As viewed from a side, an output shaft is disposed rearward of a crankshaft, and an odd-numbered stage shaft and an even-numbered stage shaft are disposed rearward of the crankshaft. Moreover, the odd-numbered stage shaft is provided on a side opposite to the even-numbered stage shaft relative to a line connecting the crankshaft and the output shaft, and a shift drum is disposed on a side opposite to the output shaft relative to a line connecting the odd-numbered stage shaft and the even-numbered stage shaft. This structure reduces dimensions of the power unit for the saddled vehicle.

Power unit for saddled vehicle

A synchronizer-mechanism-equipped transmission capable of moving tips of sleeve teeth and ring teeth away from butting each other by moving a synchronizer sleeve with biasing means even if the tips of the sleeve teeth and ring teeth are in contact when actuator driving stops. When sleeve teeth of a synchronizer sleeve that moves during gear shifting are located at a first synchronization position where the sleeve teeth begin to come into contact with ring teeth, a pressing member of a detent mechanism is in contact with a pre-gear-shifting detent recessed portion of a star cam.

Synchronizer-mechanism-equipped transmission

A twin-clutch transmission that can always effectively reduce gear shift shock and a collision sound even under the existence of variation attributed to component tolerance and change over the ages attributed to wear. A twin-clutch transmission calculates a rotational speed difference (|Na&#x2212;Nb|) between an odd-stage main shaft rotational speed (Na) and an even-stage main shaft rotational speed (Nb) and learns synchronization start gear shift drive displacement (&#x3b8;s) detected by a gear shift drive displacement detecting unit at the timing at which the rotational speed difference (|Na&#x2212;Nb|) reaches a predetermined synchronization start determination rotational speed difference (Ds) from gear shift start. The twin-clutch transmission controls an actuator on the basis of the learned synchronization start gear shift drive displacement (&#x3b8;s).

Twin-clutch transmission

A shift drum angle detecting device for a transmission includes shift forks, a shift drum, a first sensor shaft, a first angle sensor, a speed increasing mechanism, and a second angle sensor. The first angle sensor is to detect a rotational angle of the first sensor shaft to output a first output value based on the rotational angle. The speed increasing mechanism includes a speed increasing drive member, a speed increasing driven member, and a second sensor shaft. The second angle sensor is provided to the second sensor shaft to detect a rotational angle of the second sensor shaft and to output a second output value based on the rotational angle. A rotational angle of the shift drum is to be detected based on the first output value output from the first angle sensor and the second output value output from the second angle sensor.

Shift drum angle detecting device for transmission

A shift control device for a vehicle transmission is provided in which drive means for making a shift drum pivot is connected to the shift drum, wherein the drive means () includes a power source () disposed on at one end, in the axial direction, of the shift drum (), and a transmission shaft () to which power from the power source () is transmitted at the one end, in the axial direction, of the shift drum (), power from the transmission shaft () being transmitted to the other end, in the axial direction, of the shift drum (). This enables an internal combustion engine to be made compact while avoiding a concentrated disposition of the drive means on one side, in the axial direction, of the shift drum.

Shift control device for vehicle transmission

An electric motorcycle in which a power drive unit and a motive power generation motor for traveling are secured to a swing arm swinging around a pivot shaft, and power from a battery is supplied through the power drive unit to the motive power generation motor. A hollow inside of the swing arm is partitioned into an air introducing space and an equipment fixing space by a partition wall. The power drive unit is secured in the equipment fixing space so as to be in close contact with the partition wall and a fin extending from the partition wall to the air introducing space are formed at a fixing surface of the air introducing space to which the power drive unit is attached.

Electric motorcycle

A gear shift device is used in a transmission of an engine, and includes: a shift drum that changes a speed change stage of the transmission according to a rotational position about an axis; an actuator having a driving shaft substantially orthogonal to this shift drum; a worm shaped barrel cam that is arranged parallel to the driving shaft of this actuator and that has a cam groove on an outer circumference; and a wheel gear that is coaxially fixed on the shift drum and that has a plurality of pins on an outer circumference. At least a pair of each pin of the wheel gear and the cam groove of the barrel cam is engaged with each other, and the shift drum is rotated by the actuator via the barrel cam and the wheel gear, to thereby change the speed change stage of the transmission.

Gear shift device

A transmission is provided in which gear trains for multiple shift stages are provided between a countershaft and a first main shaft and second main shaft running coaxially and relatively rotatably through the first main shaft so that the gear trains can be alternatively established, wherein a plurality of odd number stage gear trains (G, G, G) are provided between the second main shaft () and the countershaft () so that the first speed gear train (G) is disposed on the opposite side to the first and second clutches (), an end part of the second main shaft () on the first speed gear train (G) side is rotatably supported on an engine main body via a main shaft side ball bearing () having a larger diameter than an outer diameter of a first speed drive gear () provided integrally with the second main shaft (), and an outer race () of the main shaft side ball bearing () is fixed to the engine main body via a fixing plate () engaging with an outer peripheral part of the outer race (). This enables the transmission to be made compact in a direction along the axis of the first and second main shafts.

Transmission

In twin clutch device used in an engine transmission, there are coaxially and adjacently arranged a first disk clutch and a second disk clutch of a hydraulic pressure type that displace a pressing member in an axial direction with externally supplied hydraulic pressure to exert a predetermined engagement force, and the first disk clutch and the second disk clutch respectively have: an engagement side hydraulic chamber that gives the pressing member a pressing force towards a clutch engagement side; and a pressure compensation hydraulic chamber that gives the pressing member a pressing force toward a clutch disengagement side to compensate a pressure of a returning action thereof. Furthermore in this twin clutch device there are provided: a first actuator that controls hydraulic pressure supply to the engagement side hydraulic pressure chamber of the first disk clutch, and a second actuator that controls hydraulic pressure supply to the engagement side hydraulic chamber of the second disk clutch; and a hydraulic pressure cut-off device that brings the first disk clutch and the second disk clutch into a disengagement state.

Twin clutch device

A twin clutch type speed-change apparatus for detecting the engagement state of a dog clutch by use of the rotational speed difference between an inner main shaft and an outer main shaft and of a signal outputted from a gear position sensor. A rotational speed difference between an inner main shaft and an outer main shaft is detected by use of inner and outer rotational speed sensors. When the engagement of the dog clutch is to be released, it is judged to complete the release if the signal outputted from the gear position sensor indicates a speed step number after shifting and the rotational speed difference is zero. It is judged as a dog-tip caught state if the signal outputted from the gear position sensor indicates a speed step number before or after shifting and the rotational speed difference is a transmission gear ratio difference.

Twin clutch type speed-change apparatus

An electric motorcycle in which the disposition space of a motor is downsized, the number of components is reduced, and the power transmission efficiency is improved. In an electric motorcycle, a swing arm is swingably supported by a vehicle body frame and supports a power generating motor. A driving shaft of the power generating motor and a rear wheel axle of a rear wheel are coupled together. A driving force of the power generating motor is transmitted to the rear wheel. In the electric motorcycle, the driving shaft of the power generating motor is disposed generally in parallel to the rear wheel axle of the rear wheel. A driving gear is provided on the driving shaft. A driving gear is in meshing engagement with a reduction gear provided on the rear wheel axle. The driving gear has a smaller diameter than that of the reduction gear. A driving force of the power generating motor is transmitted to the rear wheel axle through a reduction.

A rotation detecting device for detecting the rotational speed of a gear in a transmission without increasing the width of the gear in the axial direction, using any expensive sensor and not limiting the location of a shift drum. An internal combustion engine includes a crankcase in which a crankshaft and a transmission are accommodated. The transmission includes a plurality of gears for shifting, an input shaft for inputting a rotational drive force from the crankshaft, and an output shaft wherein the rotational drive force is transmitted from the input shaft through the gears and to the output shaft to a drive wheel. The internal combustion engine includes rotation detecting devices for respectively detecting the rotational speeds of the gears. The rotation detecting devices respectively include detecting portions opposed to the gears rotating with the rotation of the input shaft and positioned in the axial direction of the transmission.

Internal combustion engine

An electric motorcycle is provided that can air-cool a power drive unit without the provision of a plurality of cooling fans. In an electric vehicle in which a battery box housing batteries is disposed below a foot rest space and electricity supplied from the batteries is supplied to a running-purpose power-generating motor via a power drive unit, the power drive unit is attached to a swing arm turning around a pivot shaft and the battery box is formed with an air introduction port and an air discharge port used to cool the batteries. A cooling fan is provided which sucks air in the battery box from the air discharge port and sends the air toward the power drive unit. The cooling fan is disposed rearward of the air discharge port of the battery box and close to the pivot shaft.

A twin-clutch device includes first and second clutch actuating mechanisms; a first clutch disconnection/connection control mechanism for exerting on the first clutch actuating mechanism a controlling force for switching disconnection/connection of the first clutch actuating mechanism; and a second clutch disconnection/connection control mechanism for exerting on the second clutch actuating mechanism a controlling force for switching disconnection/connection of the second clutch actuating mechanism. The first and second clutch disconnection/connection control mechanisms include control actuating members that are supported on a fixing member in a non-rotating state while being allowed to move in a direction along rotation axes of a first driven rotary member and second driven rotary member, the control actuating members being respectively connected to first and second clutch actuating mechanisms via bearings. The clutch so configured reduces the inertial mass by reducing the weight of the rotary portion of the clutch.

Twin-clutch device

To reduce the axial size of a twin-clutch device including first and second clutch actuating mechanisms arranged in parallel along the axes of first and second driven shafts that are coaxial. A first clutch disconnection/connection control mechanism is provided for switching disconnection/connection of the first clutch actuating mechanism. A second clutch disconnection/connection control mechanism is provided for switching disconnection/connection of the second clutch actuating mechanism. A second clutch disconnection/connection control mechanism is arranged between first and second clutch inners so that at least a part of the second clutch disconnection/connection control mechanism is accommodated in at least one of first and second cylinder portions.
