Blood pressure is estimated in a non-constraining manner continuously and in real time. A biological signal collected from a person's dorsal part is analyzed, vibration in the human body ascribable to a blood flow rate change in a period from the ventricular filling period to the isovolumetric systole is captured, and the state of fluctuation of an index indicating the state of the in vivo vibration is further captured. This fluctuation index correlates with a person's blood pressure. Therefore, it is possible to estimate whether the blood pressure is in a range indicating a normal-range blood pressure or in a range indicating a high blood pressure, only by having the person sit or lie supine on a surface provided with a biological signal measurement device to measure a biological signal in a non-constraining manner, so as to make the biological signal measurement device contiguous with the person's dorsal part.

The occurrence of a sudden change in physical condition is detected. In a physical condition determination device, a heart rate-relate index calculation unitspecifies an appearance time of a sign of a sudden change in heart rate, from a time-series waveform of an index corresponding to a variation in the heart rate (heart rate-related index) and a blood pressure-related index calculation unitspecifies an appearance time of a sign of a sudden change in blood pressure, from a time-series waveform of an index corresponding to a variation in the blood pressure (blood pressure-related index). A physical condition sudden change determination unitdetermines that a sudden change in physical condition (physical condition sudden change) has occurred in a case where these appearance times are both within a predetermined time. This enables the determination in which the sudden change in the heart rate and the sudden change in the blood pressure are taken into consideration, to enable the detection of the physical condition sudden change.

By promoting air circulation, heat and humidity are reduced more efficiently. A vehicle seat ventilation mechanism includes: a body case which is provided in a cushioning material of at least one of a seat cushion and a seat back and whose interior is an air circulation space; a fan disposed in the body case; and an exhaust port which is provided at a position apart from the fan and discharges an air stream created by air suction by the fan. The air stream enhances the comfort of a microclimate condition on a vehicle seat side which is a rear side of a contact surface, and with this microclimate condition, a thermal environment on a seat occupant side having an increased causal factor of discomfort is replaced, thereby making it possible to enhance the comfort of the clothing microclimate.

The present invention is configured to compare an output result of frequency analysis of a frequency gradient time-series waveform of a biosignal with preset corresponding data of output results of brain waves of different biological states to the output result. Accordingly, it is possible to estimate a time-series variation of a biological state which is specified by a brain wave state and brain waves by using a biological index other than brain waves, in particular, a result of frequency analysis of a frequency gradient time-series waveform of a biosignal reflecting an autonomic nervous function. Using an electroencephalograph is not required, and thus it is possible to estimate brain waves and a biological state corresponding to brain waves easily and rapidly.

A device to detect a state of a human being is provided. The device determines a time-series waveform of a frequency from a time-series waveform of a biological signal acquired from an upper body of a human being, and determines time-series waveforms of a frequency slope and frequency variation to analyze these frequencies. Upon analyzing the frequencies, it determines power spectrums of frequencies corresponding to a preset functional adjustment signal, fatigue reception signal, and activity adjustment signal, and then determines a state of the human being from a time-series change in each power spectrum. Dominant degrees of the functional adjustment signal and activity adjustment signal are compared as distribution rates thereof, in addition to a degree of progress of fatigue, to determine a state of the human being, for example a relaxed state, fatigued state, prominent state of sympathetic nervous, prominent state of parasympathetic nervous.

A device determining a biological state of a driver more accurately, including a hypnagogic symptom phenomenon detecting mechanism, an imminent sleep phenomenon detecting mechanism, a subjective sleepiness/low consciousness traveling state detecting mechanism, and a homeostasis function level determining mechanism, which are configured to function in parallel. Therefore, detection of a hypnagogic symptom phenomenon or an imminent sleep phenomenon, or detection of a period resisting a light sleepiness mild sleepiness or a strong sleepiness which occurs consciously, or the case where a low consciousness traveling state due to a decrease in consciousness level momentarily occurs or the case where it occurs longer continuously, or the like, can be determined/detected, and the driver's biological state can be accurately determined.
