An engine valve operating system of an electromagnetic type is arranged to locate a movable member between two electromagnets through a distance block and to connect the two electromagnets through side walls. By alternately energizing the electromagnets, the movable member is reciprocated against spring forces of two springs. An engine valve is interlocked with the movable member and operates according to the reciprocal movement of the movable member. The side wall and/or distance block is made of soft magnetic material and forms a magnetic circuit penetrating a side surface of the movable plate. This new magnetic circuit increases the attracting force of the electromagnet when a clearance between the movable member and the electromagnet is greater than a predetermined clearance. This arrangement decreases energy consumption for the initializing operation of the valve operating system from a neutral position between the electromagnets.

Engine valve operating system for internal combustion engine

The drive part for converting the revolution movement to the wobble movement is composed of the shaft for transmitting the drive force from outside, the swash plate rotated by the shaft and the wobble plate for converting the revolution movement of the swash plate to the wobble movement. Plural pistons are reciprocated in responsive to the wobble movement of the wobble plate. The crank room containing the swash plate, the wobble plate and the piston is separated into the fuel room and the drive room by the bellows. The bearings for transmitting the drive force between the shaft in the drive room and the swash plate, and the bearing for transmitting the drive force between the swash plate and the wobble plate are placed inside the drive room in order to lubricate the bearings. By arranging plural pistons inside the fuel room, the fuel is forced to be taken in and discharged by the reciprocate movement of the individual pistons.

Fuel pump

A motion converting mechanism for converting the rotating motion to the inclined gyration movement in a fuel pump is isolated from gasoline through a flexible isolating member. The lubrication of a load supporting portion in the fuel pump, which is enclosed in an interior portion of the flexible isolating member, can be performed. A sealing portion of a rotating shaft in the fuel pump is isolated from the gasoline by the flexible isolating member. The lubricating oil is sealed in an interior portion of an isolating area formed by the flexible isolating member.

A drive part for converting rotational movement in a fuel pump to the wobble movement includes the shaft for transmitting an outside drive force, the swash plate rotated by the shaft and the wobble plate for converting the rotational movement of the swash plate to the wobble movement. Plural pistons are reciprocated in response to the wobble movement of the wobble plate. The crank room containing the swash plate, the wobble plate and the piston are separated into the fuel room and the drive room by bellows. The bearings for transmitting the drive force between the shaft in the drive room and the swash plate, and the bearing for transmitting the drive force between the swash plate and the wobble plate are placed inside the drive room in order to lubricate the bearings. By arranging plural pistons inside the fuel room, the fuel is forced to be taken in and discharged by the reciprocating movement of the individual pistons.

Device for detecting rotation of rotary shaft and rotation controlling

An apparatus for controlling a throttle valve comprises a motor for rotating a throttle valve so as to adjust the valve opening degree, a gearing disposed between the motor and the throttle valve for transmitting driving force of the motor to the throttle valve, and a return device serving to return the throttle valve to a regular set position thereof. The return device includes a tension spring.

Apparatus for controlling a throttle valve

A measurement range is divided into a plurality of sections, a binary coded signal is generated at each division point, small section signals are generated at a predetermined interval between the binary coded signals, the binary coded signals are weighted by angles, and the small section signals are added or subtracted to or from the weighted signal to interpolate between two binary coded signals. Since the increment signals generated between the adjacent absolute signals is used as an interpolation signal between the absolute signals, the measurement accuracy is enhanced without increasing the number of elements for generating the absolute signals. The measured angle can be accurately read by adding or subtracting the increment signals to and from the weighted signal of the absolute signal.

Method and apparatus for detecting a rotation angle

A fuel injecting apparatus for an internal combustion engine, comprising a suction manifold and a throttle valve assembly connected to the suction manifold and provided with a fuel injector and a throttle valve. The plane of the opening of each branch pipe of the manifold is formed at a position receded downstream of a joining plane between the suction manifold and the throttle valve assembly to form space between the joining plane and the opening plane, and, at the same time, the branch pipes of the suction manifold are open at predetermined intervals around the central axis of the space which functions as part of a suction passage rotationally in the direction of the operating sequence of the integrated cylinders, whereby suction by each cylinder takes place consecutively in the same rotational direction in the space at the branch pipe inlets, and a swirl is generated at the space formed at the branch pipe inlets, thereby prompting the mixing of the fuel-air mixture and enabling uniform distribution of the mixture to each cylinder.

Fuel injecting apparatus for internal combustion engine

A rotation angle measuring apparatus comprises a throttle valve for controlling the amount of air flow of an internal combustion engine, a throttle sensor coupled to a rotation shaft of the throttle valve, and a logic circuit which includes absolute rotation angle detecting means for receiving an output signal of the throttle sensor to produce an absolute signal, forward/reverse rotation direction discriminating means for receiving an output signal of the throttle sensor to produce a direction signal, and an up/down counter for receiving the absolute signal, the direction signal and a count signal outputted from the forward/reverse rotation direction discriminating means to output a signal representative of a rotation position of the rotation shaft of the throttle valve.

Rotation angle measuring apparatus

A single or twin valve fuel injection system including a fuel injection valve disposed on a downstream side of a throttle valve. The fuel injection system includes one or two barrels which are separated on a downstream side of the throttle valve and, each of which contains a fuel injection valve. The air intake passage is provided with a bent or curved passage member between a throttle valve and the barrel so that the streamline of the intake air passing through the throttle valve is turned at an angle of 90.degree. prior to flowing into the one or two barrels.

Single or twin valve type fuel injection system

A magnetic rotary sensor has a rotary drum carrying thereon magnetically recorded codes representative of discrete positions obtained by dividing one rotation of the drum into a predetermined number of positions. Further, an interval between the adjacent discrete positions identified by the codes is interpolated by interpolation signals generated on the basis of a sine wave signal and a cosine wave signal, which are so produced by magnetic signals additionally recorded on the drum that the periods thereof correspond to the interval. Accordingly, a magnetic rotary sensor can be realized, which is capable of identifying the rotational positions of a rotating body with high resolution without increasing the rotary drum in size.

Magnetic rotary sensor for detecting absolute position of rotating body

A sintered cam ring is secured to the inner surface of a cylindrical body by means of a bolt. A fuel injection pump has a rotor which supports a roller rotating along the inner surface of the sintered cam ring and is driven by an engine. The sintered cam ring is provided in the outer surface thereof with a groove extending along the central axis thereof. A positioning member for fixing the position of the groove and that of a pin hole formed in the body for receiving a bolt is inserted such as to stretch between the groove and the pin hole. Further, a bolt is employed to secure and tighten the positioning member fitted in both the pin hole and the groove from the outside of the body.

A high-pressure fuel injection system for a diesel engine including a plurality of main pumps for injecting fuel each located at one of cylinders of the engine and formed with a fuel injection port, a metering and distributing pump formed with fuel discharge ports corresponding in number to the cylinders of the engine for discharging fuel to be injected in timed relation to the rotation of the engine, a plurality of injected fuel metering valves for metering the fuel to be injected before introduction into the metering and distributing pump, a plurality of pipes for fluidly connecting each of the main pumps for injecting fuel with each other discharge ports of the metering and distributing pump, and an actuating mechanism connecting the engine with each of the main pumps for injecting fuel to actuate each of the main fuel injection pump for injecting fuel in timed relation to the rotation of the engine.

High-pressure fuel injection system for diesel engine

A fuel injection pump including an injected amount determining high pressure chamber for determining an injected amount of fuel and an injection timing determining high pressure chamber for determining an injection timing of fuel, with the high pressure chambers being provided independently of each other. A shuttle is disposed in at least the injected amount determining high pressure chamber to form an injection fuel chamber and a pressurization chamber. The injection timing determining high pressure chamber is disconnected from the pressurization chamber in the supply process of fuel for determining the injected amount and fuel for determining the injection timing, and the injection timing determining high pressure chamber is communicated with the pressurization chamber in the fuel injection process. The shuttle for determining the injection timing is not influenced by the fuel for determining the injected amount at the time when the fuel for determining the injected amount is supplied.
