A vehicle height control system includes a plurality of vehicle height adjusters actuated by a pneumatic actuating system and controlled respectively by control signals from a control unit. The control unit calculates, for each of the vehicle height adjusters, a target difference between a target adjustment position and an actual position detected by a vehicle height sensor associated with the adjuster. The control unit compares the target differences for respective vehicle height adjusters, and the adjuster having the target difference which is the largest in magnitude is first actuated to perform its adjusting operation, thereby preventing unbalanced differences in the vehicle height.

Vehicle height control system

A vehicle height control system includes a plurality of vehicle height adjusters actuated by a hydropneumatic actuating system and controlled by control signals from a control unit. The control unit calculates, for each of the vehicle height adjusters, a target difference between a target adjustment position set by a setting device and an actual position detected by a vehicle height sensor associated with the adjuster, and the control unit generates the control signals in accordance with the respective target differences. The control unit further selects a maximum target difference, and calculates deviations of the target differences from the maximum target difference. When any of the deviations exceeds a predetermined value, the adjustment operation of the vehicle height adjuster associated with this deviation is temporarily stopped thereby correcting the nonuniformity of the adjustments in the vehicle height adjusters.

An electro-optical liquid detector assembly comprises a transparent substrate attached at its front surface to a portion of the interior surface of a wind-shield where the exterior surface of the wind-shield is wiped by a wiper blade, a light emission element assembled within the substrate to emit luminous rays towards the wind-shield thereby to cause internal reflection of the luminous rays between the interior and exterior surfaces of the wind-shield, a light receiving element assembled within the substrate to receive the incident luminous rays reflected by the exterior surface of the wind-shield and to produce an electric signal indicative of an amount of the incident luminous rays, a transparent resilient sheet member interposed between the interior surface of the wind-shield and the front surface of the substrate, and a hoder fixedly mounted on a stationary member adjacent the periphery of the interior surface of the wind-shield to support the substrate thereon and press it towards the interior surface of the wind-shield through the resilient sheet member.

Electro-optical liquid detector assembly

For use in a motor vehicle having a windshield, a control system comprises a raindrop sensor which emits a beam of radiation into a section of the windshield from the inner surface thereof at such an angle of incidence that the beam reflects off the outer surface and detects the reflected beam to convert it into a first signal. The first signal is compared with a reference value to generate a second signal. A motor control circuit is responsive to the second signal for closing a window of the vehicle.
