A display device includes a pixel circuit on a substrate, a data line to transmit a data signal for the pixel circuit on the substrate, a power supply line, and an extra voltage supply line different from the power supply line and the data line. The pixel circuit includes a driving transistor to control an amount of electric current supplied to a light-emitting element, a storage capacitor between a gate terminal of the driving transistor and the power supply line, a first switching transistor between the light-emitting element and the driving transistor, a second switching transistor between a source terminal of the driving transistor and the data line, and a third switching transistor between the source terminal of the driving transistor and the extra voltage supply line. The third switching transistor supplies a signal voltage different from the data signal to the driving transistor from the extra voltage supply line.

Display device and method of controlling the same

A display device includes a pixel circuit on a substrate, a data line configured to transmit a data signal for the pixel circuit on the substrate, and a monitoring circuit. The pixel circuit includes a driving transistor configured to control an amount of electric current supplied to a light-emitting element, and a first switching transistor disposed between the light-emitting element and the driving transistor. The first switching transistor switches between supplying and not supplying the light-emitting element with electric current from the driving transistor. The monitoring circuit monitors a signal at a monitoring point located between the driving transistor and the first switching transistor in the pixel circuit.

A circuit includes a flip-flop included in a multi-stage shift register and a control element. The flip-flop includes an output field-effect transistor, a first field-effect transistor configured to operate to supply one of a high potential and a low potential to the gate of the output field-effect transistor, and a second field-effect transistor configured to operate to supply the other one of the high potential and the low potential to the gate of the output field-effect transistor. The control element is configured to operate to make an electric current flow between the gate and a power supply in the opposite direction of an off-leakage current from at least either one of the first field-effect transistor and the second field-effect transistor in a period where the first field-effect transistor and the second field-effect transistor are off.

A display device includes power lines, first driving transistors on a first side of each of the power lines, second driving transistors on a second side of each of the power lines, light-emitting elements of a first color, a second color and a third color. A first driving transistor of a first power line drives a light-emitting element of the first color. There are provided a pixel array, an electro-optic device, and an electric apparatus. A pixel array includes plural pixels each having a rectangular shape and including a first-colored sub-pixel of a first color being the maximum in relative luminosity, a second-colored sub-pixel, and a third-colored sub-pixel of a third color being the minimum in relative luminosity. The third-colored sub-pixel is greater in size than each of the first-colored sub-pixel and the second-colored sub-pixel, and is arranged next to the first-colored sub-pixel and the second-colored sub-pixel. Provided is a display apparatus that compensates a drive transistor threshold to attain a highly precise structure. The display apparatus comprises a light emitting element including a first electrode, a second electrode and an organic light emitting layer disposed between the first electrode and the second electrode, and a pixel circuit including a capacitor and a drive transistor letting current according to voltage of the capacitor flow in the light emitting element. The pixel circuit stops supply of current to the light emitting element while connecting the capacitor to the first electrode.
