An automatic tilting vehicle including a pair of wheels rotatably supported by wheel carriers and laterally spaced apart and a vehicle tilting device that tilts the vehicle to the inside of a turn when turning. The vehicle tilting device includes a swing member, an actuator that swings the swing member about a swing axis, and a pair of connecting rods pivotally attached to the swing member and the wheel carriers on both lateral sides of the vehicle. Each connecting rod has a preset weakest portion that is buckled to be deformed in a preset direction in a preset area when a buckling load equal to or larger than a preset value is applied.

Automatic tilting vehicle

A suspension device for a non-steered driving wheel including a wheel carrier having an in-wheel motor incorporated therein for driving the driving wheel, and a suspension arm pivotally supported on a vehicle body and connected to the wheel carrier by a connecting structure. The connecting structure includes a plate member fixed to the wheel carrier by fastening and a pair of elastic bushing devices attached to the plate member. The suspension arm has an open cross sectional portions for receiving portions of the plate member and the elastic bushing devices, and the elastic bushing devices are fixed to the open cross sectional portions at both ends.

Suspension device for non-steered driving wheel incorporating in-wheel motor

A torsion beam type suspension including a torsion beam in which arms are formed by bending both ends of a pipe material and also includes wheel installation members fixed to the arms, respectively. Portions to be inserted of the wheel installation members are inserted into open ends of the arms, and the wheel installation members are welded to the arms. The torsion beam type suspension can be produced at low cost and have high quality.

It is an object of the present invention to provide a mounting structure of a thermal shield for an oil pump which makes it possible to securely mount the thermal shield at one point with high reliability and at a low cost. To achieve this object, a thermal shield for preventing radiant heat from an exhaust pipe from being transmitted to an oil pump is securely clamped to a support plate portion of a bracket which is disposed contiguous to the thermal shield. The thermal shield and the bracket are provided with an engaging protrusion portion and a positioning hole respectively. The thermal shield and the bracket are positioned through engagement of the engaging protrusion portion with the positioning hole.

The present invention is to provide a base material for a laminate having a high strength, reduced thickness, and light weight. In the present invention, a base material is prepared by incorporating a thermosetting resin binder into a non-woven fabric of para-aramid fibers prepared by a wet type paper making, and then heating a plurality of the resultant non-woven fabric sheets under pressure. The non-woven fabric sheet comprises 95 to 70 mass % of the para-aramid fibers and 5 to 30 mass % of the thermosetting resin binder.

A pedal supporting structure in which a pedal is prevented from being moved in a direction toward a passenger compartment if a deformation occurs in a dash panel in the direction toward the passenger compartment. A pedal bracket pivotally supports a lever portion of the pedal. A connection mechanism disengageably engages a portion of the pedal bracket to a body member located near the pedal bracket. A guiding mechanism guides movement of the pedal bracket so that the movement of the pedal bracket causes movement of the pedal relative to the body member in a rear-to-front direction of the vehicle.

A structure for controlling the displacement of a pedal for a vehicle includes: a pedal bracket whose front end side is coupled to a first vehicle body-side component member, and whose rear end side is coupled to a second vehicle body-side component member; a suspended-type pedal for a vehicle whose rotating shaft portion serving as a center of swinging motion is supported by the pedal bracket; and a sliding and guiding surface for causing the pedal bracket to be rotatively displaced substantially toward a front side of the vehicle in a side view by causing the rear end side of the pedal bracket to be displaced substantially toward a lower side of the vehicle when the external force is applied, wherein the pedal bracket is coupled to the first vehicle body-side component member in such a manner as to be rotatable about the front end side thereof substantially in a vertical direction of the vehicle. Accordingly, when an external force of a predetermined value or greater is applied to the front of the vehicle, rotative displacement acting substantially toward the front side of the vehicle occurs in the pedal bracket, thereby making it possible to provide control such that the stepping surface of the pedal for a vehicle is displaced substantially toward the front side of the vehicle.

A structure for controlling displacement of a vehicle pedal includes: a pedal bracket supporting a rotating shaft portion of a suspended-type vehicle pedal, a front end portion of the pedal bracket being joined to a first vehicle structural member which deforms substantially toward a rear of a vehicle when an external force of a predetermined value or greater is applied to a front portion of the vehicle, and a rear end portion of the pedal bracket being joined to a second vehicle structural member which is disposed at a substantially vehicle rear side of the first vehicle structural member; a separating device for canceling a joined state of the rear end portion of the pedal bracket and the second vehicle structural member by the pedal bracket being displaced substantially toward the rear of the vehicle, so as to separate the rear end portion of the pedal bracket and the second vehicle structural member; and a displacement controlling device disposed in a vicinity of the rear end portion of the pedal bracket, for controlling displacement of a stepping surface of the vehicle pedal by regulating displacement, in a substantially vehicle transverse direction, of the rear end portion of the pedal bracket which rear end portion has been separated from the second vehicle structural member.

Structure for controlling displacement of vehicle pedal

A suspension arm whose required strength is relatively small and which improves efficiency of space utilization. The arm body of the lower arm of a front suspension has a C-shaped cross section which is open toward the bottom. The top face of the arm body is positioned under a load acting plane. The shear center of cross section of the arm body can be positioned substantially in the vicinity of the load acting plane. A torsion caused by an input load is reduced, so that the arm body has an excellent torsional rigidity. Since the load acting plane is located outside the arm body, a space provided outside the arm body can be increased accordingly. Further, since a required strength of the lower arm can be made smaller, the cross sectional area of the lower arm can be decreased. This decreases the distance between the closed end and the open end of the arm body, thereby providing a sufficiently large space outside the arm body with a resultant improved efficiency of space utilization. This increase in space is advantageous to the positional relationship between the lower arm and a steering gear.

A suspension arm adapted for use in a suspension system of an automotive vehicle, the suspension arm being in the form of a single structure made of sheet metal pressed in an approximately L-shape and having a rear arm portion formed at one end thereof with a rear mounting portion mounted on a vehicle body structure and at the other end thereof with a support portion supporting a road wheel mounted thereon and a front arm portion bifurcated from an intermediate portion of the rear arm portion and formed at a distal end thereof with a front mounting portion mounted on the vehicle body structure at a position spaced from the rear mounting portion in a fore-and-aft direction of the vehicle, wherein a crotched portion between the front and rear arm portions is in the form of a lower stiffness portion to be buckled or deformed when applied with an impact force in the fore-and-aft direction of the vehicle, and wherein the front and rear arm portions are reinforced at their outer peripheries except for a region of the low stiffness portion to provide enhanced transverse stiffness of the suspension arm in a lateral direction of the vehicle.
