Resin-adhered graphite particles are obtained by causing a modified novolac-type phenolic resin to adhere to graphite particles. At least part of surfaces of the graphite particles is coated with a carbonaceous coating by heating the resin-adhered graphite particles in a non-oxidizing atmosphere at 900 to 1,500° C. to carbonize the modified novolac-type phenolic resin. Arylene groups having hydroxy groups account for 5 to 95 mol % of arylene groups constituting the modified novolac-type phenolic resin. The obtained carbonaceous substance-coated graphite particles exhibit excellent battery properties when used as a negative electrode material for a lithium ion secondary battery.

Method for producing carbonaceous substance-coated graphite particles

A non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes an electrode body including a positive electrode and a negative electrode superimposed upon each other with a separator interposed therebetween. The negative electrode is superimposed upon the positive electrode in a state where a negative electrode active material layer, except the part on a proximal end part of a negative electrode tab, is positioned inside an outer edge of a positive electrode active material layer of the positive electrode. Non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery, electrode used for secondary battery, and method of manufacturing electrode

A non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes an electrode body including a positive electrode and a negative electrode superimposed upon each other with a separator interposed therebetween. The negative electrode is superimposed upon the positive electrode in a state where a negative electrode active material layer, except the part on a proximal end part of a negative electrode tab, is positioned inside an outer edge of a positive electrode active material layer of the positive electrode. A width Hof the negative electrode active material layer including the part on the proximal end part of the negative electrode tab, width Hof the negative electrode active material layer or negative electrode current collector at a part other than the negative electrode tab, and width Hof the positive electrode active material layer are formed to satisfy the relationships of H&#x3c;H, and (H&#x2212;H)&#x2267;(H&#x2212;H)&#xf7;2.

The input information read by the scanner section 101 and the input information received by the modem section 106 are stored in the storage section 102. The analysis circuit 107 analyzes an identifier from a signal received at the modem 106. Facsimile apparatus capable of editing and transmitting input information

An ISDN communication apparatus of the present invention can accept termination of information when this information is received even when there is no idle B channel. The ISDN communication apparatus comprises at least one ISDN line interface (1) connected to the ISDN line, a multiplex link forming circuit (3) connected to a plurality of B channels to form a logical link through the multiplex conversion and a point R interface (2) connected to the logical link formed of the multiplex link forming circuit. When the D-ch interface(12) detects the distant party address from the termination information from the distant communication apparatus, the main control circuit (4) compares the distant party address with the previously set reference address to detect whether these are matched or not. When these addresses are matched, the switch circuit (31) releases at least one communication channel from a plurality of B channels in the busy condition and forms a new logical link between the released B channel and the point R interface of the responsive terminal.

ISDN communication apparatus

A compound transmission system compounds signals from a LAN communication device and other communication devices without multiplex them. A first LAN communication device is connected to a second LAN communication device through two line pairs (10, 20). A first signal transmission device such as an exchanger (111) is connected to center taps of windings of transformers (50, 51) on the side of the line pairs to superpose a communication signal from the first signal transmission device on the LAN signal and separate a telephone communication signal from the LAN signal at the center taps. The transformers (50, 51) constitute a first superpose/separate circuit. A second signal transmission device such as an exchanger terminal (112) is connected to center taps of windings of transformers (60, 61) on the side of the line pairs to superpose a communication signal from the second signal transmission device on the LAN signal and separate the communication signal from the LAN signal at the center taps. The transformers (60, 61) constitute a second superpose/separate circuit.

Compound transmission system for compounding LAN and other communication

A transmitting/receiving station having a section comprising a cellulating buffer for dividing input data into cell data of a plurality of channels on the basis of a cell having a predetermined bit length. Before the transmission of the cell data, a signal outputting section sends a synchronizing signal including particular channel identification data to each of the channels. As a receiving section of a receiving station receives the synchronizing signals, a signal detector distinguishes the channels while detecting the times when the channels were received. Then, the receiving section is initialized such that a replacing section transfers cell data other than those of a channel arrived last to a time gap buffer, and the time gap buffer corrects a difference between the reception timings of cell data. Thereafter, as the transmitting station sends the cell data of the plurality of channels at the same time, the receiving station reproduces the original input data by correcting the time gap between the channels and then serializing the cell data in a correct order.

Bulk data transmission system

A pipe coupling for the union of a corrugated pipe therewith is formed of a pipe coupling proper and a lock cylinder for fixing a corrugated pipe. The lock cylinder is helically joined to the inner surface of the leading part of the pipe coupling proper and fixes the corrugated pipe by rotationally closing the lock cylinder helically tacked to the pipe coupling proper, and at the same time seals the pipe coupling proper by pressing the leading terminal part of the lock cylinder against a seal ring attached fast to the interior of the pipe coupling proper, enabling the corrugated pipe to be infallibly locked and sealed owing to the provision of a spacer adapted to preset and keep a closing distance for the lock cylinder. The spacer is detachably attached to the periphery of the pipe coupling proper.

B /t.sub.MB .ltoreq.1 are selected when the value of cos(.theta..sub.R m) is positive and relations t.sub.C /t.sub.MC .ltoreq.1 and t.sub.B /t.sub.MB .ltoreq.1 are selected when the value of cos(.theta..sub.R n) is negative.

High head pump-turbines

A joint for connecting a corrugated pipe to another member includes a cylindrical body having an annular step portion formed in its inner part and adapted to be brought into contact with a front end of a corrugated pipe; a chuck having an annular body which includes a forward end part of an inner diameter substantially equal to or slightly smaller than an outer diameter of the corrugated pipe and which exhibits elasticity by which the chuck can contract and expand in radially inner and outer directions, an engaging portion formed on an inner periphery of its forward end part for engaging an outer periphery of the corrugated pipe, and a locking portion formed on an inner periphery of its rearward end part, the chuck being engaged with the outer periphery of the corrugated pipe in the cylindrical body so as to be capable of moving the corrugated pipe into the cylindrical body integrally with the chuck; and a push cylinder having a counterpart locking portion formed on an outer periphery of its forward end part and adapted to be locked to the locking portion formed on the rearward end part of the chuck, the push cylinder being slidably fitted to an inner periphery of an end portion of the cylindrical body, the push cylinder being for pushing the chuck into the cylindrical body when the push cylinder is advanced.

Joint for connection of a corrugated pipe

A seal ring seals between a first member and a second member. The second member is provided with a circular groove having two side surfaces opposite each other and a bottom surface connected to the side surfaces. The seal ring is mounted in the circular groove of the second member. The seal ring includes a projection in contact with the first member, a pair of elastic outer leg portions, and a pair of elastic inner leg portions. The outer leg portions are connected to the projection and are in contact with respective side surfaces. The inner leg portions define side recesses between the inner leg portions and the outer leg portions, and are in contact with the side surfaces and the bottom surface.

Seal ring

A pipe coupler comprises a socket body having locking-ball receiving holes for receiving locking balls, a sleeve axially slidable on the socket body and a plug having an engaging groove for receiving the locking balls. The plug is detachably connected to the socket body due to operation of the sleeve. A step engageable with the rear side face of the engaging groove is formed on a portion of the socket body in a vicinity of the forward side of the locking-ball receiving holes. An axially movable and retractable ring is disposed in the engaging groove such that the ring is mounted on the portion of the socket body in front of the locking-ball receiving holes when the sleeve is free and retracts axially to engage the step so as to prevent the sleeve from advancing further when the ring coincides with the locking balls whereby the plug is locked to the socket body in a one-touch operation without flow loss. This structure ensures easy manufacture of a pipe coupler at a low cost.

Pipe coupling

A pipe coupling for a corrugated pipe, comprises a pipe coupling main body including a cylindircal portion having a small-diameter through hole, a pipe coupling main cylindrical portion having a large-diameter through hole, a connecting stepped portion formed between the small- and large-diameter through holes and having a circumferential groove, a stopper formed in the connecting stepped portion, for locking an end portion of a corrugated pipe, and a seal ring fitted in the circumferential groove, an inner cylinder including a through hole having a diameter substantially equal to an outer diameter of the corrugated pipe and an annular groove having a tapered surface and formed in an inner wall of a deep portion of the through hole, the inner cylinder being slidably and rotatably fitted in the large-diameter through hole of the pipe coupling main body, and a metal ring arranged in the circumferential groove of the inner cylinder and expandable in a circumferential direction thereof.
