A battery device having a large number of secondary cells in which the voltage of a large number of secondary batteries can be detected and controlled to facilitate the handling and to improve the reliability. The battery device is made up of a modular casing , a large number of secondary batteries housed in the modular casing , plural cell control units and an exterior casing accommodating the modular casing . The modular casing has an inner casing member and an outer casing member and has a large number of terminal openings opened in it. The secondary batteries are housed in the modular casing via the terminal openings so that positive terminal and negative terminal are alternately exposed to outside. A pre-set number of secondary batteries are grouped together as a set, with the totality of the secondary batteries being arranged in a plurality of such sets. The cell control unit has the functions of detecting and controlling the voltage of each battery module and each secondary battery and of inputting and outputting detection and control signals. The exterior casing is provided with a positive electrode terminal , a negative electrode terminal and a transmission/reception terminal of the cell control unit

Battery device for loading on a mobile system

A battery device housing a large number of secondary batteries, in which the batteries can be cooled efficiently as the effect of excessive vibrations or shock or changes in environmental conditions on the housed secondary batteries is suppressed and as sufficient air-tightness is maintained. The battery device includes a modular casing having a battery housing section in its inside and a large number of terminal openings an outer casing member for housing the modular casing in an accommodating space section and a large number of secondary batteries housed in the battery housing section so that terminal sections are exposed to outside through terminal openings The secondary batteries are connected in series with one another. The modular casing is housed in the outer casing member with a gap p between facing outer and inner peripheries with the interposition of mounting portions The modular casing is provided with a suction unit and an exhaust section for supplying and exhausting cooling air to or from the battery housing section The secondary batteries are accommodated in the battery device so that both ends of the batteries are cemented with an adhesive to the terminal openings and so that the outer peripheries of the batteries face the inner surface of the battery housing section with a gap in-between.

Battery device for loading on moving body

A battery device in which a large number of secondary batteries are efficiently housed and cemented strongly so that malfunctioning secondary batteries found after assembling can be exchanged and so that unusual heat evolution can be detected reliably. To this end, a pair of modular casing halves having battery housing half sections and a large number of terminal openings communicating with the battery housing half sections are coupled to each other to constitute a modular casing having a battery housing section A large number of secondary batteries are housed in the battery housing section so that both end terminals of the secondary batteries will be exposed to outside through the terminal openings. Each modular casing half is provided with bottomed adhesive charging openings in register with the respective terminal openings and adhesive efflux opening parts communicating with the terminal openings and with the adhesive charging openings. An adhesive charged through the adhesive charging openings is affixed to the outer periphery of the secondary batteries through the adhesive efflux opening parts to cement the ends of the secondary batteries to the terminal openings.

A semiconductor device of the present invention includes an internal circuit within the voltage is pulled down, and two voltage converting circuits for pulling down the external supply voltage. One of the voltage converting circuits supplies a pulled-down voltage to the internal circuit during the normal operation, while the other of the voltage converting circuits operates under a signal from a control circuit, which monitors the voltage level at an external terminal, so as to supply the voltage pulled down from the voltage at the external terminal to the internal circuit. The invention relates to a voltage supply circuit used in a semiconductor integrated circuit wherein switching between voltages generated is carried out in dependency upon whether the circuit is in an ordinary operating state or in a standby state. This voltage supply circuit includes a first reference voltage generator for supplying a reference voltage through an amplifier circuit to an internal circuit in the operating state, and a power supply voltage converter for supplying a voltage to the internal circuit at least in the standby state, wherein a second reference voltage generator provided independently of the first reference voltage generator becomes operative for a transient time period during which the second reference voltage generator shifts from the standby state to the operating state. By the action of the second reference voltage generator, a setup time at the time of start of the operation is shortened. Further, by allowing the first reference voltage generator to be inactive in the standby state, low power consumption is realized.
