A standby current of an arithmetic control unit configured to execute a control operation based on an activation signal generated by an uncertain manual operation is suppressed. A power supply relay configured to supply power to an arithmetic control unit is driven so as to be closed by a power supply switch, to thereby apply drive control to a main electric apparatus, and apply drive control to an auxiliary electric apparatus in accordance with a composite activation signal generated by an activation signal processing unit responding to closing operations of activation command elements even when the power supply switch is opened. As a result, a standby current generated in the activation signal processing unit is greatly suppressed compared with a case in which the arithmetic control unit is intermittently activated.

When energization drive is applied to a connection detection transistor connected with an auxiliary battery, a power-supply opening/closing device is closed through a relaying connection device; a microprocessor in a charge control apparatus starts its operation through a stabilized power source; then, the resistance value of a first resistor is calculated based on respective measurement voltages at related points, which are inputted to a multi-channel A/D converter, so that the type of a charging cable is detected.

An electric charging control device is obtained which detects welding abnormality of an electric contactor(s) along charging passages from an electric charging plug reaching a main battery; electric charging contactors and main electric contactors are connected in series; a first voltage monitoring circuit connected between power-supply points Pand N, a second voltage monitoring circuit connected therebetween, and a voltage-level detection circuit connected between the midpoints Pand Nare provided for producing a first voltage detection signal DET, a second voltage detection signal DET, and a main voltage detection signal DET, each of which is a respective determination logic signal responding to the presence or absence of a monitored voltage; and a test voltage is received from either one of the main battery and a ground-based electric charging power-source apparatus, so that the presence or absence of welding abnormality in any one of the contactors is determined.
