbitrary ejection timing of each nozzle, with reference to an ejection plan of the nozzle included in the time-sequence information, and a type of droplet associated with the arbitrary ejection timing of another nozzle.

Liquid droplet ejecting apparatus

A liquid droplet ejecting apparatus includes an ejecting head configured to eject liquid droplets onto an ejected target element to form a of dots arranged at predetermined dot intervals in dot columns. The liquid droplet ejecting head has a flow passage unit including individual flow passages including a first individual flow passage and a second individual flow passage, at least one common liquid chamber in fluid communication with each individual flow passage; and a plurality of nozzles, including a first nozzle fluidly communicating with the first individual flow passage and a second nozzle fluidly communicating with the second flow passage. A control unit causes a liquid droplet to be ejected from the first nozzle, then moves the ejecting head less than the dot interval, then subsequently suspends the first nozzle from ejecting, and ejects a liquid droplet from the second nozzle.

A piezoelectric actuator, a cavity plate, a base plate, and a supply plate are common in normal specifications, black high-speed focused specifications, and color-image focused specifications, but other plates such as a manifold plate, a damper plate, a spacer plate, and a nozzle plate are produced according to these specifications. A center of a communicating hole which connects a pressure chamber and a nozzle is gradually shifted in a paper feeding direction, and a position at which the nozzle is formed is also shifted in the paper feeding direction. Accordingly, it is possible to decrease the number of manufacturing lines and to reduce the manufacturing cost as compared to those in a conventional method of manufacturing a liquid droplet jetting head.

Liquid droplet jetting head and method of manufacturing liquid droplet jetting head

A droplet ejection device including: a cavity unit having nozzles and pressure chambers; an actuator unit including actuators corresponding to the respective pressure chambers, such that each actuator is operable to change a volume of the corresponding pressure chamber whereby a droplet is ejected from the corresponding pressure chamber through the corresponding nozzle; and a controller for controlling ejection of the droplet from each pressure chamber. The actuators are provided by at least four electrodes and a piezoelectric body. The pressure chambers are sorted into groups in at least two different manners, such that each pressure chamber belongs to at least two groups formed by sorting in the respective different manners. Each of the electrodes is arranged to correspond to at least one of the pressure chambers belonging to one of the groups formed by sorting in a corresponding one of the at least two different manners, so that each pressure chamber corresponds to at least two of the electrodes. The controller controls an electric voltage to be applied to each of the electrodes, for controlling ejection of the droplet from each of the pressure chambers.

Droplet ejection device

An ink-jet head includes a plurality of pressure chambers arranged in a paper feeding direction, and two manifold channels extended along the paper feeding direction. The manifold channel includes a first area which communicates with the pressure chambers, and a second area which is connected to an end of the first area, on a side opposite to an ink inflow port, and communicates with a plurality of dummy nozzles. A width of the second area is more than a width of the first area, and an acoustic capacitance of the second area, per unit length in the paper feeding direction is higher than an acoustic capacitance of the first area, per unit length in the paper feeding direction. Accordingly, it is possible to attenuate efficiently a pressure wave in the manifold channel.
