A fuel supply device includes a pump unit, a lid unit and a strut linking unit. The pump unit is located on a bottom of a fuel tank for discharging fuel from the fuel tank to an outside thereof. The lid unit is attached to an upper wall of the fuel tank to close an opening formed in the upper wall. The lid unit has a fuel discharge port. The strut linking unit connects the lid unit to the pump unit. The strut linking unit includes an upper-side strut member, which is formed as an independent component from the lid unit. The strut linking unit includes a lower-side strut member, which is movably connected to the upper-side strut member in a vertical direction. The upper-side strut member is connected to the lid unit by a snap-fit connection. A connecting portion between the upper-side strut member and the lid unit has a stress concentration portion, which is preferentially damaged when an external force is applied to the strut linking unit.

Fuel supply device

An air cleaner element includes an element body, which filters an air flow, and a guard member secured to the element body. The air flow is introduced into the element body through a first end surface of the element body. The air flow is then filtered and sent out from a second end surface. The guard member has a leg portion, which is secured to an outer circumferential portion of the first end surface of the element body. The guard member projects toward the upstream side of the air flow and includes guard portions which are connected together at the distal ends of the guard portions. The guard portions function as a handle when the element body is removed or installed and as a blockage portion that prevents large-sized foreign matter from entering the element body.

Air cleaner element

The present invention relates to a producing method of a laminated filter that carries out a corrugating operation and an adhering operation of filter media in the same step. A corrugation forming apparatus () sandwiches first and second filter media () in their superposed state, and heats and presses the first and second filter media () at the softening temperature of the second filter medium () to corrugate the filter media (), and thermally adheres the first and second filter media () to each other. With this, it is possible to carry out the corrugating operation and the adhering operation of the first and second filter media () in the same step.

Producing method of laminated filter

A protector for holding a filter medium thereon is made of resin and composed of a plurality of pillar members. The pillar members are disposed in parallel with each other in a longitudinal direction thereof and forming a circular shape with intervals respectively between adjacent two pillar members. Accordingly, the protector can be easily manufactured by molding and can be easily scrapped after its use. The protector further has a positioning member for positioning the protector in a case. Accordingly, a number of parts in a filter device can be reduced, resulting in a decrease in man-hours for assembling the parts.

Protector for holding filter medium

A filter element for use in an oil filter is composed of main fibers of at least 5 .mu.m diameter and micro fibers of less than 5 .mu.m diameter. The micro fibers are filled in a density of 0.005 to 0.02 g/cm.sup.3. A slurry including the fibers is drawn into a suction unit through suction openings to form a molded body. The filter element is given a density gradient such that the micro fibers are denser in the inner periphery than in the outer periphery. Following the drawing step, the molded body together with the inner mold is removed for subsequent dehydration and heating. During those processes the inner mold is kept located within the molded body.
