A battery pack with a reduced resistance connection arrangement in which battery cells are arranged in rows in an insulating case and an electrode of each battery cell is coupled to an electrode of another battery cell through a connecting metallic plate. The connecting metallic plate is made of copper and is disposed on a positive electrode of one battery cell and a negative electrode of another battery cell to form a lap joint. Welds are formed in predetermined positions on the connecting metallic plate above the positive and negative electrodes by arc spot welding. The electrodes are formed of nickel-coated steel. The depth h of weld penetration in the weld is greater than the thickness Tof the connecting metallic plate and smaller than the thickness Tplus the thickness Tof one of the electrodes, that is, T&#x3c;h&#x2266;(T+T&#xd7;4/5).

Battery pack and method for welding cells

An electrical storage device includes: a conductive battery house casing electrically connected to a chassis; a plurality of battery cells held in the battery house casing; and a control unit that comprises a circuit that manages the plurality of battery cells and is mounted on the battery house casing so that a negative terminal of the circuit and the battery house casing are electrically conducting.

A battery module is configured so that the first cell string and the second cell string are arranged between the first plate member and the second plate member and the second cell string is arranged closer to the second plate member side than the first cell string is and is arranged closer to the outlet side than the first cell string is. In a magnetic recording and reproduction apparatus, for simplifying the structure of a fixing device of an audio-control head and for decreasing the number of adjustment procedures, a synthetic resin part formed of a plate member is molded of a resin integrally with a shaft part extending in a through hole in a base and with a fixed part provided on the opposite surface of the base to the surface of the base on which the plate member is provided, so that the synthetic resin part can be rotated around the through hole; an audio-control head is provided on a head plate, which is pressed toward the base by a spring fitted on a spring fixing screw; and three adjustment screws include screw parts which support the head plate, and cylindrical parts which abut against the surface of the base through holes bored through the synthetic resin part. Positioning of the audio-control head in a moving direction of a magnetic tape is effected by an adjustment jig between a notch on the synthetic resin part and a projection part on the base. Two of the adjustment screws are located on a straight line passing the center of the through hole in the base and the center of a control head, which positions are on the front and rear sides of the control head. Mainly, the height of the audio-control head is adjusted by one of the adjustment screws, the inclination angle .theta. is adjusted by another adjustment screw, and the azimuth angle is adjusted by the other one.
