There is provided a manufacturing method for a sheet-like member associated with an absorbent article, the sheet-like member having a folded-up section which is temporarily-secured in a folded-up state. The method includes: forming the folded-up section by folding up a continuous sheet in a width direction of the continuous sheet, the continuous sheet continuing along a transporting direction, creasing the folded-up section in a folded-up state by pressing continuously the folded-up section along a direction of a fold line of the folded-up section, temporarily-securing the folded-up section in a folded-up state by pressing the folded-up section with a plurality of protrusions that are included in a pressing member, producing the sheet-like member by dividing the continuous sheet with a predetermined pitch in the transporting direction, the continuous sheet having been creased and temporarily-secured, and conveying the produced sheet-like member.

A manufacturing method of an absorbent body used for an absorbent article, includes molding the absorbent body by sucking in a gas, mixed with a liquid absorbent fiber and a superabsorbent polymer, using a suction hole at a bottom portion of a mold, and laminating the liquid absorbent fiber and the superabsorbent polymer on the bottom portion, and making a lamination thickness of the absorbent body thin by sucking out gas in the absorbent body placed on a placement surface on which the absorbent body is placed by, after the molding, in a state in which the gas is not supplied, sucking air through the suction hole on the placement surface, and creating an air pressure, in a space in between fibers in the absorbent body while sucking out the air, lower than that in a space in between fibers in the absorbent body while laminating in molding.

A method of manufacturing a composite body of a sheet-like member of an absorbent article, the method includes: holding a first sheet-like member on a holding surface of a holding section; and delivering and attaching the first sheet-like member from the holding surface to a second sheet-like member. The inspecting apparatus includes: an imaging process section which is adapted to image, from one side of a surface of the absorbent sheet-like member, a region on the absorbent sheet-like member where the absorbent body is expected to exist, and that is adapted to produce data relating to a planar image of the region as planar image data of the absorbent body; an extracting process section which is adapted to extract a proper quantity region from the planar image by performing a binarization process on the produced planar image data based on a threshold value, the proper quantity region being an imaged region in which the liquid absorbent particulate is of a specified amount or more; and a pass/fail determination process section that is adapted to perform a pass/fail determination process based on a value indicating a size of the proper quantity region.
