The present invention discloses a pressure processing method and processing apparatus for sterilization, denaturation, etc. of food materials. A free piston is fitted in a pressure container so that the free piston is slidable in an axial direction of the container, the pressure container being partitioned by the free piston into two chambers to prevent mixing and contact between a material to be processed and pressure medium. The material to be processed filled in and supplied to one chamber is pressure-processed by the sliding movement of the piston caused by supplying the pressure medium to the other chamber. Three or more pressure containers, in each of which is fitted a free piston, are provided, and a series of processing operations including pressurizing and holding, discharge and supply of the material to be processed are carried out in a batch continuous manner in the same time zone.

Pressure Processing method for food materials

A pressure processing method and processing apparatus for sterilization, denaturation, etc. of food materials include a free piston fitted in a pressure container so that the free piston is slidable in an axial direction of the container, the pressure container being partitioned by the free piston into two chambers to prevent mixing and contact between a material to be processed and a pressure medium. Processing apparatus for food materials

A process for compacting radioactive waste by precompressing the waste in each of capsules while filling the waste into the capsule to thereby compress the waste to the desired bulk/true density ratio under a small total pressing load and diminish damage to the inner surface of the die used, each of the capsules having a cross sectional form corresponding to a divided segment of the cross section of an HIP treatment container, then placing the capsules into the HIP treatment container, subsequently filling the HIP treatment container with a metal powder as a filler, thereafter degassing and sealing the HIP treatment container and subjecting the container to an HIP treatment in its entirety. The process precludes scattering of the radioactive substance from the waste and release of waste fragments to assure improved safety.

Process for compacting radioactive metal wastes

A system for treating radioactive waste employing a rotary mechanism which contains in its rotational path of travel a number of stages for the treatment, i.e., a stage of condensing a slurry of radioactive waste, a stage for drying the condensed waste and a stage for storing dried waste temporarily for feeding to a melting furnace. The rotary mechanism employs a number of containers for transferring the radioactive waste to and from the respective stages along the rotational path of travel.

A microwave melter in which a material charged in a crucible is heated and melted by irradiation of microwaves, the melter including a melting furnace having an upper furnace body fixedly mounted on a support structure and a lower furnace body detachably connectable with the upper furnace body, a waveguide for guiding microwaves from a microwave generator toward the furnace, a crucible received rotatably and in a suspended state in the lower furnace body, and a feed pipe for feeding untreated material to the crucible.

Billet milling equipment including first frames which are laid on a traveling path of a billet, a pair of upper and lower clamping frames which are movable so as to follow a deformation of the billet and which are installed on the first frames, and milling cutter units which normally follow a surface of the billet to be cut in correspondence with the deformation of the billet and which are installed on the clamping frames in a manner to be capable of advancing or retreating relative to the surface to-be-cut. On the basis of a signal from a flaw detector, a milling cutter of the milling cutter unit which is following the deformation of the billet is rotated in pressed contact with the surface to-be-cut of the billet, whereby a flaw is removed by the cutting.
