A computer-implemented method for braking control of a host vehicle includes detecting a panic brake operation based on a change of a braking pressure of a braking system of the host vehicle with respect to time. The method includes detecting a second vehicle driving behind the host vehicle and in the same lane as the host vehicle, and determining a time-to-collision value between the host vehicle and the second vehicle. Further, the method includes determining a deceleration rate of the host vehicle based on a driver braking pressure provided by operation of a brake pedal of the braking system. The method includes controlling the braking system based on the time-to-collision value and the deceleration rate.

System and method for vehicle control in tailgating situations

Provided is a pedal reactive force controller including: a reaction force adding unit for adding reaction force to a pedal operated by a driver; and an information transmission unit for converting a depression amount of the pedal detected by a stroke sensor into visual information, and conveying the depression amount to the driver by displaying the visual information in an operation amount display section.

A pedal reaction force applying device includes an acceleration pedal used in a stepping-in operation and a returning operation, a motor configured to apply a pedal reaction force acting on an acceleration pedal in the stepping-in operation and the returning operation, a power transmitting device provided between the acceleration pedal and the motor and including a speed-reduction mechanism, an operation direction determiner configured to determine an operation direction of the acceleration pedal, and a reaction force controller configured to control the pedal reaction force on the acceleration pedal. The reaction force controller controls a magnitude of the pedal reaction force by controlling a power of the motor based on the operation direction of the acceleration pedal determined by the operation direction determiner.

Pedal reaction force applying device

A pedal operation amount display apparatus includes: a display device that is configured to display an accelerator operation amount of an accelerator pedal by an operating person by means of light emission of segments; and an assist reaction force calculation part that is configured to set a threshold operation amount as a target value of the accelerator operation amount; and a display control part that is configured to control the display device in a manner such that the accelerator operation amount corresponding to the threshold operation amount is constantly displayed by means of light emission of the segments. Even when the threshold operation amount is changed, the display control part keeps the light emission of the segments unchanged until the accelerator operation amount varies.

A sunroof structure for a wheeled vehicle includes a fixed roof that forms a top portion of the wheeled vehicle, a movable roof that opens and closes a front opening portion which is provided in the fixed roof, and a left side lip that is provided on a left side portion of the movable roof. The left side lip is provided to be spaced apart from the fixed roof when the movable roof is in a tilt-up state. This left side lip includes a lip main body that protrudes downwards from the left side portion of the movable roof and a projecting portion that projects transversely outwards from a lower end of the lip main body.

In a water-cooled four-cycle engine, an engine core including a cylinder block, a cylinder head and a first crankcase half body is formed as a unitary part cast integrally, and a water jacket including a cylinder jacket and a head jacket is formed in the engine core. In a first side surface of the engine core which is parallel with an axis of a crankshaft, an intake port and a first semi-peripheral portion of the water jacket are opened and a first lid plate for closing an opening portion of the first semi-peripheral portion is connected. In a second side surface of the engine core on a side opposite from the first side surface, an exhaust port and a second semi-peripheral portion of the water jacket are opened and a second lid plate for closing an opening portion of the second opposite portion is connected.

Water-cooled four-cycle engine

In a water-cooled four-cycle engine, an engine core including a cylinder block, a cylinder head and a first crankcase half body is formed as a unitary part cast integrally; a water jacket including a cylinder jacket surrounding a cylinder bore and a head jacket surrounding a combustion chamber is formed in the engine core; and a timing-belt chamber being adjacent to the cylinder jacket is provided in a side portion of the engine core. A first opening portion for forming a first semi-peripheral portion of the cylinder jacket on a side opposite from the timing-belt chamber by casting out is provided in a side surface of the cylinder block. A second opening portion for forming a second semi-peripheral portion of the cylinder jacket and the head jacket by casting out is provided in an upper surface of the cylinder head.

A liquid-cooled engine provided with cooling means for cooling an area surrounding a combustion chamber using a cooling liquid cooled by a radiator and caused to flow through a cooling passage. The cooling passage is embedded inside a cylinder block and a cylinder head. The cooling passage is formed in a continuous fashion such that the cooling liquid is introduced from the radiator to cool an area surrounding the combustion chamber, and thereafter returns to the radiator by looping around an area surrounding an exhaust valve for opening and closing an exhaust port of the combustion chamber.

Cooling-means-equipped, liquid-cooled engine

A general-purpose liquid-cooled engine delivers a coolant cooling an engine body to a radiator and delivers a cooling air to the radiator by use of a cooling fan to cool the coolant. A cover structure of the general-purpose liquid-cooled engine covers the engine body and the radiator. An engine cover is configured so as to allow the cooling air to be delivered to the radiator. A muffler cover covers a muffler disposed adjacent to an external surface of the engine cover. An exterior cover covers an entire engine including the engine cover and the muffler cover.

In a water-cooled four-cycle engine, an engine core including a cylinder block, a cylinder head and a first crankcase half body is formed as a unitary part cast integrally; a water jacket including a cylinder jacket and a head jacket is formed in the engine core; and a timing-belt chamber being adjacent to the cylinder jacket is provided in a side portion of the engine core. A first opening portion for forming a first semi-peripheral portion of the cylinder jacket on a side opposite from the timing-belt chamber by casting out is provided in a side surface of the cylinder block. Second and third opening portions for forming a second semi-peripheral portion of the cylinder jacket and the head jacket as well as the timing-belt chamber, respectively, by casting out are provided in an upper surface of the cylinder head.

A valve-mechanism-equipped engine having increased combustion efficiency is disclosed. The engine includes intake and exhaust rocker arms having a swing center line inclined relative to a rotation center line of a cam, and an intake valve and an exhaust valve inclined relative to a cylinder. A cam surface is inclined relative to the rotation center line of the cam. Slippers of the intake and exhaust rocker arms are in sliding contact with the cam surface.

Valve-mechanism-equipped engine

In a link type variable stroke engine in which a piston, a crankshaft and an eccentric shaft are linked by a linking mechanism, an oil supply hole for supplying lubricating oil to a position between a connection tubular part of a sub connecting rod and a crank pin is provided in an upper portion of the connection tubular part at a position which is deviated from a direction of application of maximum load applied from the crank pin to an inner surface of the connection tubular part by maximum in-tube pressure, and which is immediately behind a point of application of the maximum load along a direction in which the crank pin rotates relative to the sub connecting rod. Accordingly, it is possible to prevent leak of oil from the oil supply hole and thereby reliably lubricating the position between the connection tubular part of the sub connecting rod and the crank pin by a splash lubrication system.

Link type variable stroke engine

A bearing holder () having a bearing () rotatably supporting a crankshaft () is fixed so as to face an opening () of the engine case (). A gas-liquid separation chamber () is formed between a cover member () covering the opening () and the bearing holder (). Therefore, by utilizing the bearing holder () as a part of the wall surface of the gas-liquid separation chamber (), the gas-liquid separation chamber () can be partitioned without increasing the number of components and without forming a special wall surface in the engine case (). Thus, it is possible to reduce the size and weight of the engine case (), and reduce the cost by simplifying the shape thereof and reducing the number of components. Also, a labyrinthis formed by ribs () projecting from the bearing holder () and the cover member (), and therefore gas-liquid separation can be effectively performed by the labyrinth (). Thus, it is possible to provide a small light gas-liquid separation device with a small number of components.

An air-cooled engine () is cooled by cooling air (Wi). The air-cooled engine () includes a cylinder block () and a cylinder head (). The cylinder block () has cylinder cooling through-ducts () capable of transmitting cooling air (Wi), on the periphery of a cylinder (). The cylinder head () has a head-cooling through-duct () capable of transmitting cooling air (Wi). The cylinder-cooling ducts () and the head-cooling duct () extend in a direction perpendicular to the axial line () of the cylinder (), and are communicated with each other by means of communication channels ().

Air-cooled engine

In an engine valve operating system, a timing transmission chamber () is formed on one side of an engine main body; the timing transmission chamber () houses a timing transmission system () that provides a connection between a crankshaft () and a camshaft () disposed above intake and exhaust valves (); opposite end parts of the camshaft () are supported by one side wall () of a cylinder head () and a dividing wall () that is adjacent to the timing transmission chamber (); and a valve operating chamber () housing the camshaft () is defined between said one side wall () and the dividing wall (). An oil slinger () is disposed in a lower part of the timing transmission chamber (). An oil passage hole () is provided in the dividing wall (), the oil passage hole () guiding scattered oil that has been shaken off in an upper part of the timing transmission system () to the valve operating chamber (). An oil return passage () is provided for transmitting pressure pulsations generated in the crank chamber () to the valve operating chamber (), and making oil that has collected in the valve operating chamber () flow downward to the crank chamber () within the crankcase (). Thus, the interiors of the timing transmission chamber and the valve operating chamber which are separated from each other can be lubricated without using an oil pump, while maintaining an arrangement in which the camshaft is disposed above the intake and exhaust valves.
