A liquid crystal display device includes a light source, a light collection part, a liquid crystal part, and an anisotropic diffusion layer. The light source emits light. The light collection part collects the light emitted from the light source in the front direction of the liquid crystal display device so that, when an image is displayed, the light collecting property in a left-right direction is different from the light collecting property in an up-down direction. The liquid crystal part controls a transmission state of the light collected by the light collection part using a liquid crystal. The anisotropic diffusion layer anisotropically diffuses the light transmitted through the liquid crystal part.

Liquid crystal display device and display apparatus

A pretensioner () for a seat belt system () of an automobile includes a gas generator (), a gas pipe (), a piston () and a coupling mechanism (). The gas generator is adapted to generate a high-pressure gas when a shock occurs in the automobile due to a collision, a sudden stop, etc. The gas pipe is formed to receive therein the gas generator. The gas pipe is adapted to guide the high-pressure gas released from the gas generator to the piston. The piston is adapted to be moved or displaced by the pressure of the high-pressure gas guided by the gas pipe. The coupling mechanism is connected to each of the piston and a buckle () of the seat belt system (). The coupling mechanism is adapted to wind up or pull a seat belt () in accordance with the movement of the piston to increase a restraining force of the seat belt.

Pretensioner and process for manufacturing the same

An air bag system comprises a housing, an inflator, an air bag, a cover, and connecting and fixing members. The inflator is supported on the housing and upon occurrence of a collision accident, blows out high-pressure gas. The air bag is supported in a folded form on the housing and in the event of the collision accident, is inflated by the high-pressure gas. The cover extends over the folded air and has convex portions formed on an inner wall thereof by inwardly thickening portions of the cover. The housing has engaged portions formed on an outer wall thereof and adapted to cooperate with the convex portions, each of the engaged portions being maintained in engagement with a respective one of the convex portions when the cover is connected to the housing. The connecting and fixing members extend through the respective convex portions and the engaged portions with the engaged portions maintained in engagement with the corresponding convex portions.
