Provided are a block polyamide acid imide having an appropriate solubility in aqueous alkaline solutions, and block polyimides that are obtained using same and have high transparency and a low coefficient of linear thermal expansion (low CTE). The block polyimide comprises blocks configured from repeating structural units represented by defined formula (1A) and blocks configured from repeating structural units represented by defined formula (1B).

A negative electrode for a lithium-ion secondary cell, the negative electrode including a layered body of a collector and a negative electrode active material layer containing an alloy-based material (A) containing silicon or tin as a constituent element, a carbon coating (C) that covers the surface of the alloy-based material (A), carbon particles (B), and a binder (D), wherein the negative electrode for a lithium-ion secondary cell is characterized in that the total pore volume and average pore diameter of the carbon particles (B), as measured by nitrogen gas adsorption, satisfy the ranges of 1.0&#xd7;10to 1.0&#xd7;10cm/g and 20 to 50 nm, respectively. The present invention addresses the problem of providing: a polyimide film that has a small phase difference in the thickness direction and has a low coefficient of linear thermal expansion; and a polyamic acid and varnish to obtain the same. In order to solve this problem, the present invention provides a polyimide film which comprises polyimide that is produced by reacting a diamine component and a tetracarboxylic dianhydride component, the polyimide film having a coefficient of linear thermal expansion of 35 ppm/K or less over a temperature range of 100 to 200 DEG C, an absolute value of phase difference in the thickness direction of 200 nm or less per 10 &#x3bc;m thickness, a glass transition temperature of 260 DEG C or more, and a total light transmittance of 85% or more.

Polyamic acid, varnish comprising same and polyimide film

The present invention addresses the problem of providing a high-transparency polyimide film in which the thickness-direction phase difference Rth is kept within a predetermined range. The present invention also addresses the problem of providing a polyamic acid and a varnish used to obtain the polyimide film. In order to overcome the aforementioned problem, the present invention is a polyimide film containing a polyimide obtained by bringing about a reaction between a tetracarboxylic dianhydride and a diamine, the polyimide film having (a) a thickness-direction phase difference Rth of &#x2212;5 to 100 nm per 10 &#x3bc;m of thickness, (b) a transmittance of 80% or more with respect to light having a wavelength of 400 nm, (c) a haze of 3% or less, and (d) a glass transition point of 250&#xb0; C. or higher.

Provided is a polyimide excellent in heat resistance and colorless transparency and also excellent in flexibility and ultraviolet ray transmittance. The polyimide includes a structural unit represented by Formula (1a) and a structural unit represented by Formula (1b) wherein R is a specific aromatic group.

The purpose of the present invention is to provide a polyimide resin which exhibits higher heat resistance than that of a conventional polyimide resin by controlling the geometric configuration of the constituent units. Provided is a polyamic acid which comprises repeating units represented by general formula (1), wherein the 1,4-bismethylenecyclohexane skeleton units consist of both trans- and cis-form units, and the contents of the trans- and cis-form units are 60 to 100% and 0 to 40% respectively (with the sum total of the trans- and cis-form units being 100%).

A polyamic acid solution includes a polyamic acid, a solvent (C) in which the polyamic acid (PAA1) is dissolved, and a substance (M) that can release at least one metal selected from groups 1 and 2 of the periodic table as a metal ion, or a substance (m) that contains the substance (M). A polyimide composite is produced from the polyamic acid solution. The polyimide composite can provide a greatly improved glass transition temperature without impairing the intrinsic physical properties of the polyimide.

Polyimide composite material and film thereof

Provided is a low-cost polyimide, containing cyclohexane diamine as a diamine unit, that has a low thermal expansion coefficient. Said block polyimide contains blocks having the repeating structural unit shown in formula (1A) and blocks having the repeating structural unit shown in formula (1B). This block polyimide is preferably obtained by imidizing a block polyamide acid imide that contains blocks having the repeating structural unit shown in formula (2A) and blocks having the repeating structural unit shown in formula (2B).

This invention provides crosslinkable-group-containing polyimides of various known thermoplastic polyimide backbone structures, which are provided with far better heat resistance, chemical resistance and mechanical properties than known polyimides of the structures without impairing excellent moldability or formability, superb sliding property, low water absorption property, outstanding electrical properties, high thermal oxidation stability and high radiation resistance, all of which are inherent to the structures.

Polyimide containing crosslinkable group and process for producing the same

A thermoplastic polyimide having good thermal stability, comprising a repeating unit represented by the chemical formula (1), a molecular terminal being composed of the chemical formula (2) and/or chemical formula (3), characterized in that: a melt viscosity ratio calculated by the numerical formula (1) and/or the numerical formula (3) is within a numerical range shown in the numerical formula (2) and/or the numerical formula (4) and 1,3-bis(4-aminophenoxy)benzene represented by the chemical formula (3) for production of the above polyimide, characterized in that the content of an azo compound is from 0.0 to 0.2%. The thermoplastic polyimide of the present invention has excellent characteristics {circle around (1)} to {circle around (4)} described below. {circle around (1)} It is superior in thermal stability on melting. That is, the degree of lowering of the fluidity on melting with a lapse of time is small and it is possible to apply to conventional melt molding. {circle around (2)} It has high heat resistance. {circle around (3)} It is superior in productivity. {circle around (4)} It is superior in dimensional accuracy.

Crystalline polyimide for melt molding with satisfactory thermal stability

There is disclosed an organic optical component prepared from a resin essentially comprising one or more repetitive structural units selected from the group consisting of structures represented by general formula (1); ##STR1## wherein A is either of the groups below. ##STR2## This invention provides an organic optical component with excellent transparency, heat resistance and mechanical strength as well as a low birefringence. This invention also provides a novel aromatic polyamide with a low permitivity and excellent transparency, processability and thermal stability, besides excellent heat resistance inherent in an aromatic polyamide.

Fluorine-containing polyamide

A low-birefringent organic optical component comprising a polymer prepared by polymerizing a racemic mixture of the monomer with an asymmetric spiro ring represented by general formula (1) as an essential ingredient; wherein ring A represents a monocyclic or polycyclic organic group, wherein two ring As are mutually bound each other via a spiro bond to form a spiro ring which has a molecular asymmetric structure; n is an integer of 0 to 10; X.sub.1 and Y.sub.1 are binding groups; and Z.sub.1 is a polymerization-active group. The component has excellent transparency, mechanical strength and heat resistance, as well as a low birefringence.

Low-birefringent organic optical component and a spirobiindan polymer

A low birefringent organic optical component prepared from a resin consisting essentially of one or more repetitive structural units selected from the group consisting of structures represented by general formula (1); ##STR1## wherein A is either of the groups below. ##STR2## The organic optical component can exhibit excellent transparency, heat resistance and mechanical strength as well as a low birefringence. Also provided is a novel aromatic polyamide with a low permitivity and excellent transparency, processability and thermal stability, besides excellent heat resistance inherent in an aromatic polyamide.

A polyimide resin composition substantially comprising 1 99.9.about.50 parts by weight of polyimide having recurring structural units of the formula ##STR1## and 2 0.1.about.50 parts by weight of a polyimide which improved melt flowability and is prepared by using 1,3-bis(3-aminophenoxy)benzene or 6,6'-bis(3-aminophenoxy)-3,3,3',3'-tetramethyl-1,1'-spirobiindane as essential diamine component, or polyether pyridine having recurring structural units of the formula: ##STR2## is disclosed. Further, a polyimide based resin composition comprising the polyimide resin composition or a polyimide copolymer obtained by using the above diamines and a fibrous reinforcement is disclosed. These compositions have remarkably good processability, excellent heat stability and repeated fatigue characteristics.
