A raindrop recognition device is configured to recognize a raindrop on a transparent panel. The raindrop recognition device includes a storage unit, an image input unit, and an image recognition unit. The storage unit stores a trained model that is a machine learning model trained using, as training data, images of the transparent panel with adhered raindrops and images of the transparent panel without adhered raindrops. Image data of the transparent panel taken by a camera is input to the input unit. The image recognition unit is configured to calculate a value representing a raindrop likeness of an object on the transparent panel in the image data by inputting the image data to the trained model. The trained model is trained by training data including images of the transparent panel with uniform background and images of the transparent panel with light source.

A vehicle wiper device including (i) a first motor that includes a first output shaft, that rotates the first output shaft to rotate a wiper arm back and forth about a pivot point of the wiper arm, and that causes a wiper blade coupled to a leading end portion of the wiper arm to perform a back and forth wiping operation between an upper return position and a lower return position on a windshield, (ii) a second motor that changes a wiping range on the windshield by the wiper blade, (iii) a rotation angle detector that detects a rotation angle of the first output shaft, and (iv) a controller that controls the second motor according to a rotation angle of the first output shaft detected by the rotation angle detector in a state in which a broad field of view should be secured on a front passenger seat side.

In a vehicle wiper device, a retaining portion is formed inside an arm piece at respective areas of a base end side fixing section, a main body, and a leading end side fixing section of the arm piece. A hose is retained by the retaining portion. This thereby enables the hose to be retained to the arm piece without using a retaining member, such as a holder, to retain the hose to the arm piece. Moreover, disposing the hose inside the arm piece enables the hose to be suppressed from being exposed or projecting out from the arm piece. The hose can accordingly be retained in the arm piece without having a detrimental effect on the appearance and while suppressing an increase in cost of the vehicle wiper device.

A vehicle wiper device includes a wiper arm, a drive source, a drive shaft that is pivoted by the drive source, and a wiper arm urging member. The wiper arm urging member includes a swing member, an inclination member, a rod, and a compression spring. The inclination member includes a wiper fixing portion and a drawing portion. The rod includes a basal end supported by the drawing portion. A first end of the compression spring is supported by the swing member and the second end applies an urging force to a distal end of the rod. The compression spring acts to draw the drawing portion and urge a distal end of the wiper arm toward a wiped surface.
