In a linear actuator, a slide table is attached to a cylinder body via a guide mechanism so as to be movable along the longitudinal direction of the cylinder body. The slide table includes a table body arranged above the cylinder body and extending in the longitudinal direction, and an end plate joined to an end of the table body in the longitudinal direction so as to be substantially orthogonal to the table body. The end plate includes a storage chamber provided on one surface thereof in the longitudinal direction facing a guide mechanism and depressed from the one surface in a direction away from the guide mechanism. For example, when the linear actuator is used in an environment where powder dust and the like is scattered, the storage chamber stores therein a solidified matter made up of the powder dust and the like.

Linear actuator

A guide mechanism includes: a guide member having a first groove; a slide member having a second groove; and rolling bodies arranged in a guide groove comprising the first groove and the second groove. A stopper for preventing the rolling bodies from moving out of the guide groove is affixed to the second groove by welding. A method for manufacturing the guide mechanism includes a welding step in which the second groove and the stopper are welded by resistance welding while the stopper is pressed against the second groove.

Guide mechanism and method for manufacturing same

A cylinder body includes a first guide surface made up from first guide grooves and a first bulging portion, wherein a slide table is displaceably supported on the first guide surface via a guide mechanism. Additionally, guide members of a guide block that constitutes the guide mechanism are inserted into and fixed within the first guide grooves. Further, the cylinder body is equipped with a second guide surface, which is formed with substantially the same shape as the first guide surface. In the event that the first guide surface is oriented upwardly and the slide table is installed thereon, the second guide surface acts as a mounting surface, whereas, in the event that the second guide surface is oriented upwardly and the slide table is installed thereon, the first guide surface acts as the mounting surface.

A linear actuator comprises a piston which is provided in an actuator body and which is displaceable under a pressure fluid, a slide table which is integrally connected to the piston and which is linearly displaceable, a rod which is engaged with the slide table and which has a shaft section inserted into an engagement hole of the piston, end blocks which are connected to ends of the actuator body, and stoppers which are provided on end surfaces of the end blocks and which adjust a displacement amount of the slide table.

A plurality of connecting members are provided to a tool adaptor to which a tool is mounted, a plurality of connecting jaw members having inclined faces which are engaged with and detached from the connecting members when the connecting jaw members are displaced in radial directions, a rod that expands and contracts due to operation of air pressure, and a cam-type converting mechanism for converting the expanding/contracting operation of the rod to operations of displacement of the jaw members are provided to a mounting unit mounted to a robot hand, and a stopper portion for preventing the connecting member from being detached and falling from the inclined face when the air pressure reduces is provided to each the jaw member.

A linear actuator has a cylinder body having a slot defined therein, a slide table, a joint connected substantially perpendicularly to a lower surface of the slide table, a pair of pistons slidably disposed in a through hole defined in the cylinder body and defining respective cylinder chambers in the through hole, for displacing the joint in response to a fluid under pressure supplied to one of the cylinder chambers, a guide projecting from a lower surface of the slide table, a pair of spaced guide blocks projecting from an upper surface of the cylinder body, and a plurality of balls rollingly interposed between the guide and the guide blocks.
