An inkjet head includes a common ink puddle section, a nozzle plate having a plurality of nozzle orifices, an ink flow channel substrate having grooves communicating from the common ink puddle section to the nozzle orifices, and being formed alternatively in front and back surfaces of the ink flow channel substrate, to end sections of the grooves the nozzle plate being fixed, a chamber plate being stacked on the ink flow channel substrate, and having pressure generation chambers corresponding to the nozzle orifices, a diaphragm stacking on the chamber plate opposite from the ink flow channel substrate, a pressure generator provided on the diaphragm for the respective pressure generation chambers to generate a change in an internal pressure. Preferably, a volumetric capacity of the pressure generation chambers is changed in accordance with a change in the pressure, to eject an ink droplet from the nozzle orifice.

A housing of inkjet head has a projection that is formed with a plurality of opening grooves defined between adjacent two of projecting parts, and tip ends of the projecting parts are fixed to a diaphragm plate. An inkjet recording head includes: a nozzle plate having nozzles arranged in a row; a plurality of pressure generating chambers communicating to the nozzles, the plurality of pressure generating chambers including a first pressure generating chamber and a second pressure generating chamber; a diaphragm formed on one face of the pressure generating chamber; a common ink chamber for supplying the ink to the plurality of pressure generating chambers; and a piezoelectric element for displacing the diaphragm. The first pressure generating chamber is disposed on one side of the nozzles and a second pressure generating chamber is disposed on the other side. The first and second pressure generating chambers are opposed to each other across the nozzles so that the central lines of the first and second pressure generating chambers are almost coincident.

Inkjet recording head and inkjet recording apparatus using the same

A chamber support plate of an inkjet head is formed as a member different from a housing. The chamber support plate is formed with a plurality of grooves at high density by a dicing saw or the like. Piezoelectric elements are inserted into the grooves and adhered to a chamber plate. The plurality of grooves define comb teeth portions, which support the chamber plate at positions between adjacent piezoelectric elements.

A recording headhas a plurality of nozzle orifices aligned in a row extending in a first direction. The recording headis arranged with the nozzle orifices in confrontation with a recording medium P. The recording medium P is moved in a second direction B with respect to the recording head. Also, ink droplets ejected from the nozzle orifices are charged to a charged amount that corresponds to deflection amount of the ink droplets. The charged ink droplets are deflected in a direction perpendicular to a main scanning line. The plurality of ink droplets ejected from the plurality of nozzle orifices impinge on the same pixel position or at a nearby position so that it is possible to impinge multiple droplets at the same pixel position or a nearby position. As a result, it is possible to back up broken nozzles and to reduce recording distortion.

Line scan type ink jet recording device

When print mode of a printing device is switched to a print mode with a higher print speed, after the direction of shuttle movement is reversed, a time duration that driving current is applied to a reversing coil is increased, so that shuttle speed is increased to a target speed. A time duration that driving current is applied to a constant velocity coil is decreased accordingly. On the other hand, when the print mode is switched to a print mode with a lower print speed, the time duration that driving current is applied to the reversing coil is decreased, and the time duration that driving current is applied to the constant velocity coil is increased accordingly. In this way, the print modes of the printing device can be switched quickly without stopping printing operations, thereby enhancing throughput.

A back electrode is provided at a rear surface side of a recording sheet . An orifice electrode is attached to an orifice plate of a head module . The orifice electrode , the orifice plate , and ink filling in a nozzle element are electrically connected to the ground. The back electrode has the potential corresponding to that of a charging/deflecting signal. With this configuration, the orifice electrode , a pressure chamber , and the back electrode together generates an inclined electric field at a position a close to a center trajectory . A charged ink droplet is deflected greatly by the inclined electric field , at an early stage of the ink flight, and even greater deflection can be achieved as the flight proceeds.

A hammer bank mounted on direct drive bearings reciprocally moves along a shaft. Springs provided at each end of the shaft supplies repulsive force to the hammer bank. When sheet feed operations for a plurality of carriage returns are performed, the hammer bank is stopped at a predetermined position away from the springs. When the reciprocal movement of the hammer bank is restarted, the hammer bank is first moved to a reverse position where the repulsive force of the spring is in the maximum. Then, the hammer bank is accelerated by utilizing the repulsive force of the spring and restarts the reciprocal movement.

To prevent undue elevation of temperature in a hammer assembly but to maintain the maximum printing speed, when a scheduled number of drivings at which print hammers are to be driven during one scan of a manner bank which follows the currently performing scan, exceeds a first reference number, one dot line printing is completed with a plurality of scans of the hammer bank so that dot line print density in each scan of the hammer bank does not exceed, for example, 35%. If, however, high density printing exceeding 25% continues for an extended period of time more than one scan time, the printing operation is temporarily halted.
