A powertrain system includes a control device configured, where an engine speed at the time of detection of an acceleration request with a high acceleration request index value is lower than a specific engine speed, to: set the specific engine speed as an initial target engine speed for an acceleration associated with the acceleration request; and in a first acceleration time period before reaching the initial target engine speed, control an internal combustion engine in accordance with a first target engine power based on the initial target engine speed and supply, to an electric motor, a battery power corresponding to a difference obtained by subtracting the first target engine power from a required vehicle power. The specific engine speed is a value predetermined as a lower limit value of an engine speed range in which engine sound of the internal combustion engine is heard inside the vehicle.

Powertrain system

A vehicle control system configured to operate a vehicle in line with a driver's intention in respective operating mode. An operating mode of the vehicle is select from a normal mode in which a first acceleration characteristic is employed, and a sport mode in which a second acceleration characteristic to propel the vehicle in a dynamic manner is employed. In the normal mode, a controller increases a target acceleration with an increase in depression of an accelerator at a first change rate, and decreases the target acceleration with an increase in a vehicle speed at a second change rate. In the sport mode, the controller increases the target acceleration with an increase in depression of the accelerator at the first change rate, and decreases the target acceleration with an increase in the vehicle speed at a third change rate smaller than the second change rate.

Vehicle control system

A drive force control system for improving operational easiness of an accelerator. The control system is configured to: set a slope of a target acceleration such that the target acceleration is increased with a reduction in a vehicle speed; detect an operating period of the accelerator between turning points at which an operating speed of the accelerator is changed from a low speed to a high speed; set the slope of the target acceleration in accordance with the detected operating period; and set the slope of the target acceleration of a case in which the operating period of the accelerator is longer than a predetermined operating period steeper than the slope of the target acceleration set in accordance with the predetermined operating period.

Drive force control system for vehicle

A control device is for an internal combustion engine including a throttle valve and a variable valve mechanism, and configured to be operated at a prescribed target air-fuel ratio and capable of restarting from an intermittent stop. The control device includes an electronic control unit configured to start the internal combustion engine after starting an intake air amount reduction control, when a fuel injection amount equal to or larger than a prescribed amount is required and an intermittent stop time is equal to or longer than a prescribed time in a case of the restart from the intermittent stop. The intermittent stop time is a stop time from an immediately preceding intermittent stop to a current restart of the internal combustion engine. The intake air amount reduction control is a control of reducing the intake air amount by operating the variable valve mechanism with the throttle valve kept fully closed.

Control device for internal combustion engine

A control device is configured to read a required operation point of the internal combustion engine at the moment of restart following after intermittent stoppage, and to execute, when it is determined that the required operation point belongs to a reduced-cylinder operation allowed region and also to a reduced-cylinder operation restricted region which lies on a high load side of the reduced-cylinder operation allowed region, an all-cylinder operation and then move into a reduced-cylinder operation. When it is determined that the required operation point belongs to the reduced-cylinder operation allowed region but not to the reduced-cylinder operation restricted region, the control device is configured to switch the engine to the reduced-cylinder operation without execution of the all-cylinder operation.

A control apparatus for the hybrid vehicle is provided with: a first switcher configured to switch between a HV running mode in which the internal combustion engine is operated for the hybrid vehicle to run, and an EV running mode in which the internal combustion engine is stopped and the power of the power source is used for the hybrid vehicle to run; a second switcher configured to switch between a first mode and a second mode in which an acceleration performance is emphasized more than in the first mode; and a controller programmed to control the transmission in such a manner that the transmission stage in a particular state in which the EV running mode and the second mode are selected is reduced in comparison with the transmission stage when the hybrid vehicle is not in the particular state.

Control apparatus for hybrid vehicle

A control apparatus for a hybrid vehicle controls a hybrid vehicle, the hybrid vehicle including: a power source including an internal combustion engine and an electric; a recirculating device configured to recirculate an exhaust gas from an exhaust side to an intake side of the internal combustion engine; and a recirculation amount adjusting device configured to adjust an amount of the recirculation by the recirculating device. The start system related to the present invention is for an internal combustion engine of a hybrid vehicle. The hybrid vehicle is configured to use at least one of a differential mechanism and a transmission gear mechanism to temporarily change an engine speed in starting of the internal combustion engine. The start system includes an electronic control unit. The electronic control unit is configured to determine a duration for which the engine speed needs to be changed in starting of the internal combustion engine. The electronic control unit is configured to determine a degree of change in the engine speed in starting of the internal combustion engine. The electronic control unit is configured to determine whether the engine speed needs to be changed by changing the gear position of the transmission gear mechanism based on the degree and the duration.

Start system and start control method for internal combustion engine of hybrid vehicle

A vehicle control apparatus is provided with: a first controlling device that controls an internal combustion engine to switch an air fuel ratio after an air intake quantity of the internal combustion engine increases to a first predetermined quantity in switching the internal combustion engine from a first combustion mode to a second combustion mode, the air fuel ratio in the second combustion mode being larger than that in the first combustion mode; and a second controlling device that controls the internal combustion engine to perform a suppression operation for suppressing a decrease of a rotation number of the internal combustion engine during at least one portion of a predetermined period at which the air intake quantity increases due to the switching from the first combustion mode to the second combustion mode.

Vehicle control apparatus

A control apparatus for a hybrid vehicle is provided with a first charge controlling device configured to maintain output of an internal combustion engine at a predetermined value or more, and to charge a power storing device with an output excess with respect to an output request for the internal combustion engine. The control apparatus includes a second charge controlling device configured to charge the power storing device with an output increment caused by upshift of a gear shifting device. The control apparatus further includes a transmission time changing device configured to extend an execution time of the upshift or to delay start timing of the upshift, in order to prevent charge power for the power storing device from exceeding an input limit value for the power storing device, if the control time of the output reduction request overlaps the control time of the upshift request.

A control apparatus for an internal combustion engine is provided. The control apparatus includes an ECU. The ECU is configured to change, in a stepped manner, an air-fuel ratio of the internal combustion engine so as to change over a combustion mode of the internal combustion engine between lean combustion and stoichiometric combustion, when an operating point of the internal combustion engine satisfies a first changeover condition that is defined by a rotational speed and a torque of the internal combustion engine. The first changeover condition is defined by the rotational speed and the torque that correspond to a predetermined intake air amount at which a thermal efficiency of the internal combustion engine is maintained before and after changeover of the combustion mode.

Control apparatus for internal combustion engine

A control apparatus, which is configured to control a hybrid vehicle, is provided with: a device configured to determine whether or not there is a response delay of the supercharger; a device configured to control torque of the rotary electric machine to compensate for an insufficiency of torque of a drive shaft if there is the response delay when an output limit value of the battery is greater than or equal to a predetermined value; a device configured to estimate a NOx storage amount in the NOx storage/reduction catalyst; and a device configured to control an air-fuel ratio of the internal combustion engine to be rich if the NOx storage amount is greater than or equal to a predetermined value, or if there is the response delay when the output limit value of the battery is less than the predetermined value.

A control apparatus is applied to a hybrid vehicle including an internal combustion engine that is capable of changing over its combustion state between lean combustion and stoichiometric combustion. The control apparatus executes noise suppression control by limiting the operating point of the internal combustion engine to be upon a noise suppression line for lean combustion or to be upon a noise suppression line for stoichiometric combustion, so that the noise generated by a power transmission mechanism is suppressed. When changing over from lean combustion to stoichiometric combustion during execution of noise suppression control, the control apparatus of the present invention changes the air/fuel ratio after changing the operating point of the internal combustion engine from one point to a point that is more toward the lower torque side of the noise suppression line.

An electronic control unit included in a control system is configured to execute a change of a combustion mode in an inertia-phase period during a gear shift operation, or after the gear shift operation is completed, when a request for the change of the combustion mode and a request for a gear shift of the transmission mechanism overlap. The electronic control unit is configured to execute the change of the combustion mode in the inertia-phase period during the gear shift operation when conditions i) and ii) are established, and execute the change of the combustion mode after the gear shift operation is completed when conditions i) and iii) are established. The aforementioned conditions include: i) the change of the combustion mode is accompanied by an increase in engine power; ii) the power running mode is executed during the gear shift operation; and iii) the regeneration mode is executed during the gear shift operation.

Control system for hybrid vehicle

A control device according to the invention moves an operation point of an internal combustion engine such that a distribution of engine torque with respect to required torque is reduced and then carries out air-fuel ratio control for reducing an air-fuel ratio of the internal combustion engine in a case where an operation mode of the internal combustion engine should be switched from a lean combustion mode to a stoichiometric combustion mode.
