A communicating path is formed at one of the rotors and the and the casing for communicating a gas discharge-side inner space and a space defined by an inner surface of the casing and the fluid-transporting groove of an outer surface of each rotor with each other. The transporting member includes a rotary disk rotatable together with the rotor and a fixed disk opposed to the rotary disk fixed to the housing so as to maintain a gap between the rotary disk and the fixed disk. A spiral groove is formed on one of a surface of the rotary disk and an opposing surface of the fixed surface so as to transport one of fluid and gas molecules in a radial direction of the rotor between the rotary disk and the fixed disk. In this manner, fluid (i.e., liquid or gas) molecules are sucked and discharged due to a capacity change of a space defined by the rotors and the housing through synchronous control by the synchronous controller.

A method of controlling the apparatus includes the steps of opening the communicating path by operating the flow control device to cause the upstream side to communicate with the downstream side of the apparatus when the rotational numbers of the rotors are less than a predetermined value, and closing the communicating path by operating the flow control device when the rotational numbers of the rotors are not less than a predetermined value.

A fluid rotating apparatus according to the present invention is designed to promptly achieve an extremely high degree of vacuum from promptly atmospheric pressure promptly by its single apparatus. Moreover, high-speed synchronous rotation of the rotary shafts of the apparatus is controlled by use of a rotary position detecting sensor, to thereby avoid control mechanical contact thereof with a gear or the like. The compressor includes a passage opening and closing device arranged at an inlet section of one of a suction pipe connecting with a suction chamber of the compressor and the suction chamber, and a pressure control valve arranged between a discharge chamber and the crank chamber, the valve opening in a case where pressure in the suction chamber is less than a set value. A rotary compressor is provided for use in an air conditioner of an automobile. This compressor includes a cylinder having a cylindrical inner wall portion composed of aluminum alloy filled into the pores of a sintered liner composed of iron series metallic fibers, or into the pores of a blister metal liner. With this arrangement, sliding abrasion between the cylindrical inner wall face and the vanes, and deformation thereof by gas compression forces and high temperatures, can be prevented.
