An object detection device includes at least one light source, an irradiation optical system configured to irradiate a measured object with light emitted from the light source, a light reception element configured to image reflected light reflected by the measured object, and a detection unit configured to detect the measured object based on the reflected light received by the light reception element, and the irradiation optical system includes conversion means for converting the light emitted from the light source into a plurality of regular patterns.

A holding hole of a holding body has an edge portion and an inner peripheral surface which is a concavely curved surface connected to the edge portion. In a light source unit which supports a light source, projections are formed at three locations, and each of front surfaces thereof has a convexly curved line having a curvature radius longer than that of the inner peripheral surface. When the light source unit is inserted into the holding hole, the front surfaces of the projections at the three locations are brought into point contact with the edge portion at contact portions on the convexly curved lines.

That is, a plurality of data groups A to D are recorded in the one recording areaof the recording medium, with a laser wavelength &#x3bb; varied. Hologram information recording medium and hologram information recording/reproducing device

An actuator in which, when a supporting shaft, where a mirror (control object) is provided, is tilted by receiving an electromagnetic force of a magnetic driving mechanism, small balls of a supporting mechanism move in an axial direction in a space provided between an outer base and an inner ring member. Therefore, the supporting shaft and the inner ring member holding the supporting shaft swing. At this time, since the inner ring member swings around a rotational fulcrum as center, the supporting shaft can swing around one rotational fulcrum as center at all times. A plurality of laid members serving as a rotation restricting member prevent rotation of the supporting shaft in a direction around the axis.

Actuator

When currents are applied to driving coils, electromagnetic forces are generated between the currents and magnetic fluxes passing through gaps, a shaft member is swung in one direction, and a tilt angle of a mirror (controlled object) changes relative to a support center point. Electromotive forces generated in detection coils when the magnetic fluxes pass through the detection coils are given as feedback signals to a control unit. The control unit generates currents on the basis of the feedback signals, and applies the currents to the driving coils. By detecting the velocity of the mirror during swinging with the detection coils, the structure of the actuator can be simplified. Further, the responsivity can be increased, and the tilt angle of the mirror can be detected with high accuracy.

A read head includes a light emitting member outputting a predetermined laser beam to a data recording portion, a light receiving member receiving a return beam reflected by the data recording portion and detecting data included in the return beam, a movable section mounted with the light emitting member and the light receiving member, a support mechanism swingably supporting the movable section, and a driving mechanism swinging the movable section. Here, the driving mechanism includes a magnetic field generator disposed in one of the movable section and a fixed section and a magnetic driver disposed in the other and the magnetic field generator includes a first yoke, a second yoke, and a magnet disposed between the first yoke and the second yoke, the first yoke and the second yoke are opposed to each other, and the magnetic driver includes a plurality of coils. In addition, arm portions protruding in multiple directions from one of the yokes are disposed in the coils with a movement margin, respectively.

A first virtual axis orthogonally intersects with a second virtual axis, and a third axis (axis passing a support center point) vertical to the first and second virtual axes is permitted to be a reference axis. A magnetic drive mechanism is provided with first magnetic drive sections for applying a drive power to a movable axis, which is supporting an object to be controlled, in a rotating direction of the first virtual axis or in a rotating direction parallel to the first virtual axis, and second magnetic drive sections for applying a drive power to the movable axis, in a rotating direction of the second virtual axis or in a rotating direction parallel to the second virtual axis.

A hologram information reproducing device is described which can reproduce information from a recording medium on which hologram information is recorded, and which can be downsized. In one aspect, when light from a light source is emitted, the light is converted into parallel reference light, by a lens of an optical system. A mirror changes the orientation of the reference light so that it is oriented obliquely downward towards a recording medium. More specifically, as viewed from the top, the mirror changes a path of the light from the light source unit by approximately 90 degrees. In addition, as viewed from the side, the mirror changes the path of the light from the light source unit downward by approximately 45 degrees. Since an interference pattern recorded on the recording medium is a Bragg grating, when the reference light illuminates a recording area of the recording medium, a reproduction light is obtained by Bragg diffraction. The reproduction light is reflected by a reflecting layer of the recording medium and is detected by a photodetector

Hologram information reproducing device

A compact and low-cost hologram reproducing apparatus with a simple mechanism is provided. A light sourceand a lensfor generating parallel light are provided on an inner surface of a housing. By changing the angle of a biaxially driven galvanometer mirrorprovided at an appropriate position opposing the light sourceand the lens, reflected light is applied two-dimensionally, in the vertical and horizontal directions, on a recording elementmounted below and adjacent to the housing, and is entered as reference light in holograms. Further, light beams exiting from the holograms are received at the same optimal position on a light-receiving elementdisposed in an upper part of the housing. The received light is subjected to data decoding so as to reproduce read-only holograms.

Hologram reproducing apparatus

A holographic recording medium having a recording layer on which holograms are formed by interference between an object beam and a reference beam to thereby record information. The recording layer is formed with a plurality of hologram groups each composed of a plurality of holograms. The holograms in each of the hologram groups have the same information, and adjacent holograms partially overlap each other. In addition, the holograms are arranged to be spaced apart from holograms in other hologram groups.

Holographic recording medium and writing method therefor

A high-precision positioning apparatus includes a fine driving unit for producing horizontal and small movements of a flat recording medium relative to an optical system, the medium being used for optically recording and reproducing information. The fine driving unit includes a frame-shaped unit body, a first driving frame inside the unit body, and a second driving frame inside the first driving frame and secured at a position adjacent to a magnetized portion of the recording medium. The first driving frame is movable relative to the unit body by fine driving devices in the horizontal direction of the recording medium, while the second driving frame is movable relative to the first driving frame by other fine driving devices in the horizontal direction of the recording medium and in the direction substantially orthogonal to the moving direction of the first driving frame, thereby producing horizontal and small movements of the recording medium.

High-precision positioning apparatus

There is disclosed a high precision positioning apparatus capable of realizing accurate positioning of a recording medium with respect to an optical system by minute movement at a relatively low cost. The high precision positioning apparatus comprises a driving unitfor minutely moving a flat-plate shaped recording medium, which records/reproduces information using light, with respect to an optical system in an in-plane direction of the recording medium. The driving unitcomprises a frame-shaped unit body, a first drive frameaccommodated inside the unit body, and a second drive frameaccommodated inside the first drive frameand fixed in the vicinity of a recording portionof the recording medium. The first drive framefreely moves with respect to the unit bodyby means of micro-driving elementsin an in-plane direction of the recording medium, and the second drive framefreely moves with respect to the first drive frameby means of micro-driving elementsin an in-plane direction of the recording medium, in a direction substantially perpendicular to the direction in which the first drive framemoves. Therefore, the recording mediumis minutely moved in an in-plane direction thereof.

High precision positioning apparatus

A functional multilayer film and a method for manufacturing the same is provided in which the intervals of fine metallic bodies in the thickness direction and the arrangement thereof in the surface direction are regular, and the fine metallic bodies arranged on each layer are aligned in the thickness direction. A functional multilayer film is obtained by fixing a plurality of fine metallic bodies to a matrix made of a dielectric substance. The matrix is obtained by laminating metal-arranged thin films, which each contain a dielectric thin film having a predetermined thickness and the fine metallic bodies arranged on the dielectric thin film. A plurality of recesses is regularly formed on the surface of the dielectric thin film, and the fine metallic bodies are arranged in the lower parts of the recesses.

Functional multilayer film and method for manufacturing the same

An optical shutter including a multi-layer fixed filter and a multi-layer movable filter arranged with a gap therebetween controls the transmittance of light passing through the multi-layer filters. The optical shutter includes minute driving elements provided on the movable filter. Operating the minute driving elements varies a distance of the gap defined between the fixed filter and the movable filter. Operation of the movable filter is restricted by a stopper that comes into contact with the movable filter when the gap has the maximum distance and by a bump formed on the fixed filter. The minute driving elements are joined to the movable filter with elastic bonding layers therebetween.
