A half thrust bearing having a semicircular shape includes a thrust bearing body having a slide surface that receives an axial force from a crankshaft, and thrust reliefs formed adjacent to respective end portions of the thrust bearing body. Wall thicknesses of the thrust reliefs decrease to the respective end portions. Each thrust relief length continuously increases in a direction from an inner circumference to an outer circumference of the half thrust bearing. Each thrust relief length is a length, in a direction perpendicular to a plane that includes an end portion of the half thrust bearing, from the plane to a point at which a surface of each thrust relief intersects an inner circumference of the thrust bearing body. The half thrust bearing includes a bearing alloy layer and a resin slide layer, or additionally a back metal layer. The slide surface includes the resin slide layer.

Half thrust bearing and bearing device using the same

The present invention provides a half thrust bearing in a semicircular ring shape for receiving an axial force of the crankshaft of the internal combustion engine, including thrust reliefs formed adjacent to both circumferential end portions of a slide surface which receives the axial force, so that a wall thickness of the half thrust bearing becomes thinner toward the circumferential end portions, wherein at least the thrust relief on a rear side in a rotational direction of the crankshaft has a thrust relief length which becomes larger toward an outer end portion from an inner end portion in a radial direction of the half thrust bearing. The present invention also provides a bearing device including the above half thrust bearing, a crankshaft, a pair of half bearings supporting a journal portion of the crankshaft, and a bearing housing having a holding hole for holding the pair of half bearings.

The invention provides a bearing device, including a crankshaft, a pair of half bearings each having crush reliefs adjacent to both circumferential ends thereof, a bearing housing having a retaining hole, and one half thrust bearing arranged adjacent to the retaining hole. Each half thrust bearing is configured at least by a bearing alloy layer and a resin slide layer which constitutes a slide surface receiving an axial force of the crankshaft, and thrust reliefs adjacent to both circumferential end portions of the sliding surface so that its wall thickness is made thinner toward the circumferential end surface. A thrust relief length at an inner end portion of the thrust relief positioned on a rear side in the crankshaft rotational direction is formed to be larger than a thrust relief length at an inner end portion of the thrust relief positioned on a front side.

Bearing device for crankshaft of internal combustion engine

The invention provides a thrust bearing, including a pair of half thrust bearings. Each half thrust bearing includes a bearing alloy layer and a resin slide layer, or a back metal layer, a bearing alloy layer and a resin slide layer. The resin slide layer constitutes a slide surface receiving an axial force of a crankshaft. Each half thrust bearing include thrust reliefs formed adjacent to both circumferential end portions of the sliding surface so that a wall thickness is thinner toward the circumferential end surface. A thrust relief length at an inner end portion of the thrust relief positioned on a rear side of one of the half thrust bearings in a rotational direction is larger than a thrust relief length at an inner end portion of the thrust relief positioned on a front side of the other of the half thrust bearing in the rotational direction.

Thrust bearing and bearing device for crankshaft of internal combustion engine

A thrust bearing for receiving an axial force of a crankshaft of an internal combustion engine. The thrust bearing includes a pair of half thrust bearings having a semi-annular shape that form an annular shape by abutting their circumferential end surfaces. Each half thrust bearing include thrust reliefs formed adjacent to both circumferential end portions of a sliding surface receiving the axial force so that a wall thickness is thinner toward the circumferential end surface. A thrust relief length Lat an inner end portion of the thrust relief positioned on a rear side of one of the half thrust beings in a rotational direction is larger than a thrust relief length Lat an inner end portion of the thrust relief positioned on a front side of the other of the half thrust bearing in the rotational direction.

A bearing device, including a crankshaft, a pair of half bearings each having crush reliefs formed adjacent to both circumferential ends thereof, a bearing housing in which a retaining hole is formed for retaining the pair of half bearings, and one half thrust bearing having a semi-annular shape arranged adjacent to the retaining hole. The half thrust bearing includes thrust reliefs formed adjacent to both circumferential end portions of a sliding surface receiving an axial force of the crankshaft so that its wall thickness is made thinner toward the circumferential end surface, and a thrust relief length at an inner end portion of the thrust relief positioned on a rear side in the crankshaft rotational direction is formed to be larger than a thrust relief length at an inner end portion of the thrust relief positioned on a front side in the crankshaft rotational direction.

A half thrust bearing having a semicircular ring shape for receiving an axial force of a crankshaft of an internal combustion engine is provided. The half thrust bearing includes thrust reliefs formed adjacently to end surfaces on both sides in a circumferential direction on a slide surface side which receives the axial force so that wall thicknesses become thinner toward the end surfaces. The thrust relief on a rear side in a rotational direction of the crankshaft or both thrust reliefs are formed so that a length of the thrust relief in an inner end portion in a radial direction of the half thrust bearing is longer than a length of the thrust relief in an outer end portion in the radial direction of the half thrust bearing.

Half thrust bearing and bearing device

A sliding bearing supporting a crankshaft journal portion of an internal combustion engine includes a semi-cylindrical bearing half provided with a circumferential oil groove on its inner surface. The circumferential oil groove has an open groove end at least at one of its two circumferential ends, one end being in the rotational direction of the crankshaft. The other cylindrical bearing half has at least one circumferential local groove on its inner circumferential surface with an open groove end at a second circumferential end directed in the opposite direction to the relative rotational direction of the crankshaft. The circumferential oil groove and the local circumferential groove are in fluid communication at a region where groove bottom of the local circumferential groove deviates toward the sliding bearing from another groove bottom of the circumferential groove. An axial groove is formed along a contact interface between the first and second circumferential ends.
