When a 2-dimensional video image is displayed, a front/rear feeling and a stereoscopic feeling are enabled to be expressed. A detection signal Sd is formed by a high pass filter,and a rectifying circuit,in accordance with an amount of edge information. The detection signal Sd is supplied to a variable delay circuit,L. A detection signal Sd&prime; is supplied to a variable delay circuit,R. The variable delay circuits,L and,R are controlled in accordance with the edge information amount so that a video image for the left eye and a video image for the right eye are moved in the opposite directions. Thus, an imaginary image is synthesized to the front or rear side from a display plane. The left and right video images are displayed on CRTs,L and,R. The projection light passes through a horizontal polarizing filter,L and a vertical polarizing filter,R and the left and right video images are overlapped on a screen,. The left and right video images are separately observed by glasses,having polarizing filters,L and,R and a stereoscopic feeling is enhanced.

Video display method and video display apparatus

A semiconductor memory includes an input buffer means for storing inputted data, an output buffer means for storing the data and for outputting the data and a storage means for storing the data outputted from the input buffer means and for transferring the data to the output buffer means. The input buffer means includes a plurality of memories having equal capacity. The output buffer means also includes a plurality of memories having equal capacity. The memory means have memory capacity of a divisor of memory capacity per line of the storage means. In addition, the semiconductor memory can also include a dividing means for dividing image data outputted from said input buffer into smaller data units to be written on said storage means and a recombining means for said smaller data units outputted from said storage means to supply to said output buffer means.

A video memory, for use with a video tape recorder, a television receiver of the like to process a picture, is simplified and can achieve the functions of a time base corrector, a noise reducer and a comb filter, so as to considerably improve the quality of a video picture. A frequency converting circuit for use with the video memory includes a comparator for comparing first and second address signals and an address correction circuit connected to receive an output signal from the comparator. When a crossing occurs between the first and second address signals, the sequential order in which an address signal is supplied to the memory is switched by the address correcting circuit, to thereby derive a continuous output signal from the memory.
