A reflection characteristic measuring apparatus for measuring a characteristic, such as a gloss, of a sample surface. The apparatus includes at least one illuminator for illuminating a sample surface to be measured with light and a plurality of light receiving sections which are arranged axially symmetrically to each other with respect to a normal to an intended object surface and which output two-dimensional light receiving data. A deriving section derives a characteristic of the sample surface such as gloss based on a weighted average obtained by applying a weighting factor to each of the light receiving data outputted from the light receiving sections.

Apparatus for measuring reflection characteristics of object surfaces

A reflection characteristic measuring apparatus includes: a light irradiating member for irradiating light toward a sample surface to be measured; a light detector, having a two-dimensional light receiving surface, for receiving reflection light from the sample surface illuminated with the light irradiated by the light irradiating member to output two-dimensional light receiving data concerning a first area corresponding to an area of the light receiving surface; an area setter for setting a second area at an appropriate position within the first area, the second area being smaller than the first area, to restrict light receiving data to be used in obtaining a reflection characteristic of the sample surface; and a calculator for obtaining a characteristic of the sample surface, based on two-dimensional light receiving data concerning the second area. The area setter detects whether the two-dimensional light receiving data concerning the first area includes a peak value concerning light receiving; sets the second area, with a position of the peak value being defined as a reference position, if the peak value is detected; and sets the second area, with a central position on the first area being defined as the reference position, if the peak value is not detected.

Reflection characteristic measuring apparatus

A light measuring apparatus capable of measuring ambient light, flash light from a flash source directly connected to the light measuring apparatus and flash light from a flash source that is remote. A photoelectric sensor can convert the light into electrical signals when an operator starts a light measurement cycle. A flash light emission signal can be generated to a flash source. The computer circuit can process the light signals to determine the specific mode of operation of the light measuring process, and based upon that particular mode of operation to appropriately calculate measurement values.

Light measuring apparatus capable of measuring ambient light and flash

A photographic color temperature meter capable of measuring light including stationary light and flash light. The meter controls timing of light measurements so that light measurement is performed during the time when stationary light and flash light are included and when only stationary light is included. Light measurement device

A device for measuring a luminance of a fluorescent screen of a cathode ray tube includes a photoelectric conversion device for receiving light from the fluorescent screen and converting the light to electrical energy, an integral device for integrating the electrical energy, a measurement device for measuring the glowing interval time of the cathode ray tube, and a control device for controlling the integral device so as to integrate the electric energy for a general integral time corresponding to the interval time. Also, this device has a calculation device for calculating an offset integrated electrical energy corresponding to a bias component of the photoelectric conversion device, another calculation device for calculating a true integrated electrical energy by subtracting the offset integrated electrical energy from the measured general integrated electrical energy.

Device for measuring luminance of fluourscent screen of cathode ray tube

A photo-electric converter according to the present invention has a switching element connected between a photosensitive element and a photo-electric converting circuit and another switching element connected in parallel with the photosensitive element, and an output from the photo-electric converting circuit obtained by turning on and off the switching element is analogue-to-digital converted and arithmetically processed. Thereby an offset voltage in the photo-electric converter circuit can be corrected and an accurate output can be obtained by the photo-electric conversion.

Photo-electric converter having offset voltage correcting function

A light measuring device wherein a correct measured value can be obtained even if incident light varies in time or a luminance or brightness of an object for measurement is insufficient. The device comprises a branched optical fiber of a random specification having therein three mutually independent light transmission paths for introducing light from a common input end to three output ends. The input end of the optical fiber is located at a slightly defocused position of an objective lens while the output ends are individually opposed to three light receiving elements having different spectral sensitivities. Three components of light are simultaneously converted into electric signals and then into digital values by circuit means each including a double integration analog to digital converter. When a luminance is insufficient at a light receiving element, the gain of the associated analog to digital converter can be adjusted so as to assure appropriate measurement of light.

Multi-channel spectral light measuring device

An analog to digital converting device which can convert analog input signals individually into digital values of accurately corresponding magnitudes even when there is some difference in the input signals. The device comprises an integrating circuit which includes an operational amplifier for receiving an analog signal, an integrating capacitor connected between an input terminal and an output terminal of the operational amplifier, and a reset switch connected in parallel to the integrating capacitor. The integrating circuit is controlled to first perform an integrating operation and then an inverse integrating operation. A comparator is connected to an output terminal of the integrating circuit. A diode or transistor is connected in parallel to the integrating capacitor for limiting an amount of charge to be accumulated in the integrating capacitor by an inverse integrating operation to below a predetermined value.
