Disclosed are: Au&#x2014;Ag core-shell nanorod particles wherein a cationic surfactant such as CTAB is substituted by an other compound; and a method for producing the Au&#x2014;Ag core-shell nanorod particles. Specifically disclosed are Au&#x2014;Ag core-shell nanorod particles which are characterized in that each of the nanorod particles comprises a gold nanorod particle that serves as the core, a shell layer that covers the surface of the gold nanorod particle and is formed from silver, and a copolymer that adsorbs on the surface of the shell layer. The Au&#x2014;Ag core-shell nanorod particles are also characterized in that the copolymer is a block copolymer or graft copolymer that is obtained by polymerizing at least a polymerizable monomer (A) that has a group represented by general formula (I). In the formula, Rrepresents an alkylene group having 2-7 carbon atoms.

A head-mounted device to be worn on a user's head includes a first pressing member to press, for example, an occipital region, a second pressing member to press, for example, a parietal region, and first and second linear members connected to the first and second pressing members respectively. The first and second linear members are guided so that a change in lengths of the first and second linear members causes the first and second pressing members to move in the first and second directions respectively. An adjustment unit to adjust the lengths of the first and second linear members includes first and second wind-up units connected to a rotational operation member and to wind up the first and second linear members respectively.

The invention provides a head mounted image-sensing display device including a pair of image-sensing units (R,L) that stereoscopically capture a physical space and output a pair of stereoscopic images, and display units (R,L) for displaying images for the right eye and images for the left eye. Image sensing parameters that are previously measured for the image-sensing units are stored in image sensing parameter storage units (R,L). As a result, a difference in parallax between captured images of a physical space and images of a virtual object is reduced.

A head-mounted device mounted on a wearer's head has a first pressing unit to press against the wearer's head from a position of his/her medulla, a second pressing unit to press against the wearer's head in an opposite direction to a pressing direction of the first pressing unit, and a mounting unit to mount the head-mounted device on the wearer's head by adjusting at least one of the first pressing unit and the second pressing unit.

Head-mounted display and head-mounted video display

A retinal scanning image display apparatus includes a light source, a scanning unit that scans a light flux from the light source, a reflective surface that reflects the light flux from the scanning unit, and an ocular unit that guides the light flux from the reflective surface to an eye of an observer. Optical paths of the light flux scanned by the scanning unit intersect at an exit pupil position of the ocular unit, and the image display apparatus causes the scanning unit and the reflective surface to shift so that the optical paths of the scanned light flux toward the same image position are respectively moved in parallel to move the intersecting position of those optical paths. This realizes a small retinal scanning image display apparatus capable of keeping the image position substantially constant even when an observer moves their pupil.

Provided is a head mounted device that can be smoothly mounted onto a head. The head mounted device includes: a frame extending from a front head side to a back head side in a mounted state onto a head; and a head holding portion attached to the frame and provided with a pad pressed to the head; in which the head holding portion, in a non-mounted state in which the device is not mounted to the head, holds the pad such that the pad is opened toward a direction in which the head mounted device is mounted onto the head as compared to the mounted state onto the head.
