Method and apparatus for manufacturing a synthetic resin-made hollow member incorporating an intermediate element are provided which enable operations of molding half bodies, abutting and joining the half bodies together, and molding an intermediate element in a series of steps, and which eliminate the necessity of such a manual work as may otherwise be required in incorporating the intermediate element into the half bodies. A pair of rotary injection molding dies are used which can be opened and closed relative to each other and are rotatable relative to each other over an angle of 60&#xb0; for each turn, each die having a half body molding section including one male molding portion and two female molding portions in the direction of rotation for each rotational run over an angle of 120&#xb0;, each die also having an intermediate element molding portion provided between specified half body molding portions in the direction of each rotational run over an angle of 120&#xb0;. In each two rotational runs of the molding dies, a series of steps is carried out including first injection for molding a pair of half bodies and an intermediate element, molded product setting for matching two half bodies with the intermediate element set in place and abutting the two half bodies against each other, and second injection for injecting melted resin onto the abutting portions and joining the two half bodies, whereby a hollow member with the intermediate element set between the two half bodies can be obtained.

The resin-made floor panel structure including a trunk floor F made of resin, and a trunk board B made of resin disposed so as to cover the trunk floor, a foamed layer having foams exposed at least in part is provided only on the side of the trunk board facing the floor panel. Thereby, in using resin materials for a floor panel, transmission of noise in the floor to the compartment side can be suppressed by a relatively simple structure without increasing the weight.

An oil strainer comprises upper and lower partial bodies, made of synthetic resin, joined together to form a roughly tube-shaped strainer main body, the interior of which is provided with a filter. The oil strainer has a flange section for attachment with bolts, and the flange section is provided with at least one bolt hole which passes through the interior of the roughly tube-shaped strainer main body. With this structure, it is possible to provide an oil strainer which can be installed on a small installation surface, which is able to reduce resin fatigue, and which can prevent impairment of the seal due to loosening of installation members.

A vehicle roof rack can be made by insert molding so that the outside is coated with synthetic resin. The support bracket cores can be manufactured easily, shape and dimensional precision can be easily controlled, and reinforcing ribs can be provided while avoiding appearance defects and supplying resin to the mold from a gate on only one side. The core used for insert molding includes the rail core member of the roof rack and the core of the support bracket for mounting the roof rack to the vehicle. The support bracket core is synthetic resin, manufactured as an integral molding having pilot holes through which screws are passed for attaching the support bracket core to the rail core, and mounting bolts for mounting the support brackets and roof rack to the vehicle.

The present invention provides a channel housing comprising curving channels whereby complex and varied channels can be compactly contained. Plural curving channels that must be connected to plural valves, for example, are formed by partitioning walls forming curving channels inside a pair of symmetrical housing halves, which are then bonded together to form the complex channel system. The housing halves may be joined by welding or adhesive bonding. To improve the bonding strength, a pair of opposing channel members is provided along the length of the contacting members that are welded or bonded. The cavity formed by the opposing channel members D, D is then filled with an adhesive resin M to integrate the two halves.
