A toner for electrophotography includes toner particles containing at least a binder resin and a colorant, to which strontium titanate and hydrophobic silica as external additives are admixed, wherein the strontium titanate has a BET specific surface area of 20-50 m/g and contains particles in a rectangular parallelepiped shape and wherein the hydrophobic silica contains hydrophobic silica A that has at least a BET specific surface area of 150-300 m/g and the surface of which has been treated with an aminosilane and hexamethyldisilazane and hydrophobic silica B that has at least a BET specific surface area of 90-150 m/g and the surface of which has been treated with hexamethyldisilazane.

Toner for electrophotography and process for producing the same

An electrophotographic toner used for an image forming method that utilizes a heat-pressure type fuser equipped with a fusing member having a surface layer containing polybenzimidazole, wherein the toner comprises at least cycloolefin copolymer resins as binder resins. The cycloolefin copolymer resins comprise a mixture of 0 to 75 percent by weight of a low molecular weight component having a weight-average molecular weight of less than 15000, 5 to 25 percent by weight of a medium molecular weight component having a weight-average molecular weight of 15000 to 100000, and 20 to 95 percent by weight of a high molecular weight component having a weight-average molecular weight of more than 100000.

Toner for electrophotography and method for forming image using the same

The object of the present invention is to provide a full-color toner for oil-less fixing that is able to maintain adequate image density over a long period of time in all types of environments even in the case of continuous printing of a large number of sheets, does not result in the occurrence of problems such as black spots (BS) caused by filming on the photosensitive member or fusing to developing members, demonstrates high image quality similar to that of silver halide photographs, namely, adequate glossiness, color mixing property (color reproduction property) and transparency as full-color images for printed images, and is able to demonstrate adequate optical transmittance in OHP images. In order to achieve the object, the present invention provides a full-color toner for oil-less fixing comprising a cyclo-olefin copolymer resin as a binder resin and a wax or waxes added as a release agent at the total weight of 7.0-20% by weight relative to the weight of a toner particle, and having 15 or more of glossiness of a printed image face.

Full-color toner for oil-less fixing

Toner used for electrophotography includes a polylactic acid type biodegradable resin and a terpene-phenol copolymer. The molar concentration of one of the L-lactic acid units and D-lactic acid units in a lactic acid component of the polylactic acid type biodegradable resin is in the range between about 75 mol % and about 98 mol %. The terpene-phenol copolymer may include at least one composition selected from the group consisting of: (a) cyclic terpene-phenol copolymer, prepared by copolymerizing cyclic terpene and phenol; (b) cyclic terpene/phenol (1:2 molar ratio) addition product, prepared by adding two molecules of phenol to one molecule of cyclic terpene (c) polycyclic terpene/phenol (1:2 molar ratio) addition product, prepared by a condensation reaction of the cyclic terpene/phenol (1:2 molar ratio) addition product with one of aldehyde and ketone, and (d) polycyclic terpene/phenol (1:1 molar ratio) addition product, prepared by a condensation reaction of a cyclic terpene/phenol (1:1 molar ratio) addition product with one of aldehyde and ketone. The toner of the invention is applicable to a full-color toner.

Toner for electrophotography

A method of transferring a magnetic toner to a paper sheet includes steps of disposing the magnetic toner on a surface of an image supporting member, superimposing the paper sheet on the surface of the image supporting member, and transferring the magnetic toner to the paper sheet via transferring means, characterized in that the transferring means includes a magnetic material and transfers the magnetic toner to the paper sheet via a magnetic force of a magnetic field produced by the magnetic material.
