A curtain airbag device capable of inflating and deploying without suffering a burst of a cushion part at an end of a cushion part protector near an inflator. The curtain airbag device includes a cushion part extending in a front to back direction of the vehicle, accommodated in a state rolled up from a lower end toward an upper end thereof, and inflating and deploying downward when gas is supplied thereto. The curtain airbag device includes an inflator for supplying gas to the cushion part from a predetermined position at the upper end of the cushion part, and an elongated protectorhaving an arc-like open curve cross section that is open downward and covering the cushion part, with an inner surface thereof making contact with the cushion part. The cross section of the protector being defined by the open curve, with an end point P of the open curve on a vehicle inner side smoothly going up at a first end near the inflator so that the open curve has an increasing distance between end points thereof.

Curtain airbag device

A vehicle air bag device in which gas leakage prevention is achieved via mounting of a bracket on an inflator. The vehicle air bag device includes an air bag that is formed integrally with an inflator insertion portion into which an inflator is inserted. The air bag device also includes a bracket that is formed to attach the inflator to a vehicle body side, and that includes an inflator side mounting portion mounted onto an outer side of the inflator insertion portion so as to partially cover the inflator insertion portion. A strip-form body surrounds and integrates the inflator side mounting portion and the inflator disposed in the inflator insertion portion.

Vehicle air bag device

A vehicle air bag device having an air bag that is formed integrally with an inflator insertion portion into which an inflator is inserted. The air bag device also includes a bracket that is formed to attach the inflator to a vehicle body side, and that includes an inflator side mounting portion mounted onto an outer side of the inflator insertion portion so as to partially cover the inflator insertion portion; a strip-form body that surrounds and integrates the inflator side mounting portion and the inflator disposed in the inflator insertion portion; and a seal portion that is formed on the inflator side mounting portion in alignment with the strip-form body.

A vehicle air bag device may include an air bag having an integrally formed inflator insertion portioninto which an inflatorfor discharging a gas is inserted. A bracket that is formed to attach the inflator to a vehicle body includes an inflator side mounting portionmounted onto an outer side of the inflator insertion portion so as to partially cover the inflator insertion portion partially. A strip-form bodyis disposed over and attaches the bracket, the inflator insertion portion, and the inflator such that the strip-form body. The strip-form body and the inflation insertion portion are displaced from each other by a step formed by the bracket, thereby forming a gap disposed between the strip-form body and said inflation insertion portion. A seal portion formed on the bracket is sealingly aligned with the strip-form body and seals the gap.

An airbag is disposed over almost the entire length along a roof side rail. The airbag comprises a duct formed with a gas introduction hole and a plurality of chambers communicating with the duct. The duct comprises a long first duct part and a short second duct part arranged with the gas introduction hole being provided therebetween. The inlet of a chamber closest to the gas introduction hole in the first duct part has a shape that becomes narrower gradually from the upper part toward the lower part. The passage width of the uppermost part of the inlet of the closest chamber is greater than the depth to the narrowest part thereof, and the passage width of the narrowest part is narrower than the passage width of the first duct part around the inlet thereof.
