A support structure of a windshield of the present invention comprises a frame having an open section opening forward in a vehicle and a support member provided inside the frame and connecting an upper face portion and a lower face portion of the frame. The frame has a windshield support portion supporting a lower side portion of the windshield at part of the upper face portion. The support member includes a rear support portion attached to the upper face portion of the frame and a front support portion attached to a cowl panel at a specified location positioned in front of the rear support portion. The windshield support portion is positioned between the front and rear support portions in the vehicle longitudinal direction.

Support structure of windshield

A power plant support structure for supporting a power plant of a vehicle includes a center frame extending in a lengthwise direction of the car body. The center frame is connected, at its lengthwise ends, to front and rear cross members, disposed forward and rearward of the power plant and extending between front side frames. A front mount is secured to the center frame before the power plant and connects the power plant to the center frame. The center frame absorbs an impact exerted on the power plant during a front-end collision of the vehicle.

A rear portion structure of a vehicle which can increase the coupling strength between rear side frames and a rear suspension cross member, and can reinforce the rear side frames. The vehicle rear portion structure includes a pair of right and left rear side frames arranged to extend along right and left side portions of a rear portion of a vehicle body, and with kick-up portions. A rear suspension cross member, has attaching portions attached to intermediate portions of the kick-up portions of the rear side frames, and which is arranged to extend in a direction substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the rear side frames.

A front body structure of a vehicle includes a pair of front side frames extending on opposite sides of an engine room in a lengthwise direction, from front to back, of the vehicle. A suspension cross member extends in a direction crosswise relative to the front side frames and suspends front wheels of the vehicle. Finally, a shock relieving member is provided, in association with the suspension cross member, for relieving shocks exerted on the suspension cross member from a power train forcibly moved rearward during a front end collision of the vehicle.

A vehicle rear body structure with first and second frame reinforcement members connected to a rear belt line reinforcement and to a rear pillar behind a door is disclosed. When an end-to-end vehicle collision occurs, impact energy is dispersed through the first and second frame reinforcement members so as to prevent bending of the rear pillar obstructing the opening of the vehicle door. Passenger escape is facilitated.

An open cowl type front structure of a vehicle body includes a dashboard panel which defines a part of the open cowl structure. The dashboard panel is provided with a closed cross-section portion extending in the transverse direction of the vehicle body along the open cowl structure. A front frame is mounted on a wheel apron defining a side wall of an engine compartment formed on the front side of the dashboard panel and extends in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body in the engine compartment. A reinforcement connects the closed cross-section portion with the front frame.
